Who says the Bible is not to be taken literally?

Science is merely the study of God’s creation. Scientific studies claiming that what’s written in the Bible is false, are junk science from incompetent or simply mistaken scientists.

This may be helpful - It’s from Jimmy Akin’s book ‘A Daily Defense’ (Although it intially argues the complete opposite of the OP)

The whole concept is rooted on that 6 day creation.
The whole concept of what—Genesis as the story of Creation and the Fall, the Bible as a collection of inspired books, or salvation history as told in the Bible?

Troll? I’m simply raising a question.
Do you think it’s possible that the modern scientists who claims the Earth is billions of years old are wrong and that God would not give us false information?

I suppose you should be congratulated on a successful troll, but . . .
It’s not successful, TBH. A successful troll isn’t so blatant and easily outed.
To me, a successful troll uses guerilla tactics, like a sniper. A well-placed post can sow discord and rankle people and escape unnoticed.

Or maybe you’re bored and want some entertainment. I gotta tell ya, you’re going to end upsetting yourself.

Do you think it’s possible that the modern scientists who claims the Earth is billions of years old are wrong and that God would not give us false information?
Ooh, a leading question! God doesn’t lie to us, but He doesn’t give us all the answers at once either. To the first part of your question, depends. What scientific rebuttal do you have against that scientist’s claim? What exactly does that scientist use to support his claim?

I have not been “outed”. Maybe you think being rude and smug means you’re correct. But your rudeness proves only that you lack manners. Your intellectual ability has not afforded you one victory because the Earth took 6days to create.
Since you’re so intellectually superior, answer this simple question.
Why would God give us false information?

Have you noticed that within the last 1000 years when you read the history of science, science has had to change their story again and again through out history.
That’s called “new discoveries” and “expanding our knowledge.”
Maybe you’d rather live back in 1000 B.C., but I’m rather fond of electricity, and cars, and not having to weave my own cloth.

By the way, @MikeySee, you do realize that it’s science that made it possible for you to deny it on the internet, right?

Theory means it’s heavily supported by evidence. Theory is not hypothesis.

If the Bible is always literal, it is wrong. After all, the Sun cannot stand still in the sky, since it’s not moving; we’re just spinning. Or do you also reject heliocentrism?

If you want to be literal about the Bible, then do you observe the Sabbath day, Saturday, or only the Lord’s day, Sunday? If not the Sabbath day, why not since the Bible says literally to do so? Same for the dietary laws: do you observe them? The Bible literally says to do so, and Jesus did so. If you do not, why not?

Also, was Jesus speaking literally when he said that God is like an unjust judge? What about when he said the Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed? Do we have to believe that the Kingdom of God actually began as a tiny physical seed, and it is now a large bush? Why would God decide to have a large bush for a kingdom? Kind of lacks grandeur if you ask me.

That’s the better ones.
🤣

It did get a number of people to take it seriously, and he’s been more deft than most at diverting attention from his moving the target . . .

Hey, we could have a pool on how long it takes to get locked . . . I’ll take 8PM, PST (11 EST).

😜😱🤯

“The Bible teaches us how to go to Heaven, not how the heavens go.”

*at least it’s attributed to him and it could be paraphrased

I don’t think your parish priest would approve of you being rude to people. I’m not being rude, I’m taking about the science of the Earth’s creation.
People can believe differently and have an honest discussion about those differences. That’s what intelligent people do , that’s how to learn.
Why would God tell us 6 days if it was not?

How did you draw the conclusion that the sun is always in the same place? How could you possibly know that?

@MikeySee Did you see the book scan I posted earlier? Maybe take a look at that…
