I never called the fanservice in Hayate filthy. It’s standar but more tasteful and ‘normal’ most of the time. The only bit I found to be distasteful was when Wataru and Saki were gambling against a villian who forced Sakuya to dress in a bunny costume (yeah, it makes sense in context) which would tear up everytime they lost a round or so. However, despite being a bit fanservicy, I wan’t exactly disgusted; hell, I was cheering for Saki and Wataru in order to save Sakuya. That aside, Hayate is pretty tame.

I disagree with the animation. While not great, it’s still ncie to look at except Hayate who even in the manga looks too girly.

What’s your favorite season and moment in Hayate chapman? Personally, I love season 2 more even though I LOVE the first season but season 2 not only had a more consistent plot, it had some of the sweetest, most heartwarming moments I have ever seen in anything, not to mention the fact it killed me laughing (Wataru’s comedy act=priceless!). Not that the first season was bad, far from it. I’d give the first season a 8 but the second season plus everything else, an 8.5.
The second one (the JC Staff one).

And I’ve seen the arc you are referring to with Sakuya. I found it funny, personally.

Hayate himself doesn’t look too bad, but most of the girls in the show do (relative to earlier seasons). Nagi is an exception, IMO, and so is Chihiro.

Say, how many chapters of Hayate have you read thus far? I don’t know what chapter goes in which volume so please tell me, with how many volumes have been released so far in english. Are theys till coming out though? I hope they haven’t cancelled Hayate. The msot recent chapter dropped a hugebombshell of a twist. Won’t say it though.

[okay maybe putting something here will help me go to sleep sooner -_-.Whatever there’s worse things I could be doing at this time]

As much as I’m interested in watching Madoka Magica first from what I’ve read about it on tvtropes, then from JesuOtaku from thatguywiththeglasses.com and now you guys I’m interested in watching it but I have a problem with watching a show that’s is a deconstruction of a genre I hardly really understand.I mean I did (*with guilt *:p) watch Sailor Moon and Cardcaptors when I was little and actually understood them better then my sister but I sorta forced to watch those girly-ish shows b/c I was trying to understand anime better at the time.Escaflowne might be considered a balance of stuff from bishonen and shojo looks,to quasi-magic girl, romantic drama, fantasy and mystical mechas though.

With NGE I didn’t have trouble with the idea of watching a mecha show deconstructed b/c of years of watching common mecha shows like Medabots,Gundam Wing,Zoids and Transformers:Robots in disguise and Energon.Yet if I watch PMMM wouldn’t it be like seeing a kind of building I’ve never seen (idk an old building that’s in an authentic Rococo style ~) get torn apart by a construction crew with me just watching them and wondering what each part of the building was used for,why it was in that style, did it have a purpose etc?.Maybe I should watch another sienen magic girl show like Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha before I see the genre get* interogated and mental broken down*😃 like how you guys describe it as having happened.

On a different note something that bothers me about anime is how much of it is about “school-life”.Particulary high school. The thought of how I’m in early 20’s watching animated teens do fantastical stuff bothers me a bit.If it were other early 20 somethings I’d be fine but with teens you can use the coming of age and social stuff of high school for some good stories in contrast to the more optional post-secondary ed when ppl supposedly got there mindset more established. For me high school blew.Heck I’ll be truthful and frank and just let it out that to this day and moment my whole process of education has been a very miserable one -_-.All that garbage about cliques like jocks, popular kids,“nerds” and relationships already peeves me off enough for it’s big lack of the reality of those things and I don’t like it anymore really even if you do add the wildness of J-pop in it.High school in particular was at a certain point where I got what was hopefully one of my last major reality slaps and where I finally got a reasonably healthly life-perspective even with my default grim quasi-fatalistic aloofness I now go into but am trying to grow out of.

[Okay note to self:I already finished watching KR Wizard episode 7 and I guess I’ll watch episodes 8 and 9 on Nov,4th as an oasis from the mid-term exam beatdowns. Also episodes somewhere btw 13-15 of GITS:SAC sometime there.]

I love all the oldies. Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, Yu Yu Hakusho, Pokemon and so on. But my all time favorite anime, without a doubt would have to be INUYASHA!!! :extrahappy: I just love everything about that show! The characters, the story line, the animation, the music score, everything! :clapping: I think I might even have a little crush on Inuyasha. 😉 ❤️ Wierd isn’t it? :blushing: Haha oh well. 🙂 😉

Man, I’ve already missed out on Double, OOO, and Fourze. I seriously gotta find time to watch this one. It actually embodies a them I’d use if I were a Rider: magic.

I’ve already caught up on SAO anyways and have covered more than seven episodes of Seitokai no Ichizon.

Do you support the MirokuSango pairing?

Watched the WEIRDEST anime last night thanks crunchyroll. I forget the title but basically it’s a love triangle where one of the characters is dead and can only woo the girl when he steals the second love interests body.

