I’m not sure if I can like SAO. Too much two-handed swords and I think that there’s a little too much fanservice in it.
SAO’s fanservice is actually just moderate (with the exception of one or two episodes). Believe me, I’ve seen worse.I’m not sure if I can like SAO. Too much two-handed swords and I think that there’s a little too much fanservice in it.
Good point. And yet, the fasnervice in there is not my taste.SAO’s fanservice is actually just moderate (with the exception of one or two episodes). Believe me, I’ve seen worse.
YOU MEAN LIKE THIS CLASSIC EXAMPLE!Good point. And yet, the fasnervice in there is not my taste.
Also, the two-handed sword designs there are very boring. Then again, I’m not a very big fan of two-handed swords. I do have certain exceptions to this, but those are exceptions.
At least that particular sword looks awesome, like Zanbato.
Have you seen Steins Gate? I hear robotics is a spiritual successor to that show which looks very good.Robotics;Notes is a great show. Really liking it. The story and characters are a lot of fun, and the art style is pretty.
Also, I’d like to see a real girl try out Akiho’s hairstyle. It’s amazing.
For that matter, both the main characters are amazing.
DUUUUUUDDDEEEEE, you bet it’s awesome and why is it so awesome? Because of the guy who wields it. Guts kills demons with that sword which in story has no real cutting edge and is always called a big slab of iron by others; despite witnessing VERY horrible events like all his comrades getting killed, his lover getting violated in front of his eyes, all by what used to be his best friend, he enver gives up and when given the opportunity to become a better person, he takes it, oh gosh does he ever. He is in my opinion, the third greatest anime and manga character ever, behind Kenshin Himura and Kenzou Tenma. A man who lives life for life itself and who fights a selfish coward who uses others for his own wants and can enver be truly whole. At least that particular sword looks awesome, like Zanbato. The typical two-handed swords now are boring. I am bored of those types of swords because I see two-handed swords being used EVERYWHERE. In shot, a little too mainstream.
You mean like the Miyazaki movies? Those are awesome, especially Princess Mononoke, but really almost all of them are good. I haven’t actually seen Howl’s Moving Castle, it’s on my to-watch list.I love anime, but only of a kind like “The Howl’s Moving Castle” is…
I seldom skip anime epsiodes. The only anime that I ever skipped episodes of were Bleach (which I haven’t finishe dyet seeing as it is too long and even then, I only skipped filler episodes), School Days which was so awful and Cowboy Bebop. Yes, Cowboy Bebop. I skipped episodes 21 to 23 because I wanted to know what happened next in the story. Seriously, 26 episodes and you actually had filler? You mean like the Miyazaki movies? My tastes are sort of random, but they tend to be a little on the girly side and have a sci-fi or fantasy feel. I have a tendency to stop in the middle of things, too. Currently watching Haibane Renmei, hoping it’s short enough that I won’t lose steam halfway. So far I like it.

I actually watched that one later on but not the other 2. I just watched it to finish Bebop once and for all but, after watching that episode, I gave up on it. I hated Andy, and I mean hated him. I found him annoying and a huge jerk and not the type of lovable funny jerk like Niijima from Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple or Wataru from Hayate. The joke at the end wasn’t even that funny. Space Samurai, really? You skipped the episode with Cowboy Andy?! Tsk tsk, go back and watch at least that one.

But of course! One of my top 3 or 4 all time right there.Have you seen Steins Gate? I hear robotics is a spiritual successor to that show which looks very good.
Just for clarification, are you talking about Kirito’s or Asuna’s swords? Those actually do not qualify as two-handed.Also, the two-handed sword designs there are very boring. Then again, I’m not a very big fan of two-handed swords. I do have certain exceptions to this, but those are exceptions.
Then, what are those swords classified as, exactly? One-handed or two-handed? Most in the fanbase say that it’s two-handed. O:Just for clarification, are you talking about Kirito’s or Asuna’s swords? Those actually do not qualify as two-handed.![]()
Whoever you’re referring as the fanbase either does not know basic sword classifications are just not among the more well-informed (don’t worry, every fanbase has 'em). Then, what are those swords classified as, exactly? One-handed or two-handed? Most in the fanbase say that it’s two-handed. O:
I don’t know but Gut’s Dragonslayer is a one-handed sword. In an early chapter of the manga, he even cut a monster wiht it using his teeth to hold his sword. And it worked! Then, what are those swords classified as, exactly? One-handed or two-handed? Most in the fanbase say that it’s two-handed. O:
I know, right? They cannot tell a knightsword form a claymore. I kid you not, sir.Whoever you’re referring as the fanbase either does not know basic sword classifications are just not among the more well-informed (don’t worry, every fanbase has 'em).
Technically, Kirito uses a one-handed sword and it has even been the subject of dialogue in both the novel and the anime. (In fact, further explanation will result in spoilers.)
Same with Asuna and her rapier. In the same, aforementioned dialogue, she even explains that the style works best one-handed because shields will affect attack speed.
I gotta say, talking about that right now just got my mind on how funky MMO-speak can be. I guess that’s another perk about SAO. It’s one of the few popular anime I’ve seen that makes heavy use of MMO and RPG tropes. People say the .hack series already did this but I think it’s better if more than one major anime had a monopoly in this type of genre.
Oh yeah that and now I’m imagining my own SAO OCs having the same dialogue. XD
