Look in your bible. In 100% of the cases, our Lord Jesus told the sinner, in plain Aramaic, that their sins were forgiven. They did not doubt. They did not presume. They knew. Matthew 9:2, Mark 2:5, Luke 5:20, 7:48
Jesus gave power over sin to the Twelve. (John 20:23) How can they forgive if no one confesses to them? You cannot forgive what you do not know.
Saint Paul had a ministry of reconciliation - to those already Christian (2 Cor 5). What is that? He urged Christians to be reconciled with God (2 Cor 5:20). How and why?
Saint Paul forgave sins in the person of Christ. The Person of Christ, acting as Christ and with the authority of Christ (2 Cor 2:10) He forgave sins for the sake of the Church - the living, breathing Body of Christ. Romans 12:5, 1 Cor 12:12, 12:27.
And James counsels us to “confess your sins to one another” (James 5:16)
But, setting the bible aside, confession and absolution is how Christianity has been practiced since AD 33. The unified, universal, “Catholic” Church. Even after the great schism, both West and East, Catholic and Orthodox. Universally.
Then came someone in Germany 1,500 years later who convinced himself he knew better. After his revolt, what Christ had done has slowly unraveled.
So my question is: Why do you not follow the bible and confess your sins to someone who sits in the person of Christ?
