I’ll be short here but, I saw episode 4 of the new Hayate anime. Loved it and the fact it referenced so many anime and manga I never knew even existed. I looked them up and yes, they do exist. Animation was really good this time although I don’t like how Hayate isn’t getting much focus unlike what episode 3 did.

Also, speaking of episode 3, it is implied that Hayate and Hinagiku held hands. I mean, watch that scene again. The implication IS there. Seeing as Hayate is such a nice guy, he wouldn’t be so rude as to not give in to Hinagiku’s totally innocent advances even if he didn’t know that to her it was romantic.

Death Note. All time favourite=)

i was sooo rooting for Kira ^^

Say guys, check out my blog. It’s pretty abd and primitive and patethic right now but give it a try, I’ll try updating once a week for now. philipmarie.blogspot.com/

Me!!! 🙂

My favorites are:
Dragon Ball (the whole series)- it has been a very large part of my elementary and highschool life. 😃
Voltes V- same reason
Yu Gi Oh! Duel monsters- I also used to have a card deck. 😛
Inuyasha
Bleach
Hunter x hunter- which I wasn’t able to finish up to now
Chrono Crusade- love the “Catholic feel” on it
Gakou no kaidan- I love those casting out of ghost stuff. 😛

Oh, I almost forgot:
Ah! My Goddess
Great Teacher Onizuka
Shaman King
Doraemon- my fave when I was a kid.😛
Tokyo Majin
Daimos

And the one in which the main character’s name is “Nube” and also another one in which the main character is “Sanzo Hoshin” (I think??). Forgot the titles. 😃

Ah, you mean Chrono Crusade, or as it was originally (mis)spelled Chrno Crusade? I liked that one too, I’ve only seen the English dubbed version, but I really sympathized with Sister Rosette, and, as usual, I loved Hilary Haag’s performance.

Yeah, my phone’s “auto correct’s” fault. 😛

The first time I watch it, I was like “Wow, the caliber exorcist gun and those crucifixes that can create a forcefield is kinda cool!” 😃
The ending’s kinda sad. It’s one of the saddest ending I’ve seen in an anime. Actually, after I watched that, I felt really sad. 😃 Good thing it’s fiction. And yeah, at least Sister Rosette and Chrono died together. 😦 Another sad thing is that Rosette’s brother remained regressed. I love the song of Azumaria (or Azmaria in the English version). Downloaded it on my phone before.😛 I didn’t understand the part there though where Azumaria visited the tomb of Rosette, where someone is saying “I am the Alpha and the Omega…” is that God or Aion?

Say guys, a realization jut dawned on me regarding Neon Genesis Evangelion. Gendo wanted to cause the second impact just to be able to be with his wife again. What kind of man does that or has that same reaction? How many people out there would actually want the world to end jsut to be with their wife? I say this because a lot fo other anime did this in a better way.

For example, Berserk is all about the main character seeking revenge agaisnt the man who raped his love and part of his revenge is in killing all the apostles of Griffith. Reading volume 13 of the manga, you;d see why Guts goes to all those lengths in order to get revenge. Or in FullMetal Alchemist, the main duo try to resurrect their mother back. it was realistic there because the Elric brothers were naive kids and they learnt from their mistake whereas Gendo is a full grown and intelligent man. Not only that but if he really loves his wife, why does he screw around with the Akagi family?

I make such a huge deal out of this because this is the main reason the story in the series even started. Gendo wanted Shinji to pilot Eva unit 01 because his mother’s soul was in it and wanted to use it to become a God so as to stay with her. It completely destroys the whole story and makes me consider putting Evangelion lower on my top ten list.

However, while Gendo’s reaction is unrealistic, the other characters were not. Asuka is a narcissist, Misato is a drunk, Rei has difficulty showing ehr feelings and Shinji is horribly depressed yet as someone who has gone through depression, I could sympathize and root for these characters. I mainly watched Eva for the characters by the way so, I don’t know.

“Catholic feel” anime, huh. 😃
Have you all watch 07-Ghost?

Yep! 🙂 Although the ending did leave me wanting more to the story. Another ‘Catholic feel’ anime (and manga and novels) that I liked was Trinity Blood. Mostly because I like the grand scale and political scheming going on.

Say guys, look at my new blog. I’ll try updating it weekly. I posted another version of my top ten anime characters list only this time, it’s much much better and more well written. philipmarie.blogspot.com/

You think of this now:confused:?.That’s actually the first thing I thought about after having finished watching the Eva series,EoE and the no comment “:imsorry:…tragic” feeling I had for what had just happened and what ends up happening to everyone in EoE.

Not any of the possible speculative sub-text Eva is reputed to have.Yui was prob. one the few ppl that Gendo ever loved and reciprocated that love for.Gendo is yet another person on the show like all the others you named who has problems recieving, processing and expressing love for their own particular reasons. He clearly didn’t take her dying very well and we get the whole making of Rei b/c of that.It really makes you think about whether he would have been involved in the instrumentality project, executed it in the same way or have even cared to be involved in a wild project for forced evolutionary trancendense of humanity if all he really desired was to have his wife back.

 Well I’m back from those suspensful but not weight-crushing mid-terms I just had. I also see that no one commented on my new fan-fic project involving a mixture of Shenmue,Tekken and a few other things for a martial arts thriller story.I’ll say right now that I’ve also thought of making a fantasy story out of the soul-calibur series and how there’s loads of games esp.old pre-PS2 era games that can serve as inspiring premises for stories given the lack of depth they got in their own games.

I also see that no one even at least answered my question of whether or not* Gunslinger girls* was an exploitive gun fest romp with *moe *girls gratingly portrayed as ruthless assassins.

As my for J-pop diet, unfortunately I think I’ll stop watching GITS:SAC for the moment and will maybe get back to it during my two week winter break, maybe even making it to as far GITS:2ndG.I’ll still be watching KR Wizard b/c it’s on-going,a pleasant taste of J-drama’s campier side,my 1st real Japanese tokusatsu and as food for thought I’d like 2 think about how those kinds of shows influence anime and manga in all it’s narrative aspects.I’m planning that after that as a* tribute *to how my mom watched the Ultraman series when she was little girl I’ll watch the rest of the Ultraman Seven X series beyond the 1st episode b/c it’s supposedly the darker more intended for adults take on Ultraman.Makes me wonder that when Marvel does an Ant-man movie whether (esp.if they’ll be using Henry Pym) if they decide to use the Giant-man persona if it’ll be sort of like any of the Ultras of the Seven X were portrayed.
