If you would read all of the bible you would get the whole picture. Peter was a man, a man with faith but still a man. Who else walked on water other than Jesus? He gave the keys to Peter. It was Peter who said “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Then Jesus said, “Blest are you, Simon son of Jonah! No mere man has revealed this to you but my heavenly Father.” And before His Accession Jesus said to Peter “Feed by lambs…tend my sheep…Feed my sheep”.

Report of Sally Parker Regarding the Mother of Joseph Smith and Her Witness of Seeing the Plates:

I lived by his mother, and [she] was one of the finest of women - always helping them that stood in need . She told the whole story. The plates was in the house and sometimes in the woods for eight months on account of people trying to get them. They had to hide them. Once they hid them under the hearth. They took up the brick and put them in and put the bricks back. The old lady told me this herself with tears in her eyes, and they ran down her cheek too. She put her hand upon her stomach and said she [ha]s the peace of God that rested upon us all that time. She said it was a heaven below. I asked her if she saw the plates. She said no, it was not for her to see them, but she hefted and handled them, and I believe all she said, for I lived by her eight months, and she was one of the best of women. Report of John P. Greene Regarding BoM Witness David Whitmer Under Threat of Death

[W]hen the mob again assembled they went to the houses of several of the leading Mormons. And taking Isaac Morley, David Whitmer, and others, they told them to bid their families farewell, for they would never see them again. Then driving them at the point of the bayonet to the public square, "they stripped and tarred and feathered them, amidst menaces and insults. The commanding officer then called twelve o f his men. And ordering them to cock their guns and present them at the prisoners’ breasts, and to be ready to fire when he gave the word, he addressed the prisoners, threatening them with instant death unless they denied the Book of Mormon and confessed it to be a fraud; at the same time adding that if they did so, they might enjoy the privileges of citizens. David Whitmer, hereupon, lifted up his hands and bore witness that the Book of Mormon was the Word of God. The mob then let them go. (John P. Which is why it is called private revelation, not public revelation. 👍

Mormons don’t recognize the distinction, and that is the source of a great many of their problems.

Those who read The Book of Mormon - AS MORONI SAYS - with a sincere heart (give it a fair chance, the way you want the Father TO JUDGE YOU; not with an “I hate everything ‘Mormon’ because I was hurt,” weepish attitude.) YOU WILL EXPERIENCE THE DIVINE MANIFESTATION OF GOD:

4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.
6 And whatsoever thing is good is just and true; wherefore, nothing that is good denieth the Christ, but acknowledgeth that he is.

HELLO??? Does The Book of Mormon deny Christ? Answer the question.

You answer that question in an “around-about” fashion, you’re going to be judged in an “around-about” fashion. Don’t you get it?
 
You may as well since your common sense and judgment have left you. So many things wrong with the BOM but you can’t see it. As far as witnesses go, and such a small number, there are always someone, somewhere who will testify to a falsehood. Consider for example the Shakers:

We, the undersigned, hereby testify, that we saw the holy Angel standing upon the house-top, as mentioned in the foregoing declaration, holding the Roll and Book.

Betsey Boothe.
Louisa Chamberlain.
Caty De Witt.
Laura Ann Jacobs.
Sarah Maria Lewis.
Sarah Ann Spencer.
Lucinda McDoniels.
Maria Hedrick.

Joseph Smith only had three witnesses who claimed to see an angel. The Shakers, however, had a large number of witnesses who claimed they saw angels and the Roll and Book. There are over a hundred pages of testimony from “Living Witnesses.” The evidence seems to show that Martin Harris accepted the Sacred Roll and Book as a divine revelation. Clark Braden stated: “Harris declared repeatedly that he had as much evidence for a Shaker book he had as for the Book of Mormon” (The Braden and Kelly Debate, p.173).

This isn’t about Mormons, it’s about THE Book of Mormon Witnesses and THE Book of Mormon.

Paul’s churches had a plethora of GIFTS - do you know what those are? And the early followers of The Book of Mormon were blessed by the gifts of the Spirit, and the people IN The Book of Mormon received them. How about your Catholic congregations? Any gifts of the Spirit manifest - ever??
 
Ok, I’ll answer that, only it will prove nothing. It does not deny that Christ existed but its picture of Christ and his teaching is wrong. Now that is not a round-about answer, that is a truefull answer. The Bible Christ is not the Christ of the BOM. And I am not afraid of any judgements that you proclaim as I speak the truth.

Instead of playing this game of me removing excuses that you feel excuse you from what the Bible says about The Book of Mormon, and the witnesses of The Book of Mormon, and The Holy Book of Mormon itself, why don’t you **first demonstrate you know how to discern **in the first place.

Tell us one book you discerned by the Holy Spirit was from God, outside of the Bible (actually we should question you on your experience of discernment and Holy Spirit on that too), and how you received your witnesses.

Because quite frankly, I think I am speaking to the deaf, and we need to know if you can even hear.

I await YOUR responses.