So strange. Such a waste of time. Ugh. 🤷

Not all THAT weird… IY is a rettybclassic hero type. My list is similar.

I rewatched episodes 6-77 and 13 of the second season of Hayate no Gotoku. Man, compared to the new anime, they were so much better. Memories just poured back in, I felt happy again and my desire to make friends grew even more.

The third season isn’t that bad chapman. The only things wrong for me were the rather out of place moments with Ruka and Hayate acting wildly out of character in episode 2 where he actually uses a rather harsh technique in order to subdue a little girl who knew systema. Sure, she almost killed him but still. His reaction where he was more concerned about what other taught of him when he did that instead of seeing if his opponent was injured were worse although thinking about it, it’s only natural. That, and it’s a bit too fast for my liking. Each episode of the first and second Hayate seasons felt so long in a good way. They had a lot of content and a great atmosphere while the new anime feels a bit too fast. It’s like little is happening. I’m still going to see it though as I have a feeling it’s going to be good and as a fan of the manga, I want to know whats going to happen.

Since so much of chat here lately has been about seemingly exploitative anime what do you is gunslinger girl exploitative?.

I mean it’s like someone took frame by frame stuff from a idk a Bourne series,Jason Statmen or mindless Hong Kong shooter movie and put some moe girls in it:mad:!.I mean I know that, that is prob.one of the lighter levels of anime craziness but it was still so grating to watch in a trailer that made it seem like a Bourne series,Jason Statmen or mindless Hong Kong shooter movie >~<.

It didn’t help that it was on a Shigofumi:letters from the departed DVD which I handled ok until like the 2nd episode when I found out that the girl who stabbed the rocketeer hobbyist boy was exploitated for like hebephilic porn.At which point I was like “WHOA THERE! Q_Q.I AM NOT going to continue this anime” before promptly returning it to the library.I don’t know if I’d be able to carry out watching the rest this time around.

As much as I dislike stuff about mobsters, gangsters, assaisains, merceneries and hitmen most of the time b/c it sickens me to see such terrible ppl get glorified ironically I’ll only get into that stuff for the sake of research on something I’m working on.As a result if I’d like to look into that stuff I’ve decided to do it in a good thourough way.

I’ve decided to take a break from my second DB franchise fan-fic for a while.I’ve ran out of steam for that for a while at least so I’ll take a break from it until ideas for it start culminating again.I’ve decided that do something else that I can take any direction with, without having to listen to preset foundations for a series.Somehow I think that if I can combine the plots of the Tekken games (esp.the first three Tekken games) with both the Shenmue games along with a few other things I can up with completely original story that would make for a great martial arts thriller novel!.Maybe it can be a movie even 😛 !.Maybe at least a good screenplay .

It’s just that they both give off the impression that they got layers.I don’t know much about Shenmue other then it being one of the earliest sandox open world games,it was made by Square and I’ve heard that the series isn’t offically over and there still hoping to continue the story. It was originally suppose to be 6-7 games but they had money problems.I wonder how it would have turned out though : - /.Along with all that it just really seems to give off the the feeling of an urban martial arts thriller. One* with layers *:D…but unfortuntely still that shallow, uncreative, pitiful revenge trope as the driving spur for this stuff happening -_-.

Yeah,I know I prob. shouldn’t take the vapid story-lines of fighting games too seriously since they use silly reasons like revenge to justify having a talented fighter for a player to select but still…with the Tekken games I actually sorta get a vibe it’s one of the less vapid ones.Maybe it’s b/c of those polygonal graphic that from the start always tried to do realism (in the early days with it’s textures) in constrast to say,Street fighter’s story-line which has chronological inconsistencies (ex.SFIV apparently happens after SFII but before SFIII) & it always boils down to Ryu trying to control his innerdarkness or something Shadaloo related. The Mortal Kombat games have had better story consistency and details for the most part (who knowsif that’ll improve with the post 2k11 reboot) but while it’s an American style dark fantasy martial arts at the end of the day it’s esp.in terms of gameplay it’s a jarring gore-fest romp -_-.

Tekken feels different though. For the most part it’s always been about the hatred inside the Mishima family.Esp.with the first 3.:-/…Really makes me wonder what the story “would have been” for the 1st tag tournament game if they didn’t scrap the plot for just a dream fight-fest.By the 4th one though it’s become more about Jin focusing on his attempted revenge and apparent corruption with power. In my opinion then every three
Tekken games so far has meant a different “stage”.So far as the story has progressed so far it should be wrapping up.It’s unlikely since it’s *Namco’s cash-cow -_- .If it were to be wrapped up I’d say it would happen in 2 games.Maybe 3 if they use an extra one for a good/wise story contribution. It would definately help if Unknown became a canon character to the main games and I have a feeling that Lars might and can be a key instigator to wrap up the franchise. If they were to finish the Tekken series I would see them having no problem having a spot in another fighting games series like how the (now retired?) Virtua fighter characters have been appearing in the Dead or Alive games more.

