Oy… That’s just way too hard…
Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassitti and St. Threse of the Child Jesus are huge inspirations to me, but the more I learn about others, the more the list grows! 😃

  1. (St) JP2
    2.St. Padre Pio
  2. St Jacinta & Francisco (& Lucia in due course)
  3. All Catholic Martyrs of the 20th C, especially Maximilian Kolbe
  4. (St) Fulton Sheen
  5. (St) Mother Theresa
  6. (St) Pius XII

St. Maximilian Kolbe

That being said, I’d like to say that I agree with much of what’s been said already, at least about the people I’ve heard of. The priest who keeps the nightlight on because the darkness is afraid of him sounds like a great priest! Wish I knew him!

I would like to make a plea for a Papa who has not been mentioned yet, but who proclaimed the truth boldly and with prophecy that is coming true in our age–who endured terrible suffering after the outright rebellion that this proclamation unleashed, according to the people around him. (Referring to Humana Vitae, if you haven’t figured it out yet.) He bore our sorrows, truly.

President John F. Kennedy, of course.

He brought American Catholics out of the outhouse and into the White house, against pretty tremendous odds.
Too bad he was privately, a ā€œmodernistā€ catholic a la Gary Wills (see the same’s book Bare Ruined Choirs regarding JFK’s secular beliefs)

My favorite: the late Cardinal Francis Xavier Nguyen Van Thuan.

I wish i could have picked more than one.
I love bishop Fulton Sheen. I am reading his autobiography ā€œTreasure in Clayā€ and it inspires me so much.
My other hero is Mother Angelica. Her courage, Chutzpa and debth of faith is tremendously touching, inspiring and deepening my faith.
Another hero of mine is St. Maximilan Kolbe who gave his life (name removed by moderator)lace of a father of a family in Ausschwitz. His devotion to Mary, his Wllingness to die for another person is the true spirit of Christ!
I wish I can be only a fraction as holy as these people were.

I have several.

Antonio de Oliveira Salazar
Francisco Franco
Maxmillian Kolbe
Pope Pius XII
Padre Pio
Pope John Paul II
Mother Theresa
