Who do you say that I am as a Muslim?

Muslims, Jews, and other Christ-less faith believers being saved apart from faith in Jesus Christ is the big one.

The Catholic Church does not teach that anyone is saved apart from Jesus Christ. Please go back and read the statements from the Catechism that have been provided..in addition to the posts many posters have charitably taken the time to write and explain.

Not “apart from faith in Jesus Christ”, but simply (of course a oversimplified paraphrase) trusting in the mercy of God that somehow, in some way that may be a mystery to us, God finds a way to bring those souls to Christ.

More in line with the actions of a father than a judge.

You should read the Catechism, it is, as Ashley states very clear, and comforting.

As a non-Catholic Christian whose final authority is God through divine revelation (Scripture), please help me understand how this can happen according to Scripture truth. God is merciful together with being just. How can God save someone apart from Christ paying for their sins. Like all Christians, I have friends and family who have died without faith in Christ. How does God apply the work of Christ to those who reject the Biblical Jesus Christ? After-all, the Muslims reject that Jesus is God and deny the crucifixion and ressurection. The non-believeing Jews deny that Jesus is the Christ. Help me understand what Catholics are saying. God is gracious and merciful alongside with His justice and holiness. Catholic theology seems to lean toward universalism.

First of all, I am not qualified to answer any theological questions. I simply write what I have learned.

First your friends and family that have passed, their fate is in God’s hands not in our understanding of biblical passages or tenets of faith. Were they good people? Bad people? Did their lives help or hurt society? Pray for them and for the mercy of God.

The reason why you need biblical proof of how their salvation can work reveals a calvinistic view of open or shut. Case closed. If someone rejects Jesus, fully knowing what they are doing, then we can only speculate that it will not fare well for them, bu no one knows what is in another’s heart at the moment of death.

Muslims reject no one that they are not taught to reject. Once again do we blame the ignorant child for his lack of knowledge. Especially if taught by loved ones albeit in error. Such is the damage of heresy.

I am familiar with Romans 3, but I don’t think it is saying what you suggest. Christ came to make it possible for man to be acceptable to God, something man could not do with the law, or on his own. But that speaks of the redemtion brought by Christ, not the exclusion of uninformed people.

Universalism is another matter, at least as I understand it. The Catholic Church by definition is Universal.