Thus it seems like for now that Tekken+Shenue+Ghost in the shell+Michael Crichton style thriller+depth and maybe development style of Les Miserables+Mo Yan’s hallucinatory realism for the supernatural stuff (maybe on a marginal level but originally I was thinking of going more for and still using Buddhist and Taoist philosophy)+Jet Li Rise to honor game+John Woo style gun fu/guns akimbo/gun kata from Equilibrium =great martial arts thriller book!.Grief and gravy I’m going to have to learn how to write detailed martial arts fights @_@.:dts:But it’s about the story above all :yup:!.

End question: Do you guys think “gunslinger girl” is exploitative?.

*Come on Namco just give Jin his mom back already and make them all even
Heihachi one big happy family like in Lars Tag Tournament 2 ending and include Lee as well for his sake and for his approval of excellence 😉

Just saw episode 3 of the new Hayate season. First of all, the bad stuff: I really don’t like the bits with Ruka which are jsut so random, come out of nowhere, are utterly pointless and pretentious and are so out of place of this happy, happy show. Also, I didn’t like Hayate calling Hinagiku scary when she gets angry, even if he didn’t mean to hurt her at all. In the manga, Hinagiku wanted to act more nice because Ayumu told her that Hayate is afraid that she hates him and doesn’t want to hurt her and because of that, it was more powerful in the mangs. Also, theres no need to spell it out for us that Hinagiku is going to appear in this episode Mr. Producers thank you very much. And Ruri’s appearance was rather pointless in this episode honestly. Is it me or does Hayate not trust her?

Now, the good stuff: the animation is as good as ever although wish Hayate looked much less girly and the episode was essentially a remake with a few tweaks of Hayate and Hina’s first real date. It’s what I watch and read Hayate for: it was sweet, funny, heartwarming and did put in some details that weren’t in the manga such as Hinagiku getting closer to Hayate and almost holding his hand and him sensing what she wanted to do. That was just great and really shows how far Hinagiku has developed up to now. Not onyl that but you also have the Hayate we all know and love acting as a nice guy realistically and not simply saving Hina from some huge robot like he usually did in season 1 with Nagi. The good stufff easily outshined the bad and if they just avoided the Ruka buts, this episode would have been equal in quality to the other seasons. However, I’d rate it an 8 out of ten for a Hayate episode. Can’t wait to see what Ruri wants and this black camelia thing.

Hey this thread is becoming pretty big ‘_’ .The 3 word story one got closed after 1016 postings. Will ours shut down down as well after more or less that many postings?.Would we all be notified were that to happen?.Will a “Who loves anime here 2” be formed as a result?.

wow, this is an big, and old, pretty old thread, i think.

only anime anime i really like is Baccano, even though it can be sick. I did watch Code Geass (it’s good if you watch it after 2:00 A.M.).

manga- Fullmetal Alchemist, Death Note, Gintama, Beelzebub, and Bleach, Gunslinger Girl, Naruto (yes, yes, i know), Blue Exorcist, stuff like that, formulaic shounan sans ai.
Currently: Durarararara- something.

Tried lots of others, but none seem to honestly work for me unless they can be funny at some point and not totally take themselves seriously most of the time, without trying to embarress the characters. Something like that.

I shall leave you to your pertinent topics.

Yes, comedy is essential! :rotfl:

Still liking Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun and Kamisama Kiss. the former is an example of a romantic comedy properly done, at least thus far.

Robotics;Notes is great as well. Liking the story, and I also like Akiho’s hairstyle. I’d like to see a real girl do that.

Why are threads closed when they get to a certain size?

I’m fearing it will get shut down. However, if it does, I DEFINITELY will post a ‘Who loves anime here number 2’, oh my gosh yes, definitely and I’d also list my favorite anime and manga. I myself can’t believe how many people have viewed it.

Say guys, did I mention that I’m attending a kendo class? In Rurouni Kenshin, doesn’t Yahiko always train by swinging his sword stepping forward and backwards at the same time? Yeah, they do just that in kendo. The only really hard part I’m having training it is with crouching. Man, is crouching hard for me. My left knee does have some strain and it hurts when I crouch although tensing it up does help. In Kenichi, Sakaki taught Kenichi how to use Gamaku. See it here although if you haven’t read Kenichi and don’t want to be spoiled, only read the page linked here and the 2 pages after it to avoid any spoilers: mangareader.net/337-23765-2/historys-strongest-disciple-kenichi/chapter-259.html Really clever.

I tend to think like you actually (hence, why I read things such as Fairy Tail). If not comedy, I wouldn’t mind a bit of romance (like in SAO) without excessive drama.

Hey guys, I know this has absolutely nothing to do with anime but I thought I’d post it. Here it is, a very, very funny video: youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=oEVfREVGcaY. It was so hilarious, I honestly nearly puked it was so funny!
