I hate it! It fetishizes on flat-chestedness!
Now I understand better your concerns expressed in the other thread. Yes, it seems that in the internet, since 4 or 5 years ago, that fetish appeared like a trendy thing. But thankfully, I haven’t perceived someting of it in real life.

Blessings!

I have, and I’ve seen it prominently in some anime convetion-goers. Very creepy.

Hmmm, I haven’t attended an anime convention yet, but, I remember some people at my University’s comic, cartoon, and manga course that are likely to say things like that. Even one of them instead of laughing at funny things has said “LOL” in various ocassions.

Blessings!

I just do not get why they should make stuff like that into a fetish. If anything, it is an insult to common sense and to the larger anime fanbase community.

Sadly, a not small part of the anime fandom is chock-full of fetishes.

I’m having a lot of fun watching Rurouni Kenshin. I love the protagonist who is so funny yet so serious at the same time. See, I’m not a nightmare fetishist, I don’t watch only dark stuff you know! I love the character both because how funny he is as I said, and also because I like Kenshin’s nokilling rule and sense of honor, much like so many western superheroes. I had to post this video because it is so damn funny.

youtube.com/watch?v=cMV9AhHoXFg Yes, thats from my personal channel, I uploaded it. I also uploaded a HD version of the english opening of the anime: youtube.com/watch?v=4K7ruJ4NmjQ

Ok guys, I just spent the whole. bloody. night editing and making a video involving the song Lilium. Guess what its about? Hint: its a tribute and I’m proud how it came out. View it on my personal channel, just remove the stupid advert because it matched thirdparty content yet my other one did not:rolleyes:: youtube.com/watch?v=P5fZwlmEkL8

For you Lady Mary!

Guys, you know my favorite anime is Neon Genesis Evangelion followed by Elfen Lied? Now, while those two are my favorites, my third favorite anime ever also contain my msot favorite anime character EVER and he has got to be the bravest, most strong willed, awesome character in anime ever made, ever. If somebody actually makes an anime with the Blessed Virgin as the main character,I don’t know how anyoe can top him. Who am I talking about? Kenshin Himura.

I like watched 30 episodes of Rurouni Kenshin in 5 days and had more fun watching them than all the episodes of Bleach I’ve watched so far.I love the plot with its politics and philosophy, I love how it made us FEEL for the people of Japan and their suffering, I lvoe the struggles which the main characters passed through but the best thing in this anime has go to be the main character himself.

This isn’t one of those characters who is overshadowed by ‘other cooler’ characters, this is a character who is neither boring nor invincible, has a lot of faults and guilt but is so likeable and brave you can’t just not look up to him and want to be exactly like him. And he refuses to killand only wields a reverse blade sword. In my opinion, Kenshin has got to be the greatest anime character ever made, better than Goku, Shinji Ikari, Rei Ayanami and even Lucy from Elfen Lied. By the way I haven’t watched the trust and betrayal OVA as of yet though I want to see Kenshin’s backstory more, and no, don’t see the reflections OVA which just plain sucks because it breaks Kenshin’s character completely. Kenshin never gave a sincere smile my foot. Ken from Fist of the North Star has nothing on Kenshin. Neither does Goku. Neither does Chuck Norris. Neither does… Ok, maybe Bruce Lee can be a match for Kenshin but hey, the latter efeated man men stroger than him so if he existed in reallife, I think Kenshin would win.

Speaking of Evangelion…

If only they had Schick razors in the first series 😃

Blessings!

Yeah, I saw that picture before and to be honest, it itsn’t that funny:o. Its just that showing a character out of character isn’t necessarilly funny and this picture fails to impress me. On ther other hand, THIS is unbloody hilarious. Behold, the first episode of Neon Genesis Evangelion: ultra-condensed sound only version: youtube.com/watch?v=sp52KF4–GI

Also, what do you guys think of Rurouni Kenshin? I hear a live action film is being made of the manga and its looks very promising (unlike you know, Dragonball Evolution).

Also watched the first two episodes of Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Its…interesting. I’m hooked. Want to see what happens next.

Well, yesterday I was reading some Evangelion news about merchandising, and clicked into a Japanese Schick webpage and that was a funny surprise for me! really unexpected.

About Rurouni Kenshin, I saw some episodes of the series more than 5 years ago. These were good. Maybe I’ll continue watching the series in the next months!

Puella Magi Madoka Magica… good series! the last episode I watched was 5, I think. Another one that I have to finish.

Blessings!

I’ve been a fan of western comics, SF, fantasy, horror my whole life and also fascinated by Japan and Japanese culture, yet have never really followed anime or manga. My generation just missed the wave of fascination with those genres, I guess.

I went to the Phoenix Comic Con last weekend and had a good time, and also had a chance to talk to some of the anime fans and cosplayers, whose devotion to the field is awe-inspiring. I’ll have to start looking at some of the films they and the posters on this thread have suggested, many of which are available on streaming Netflix. Every now and then, it’s probably worthwhile to explore new genres, it keeps the mind active.

I did watch “Jin Roh: The Wolf Brigade” a couple of years ago, and was very impressed - a sort of dark political thriller techno-noir alternative-present vision of Japan.

Alright guys, here is my initial reaction to Puella Magi Madoka Magica. I think that when I finish it, it will forever be ingrained as one of the greatest things I have ever seen in my entire life. I’malways saying that but, hey,I only watch good anime or ones I hear are good. It doesn’t mean that every anime I see is my most favorite just because I like it (Bleach isn’t exactly my favorite as it is rather badly narrated, the Fruits Basket anime tasted like diabetes and then there are anime like Code Geass, Durarara!! and Baccano!! which while all look good, I don’t think would make me call them the greatest anime ever.

As for PMMM, the best thing about the show are the characters and the narrative. It establishes many things without telling us for example. No, ‘Sayaka loved this boy who broke his arm!’ ****. It instead shows us the love between Sayaka and this boy. Madoka Kaname is basically Usagi (or Serena in the english dub,aka SailorMoon herself) done right. You know that annoying bratty little sister which the main character in half the stuff we watch and read ahs to deal with? Imagine if that bratty half pint was the main character and you basically get Usagi. Now I enjoyed watchng Sailor Moon as a kid but now, meh, Usagi is annoying. Madoka islike Shinji Ikari weak and is slowly getting broken through the events she’s witnessing, however, she still has resolve left and cares deeply about her friends.

As of now, I’ve only watched 6 episodes but I plan on finishing the anime to night. I’ve got 4 hours until 3 o’clock at which time I’ll sleep! However,I doubt how I’ll finish the series in such a short time without going to bed deeply disturbed, agitated and depressed because Madoka is as hard to watch as Elfen Lied (even tohugh not even those two are as difficult to watch as A Song of Ice and Fire is hard to read because of all the sadness). After I finish the series and when my sister finishes her exams, I try showing it to her. She doesn’t like anime at all but doesn’t mind me showing her some clips here and there. Maybe it’d interest her. She’s going to be 15 this year so I think she can handle it.

Also, while I have said I don’t like Dragonball at all, I just readon TV Tropes that there was an episode in Draagonball Z where both Goku and Piccollo earn to drive. After reading that bit, I HAD to see what was up and you tube gave me this: youtube.com/watch?v=-WqYMCqUAv8 What mad eme laugh is the fact that the producers actually made such an episode and not any of the actual jokes. One youtuber said it best:

“Best. Filler. Ever.”
