Who are the “spiritual” Giants of Catholic radio besides catholic answers and Mother Angelica ? Scott Hahn, Fr. Corapi, Fr.Groeschel, Reasons for faith live, Life on the Rock, Doc is in, B Fulton Sheen…did i miss anyone ? How did they change your life ?
.

howcome you can’t pick more than one? Between Bishop Sheen and Father Benedict Groeschel it’s a tough choice, but I understand Bishop Sheen’s cause for sainthood is underway, and, God Willing, Father Benedict’s won’t get started for a LONG time, so I went with Bishop Sheen. . . .

You missed lots. How bout that Catholic Answers guy… What’s his name again?? Karl something :hmmm: … oh yeah, Karl Keating! 😛
In fact you left out the entire Catholic Answers group Karl, Jimmy, Rosalind…
And I have to plug Al Kresta in here. Ya gotta love Al!

These and many more. We really have to tip our hats to Mother Angelica for getting the ball rolling.

I’d definitely vote for Al Kresta.

My choice was limited by the fact that I don’t receive some of the individuals listed. I do receive Fr. Corapi, and I think he is terrific.

I also like Al Kresta, though he wasn’t listed as a choice. Jeff Cavins is another that doesn’t appear on your list.

I put down Fr. Corapi because I like how he breaks things down in easy to understand terms. Also, He does not back down when he says it, ‘the way it is.’ He is direct and to the point!

You missed Father Mitch Paqua. He is really great.

Father Corapi is awesome! I like his direct, no nonsense style.
Father Mitch Pacwa, I like as well.
I like Father Groeschel also; does anyone know how he’s doing after his accident?
I love listening to Bishop Sheen’s Life is Worth Living.

I’m not voting, since I don’t think I can pick just one. 😃 Catholic programs are awesome (even if I can’t get Catholic radio here). Gotta love those downloads.

As a PsyD man, I have to like the Doc! Of course I like them all and wish there was an “all of the above” option. Moreover I wish I had them here on radio…none of them are available in my area (unless I am missing something) and we Catholics are the fastest growing population of northern Colorado.

Fr. Corapi would be my next, for my own personal journey of faith has a significant number of similarities…except for the military experience and the millionaire status.

Mother Angelica was the single greatest mover in Catholic mass media since Archbishop Fulton Sheen. And is it any wonder? Both told it like it was. Both were very orthodox. Both were faithful to His Holiness, the Blessed Mother, and the Holy Trinity. Seems to me a very winning combination to be sure.

Your unworthy brother in Christ and by the Grace of God a future Maronite priest,

I had some time ago started a thread entitled ‘Fr. Benedict Groeschel’ to know of any updates anyone has heard about him…you may want to check there. forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=1131

I don’t think we HAVE Catholic radio around here! Do you get it on the airwaves?

Is it online somewhere?

I’ve listened to many of the people listed by buying tapes…but radio on a daily basis would be GREAT!!!

The other day I heard Fr. Groeschel commenting briefly on his accident and recovery in the intro to a radio talk he was giving. I think that was his first visit back to the airwaves! I don’t know when it was recorded though.

hiphip horaaay ! Good NEWS !

I could not pick just one so I did not vote. I think they are all great and hope to someday have 10% of the knowledge and faith of any of them.

Father Ken Roberts was, by this definition, a spiritual giant for his powerful apologetics. Father Ken Roberts was a charismatic leader who was given too much latitude by those who would rather be fans than Catholics. Roberts exploited this in a lifestyle of sexual predation on our young.

This whole notion of equating attractive media figures with true leaders is a fatal flaw in western thinking, or rather, feeling, because the notion is truly mindless and spiritually bankrupt. We are each of us called to be perfect as our Father in Heaven. Know Christ, live a life in Christ, or be told, “Depart from Me, I never knew you.”

How about Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers, of KBVM FM Portland, Oregon?
