Who will you be supporting in the U.S. presidential election with our Catholic values in mind?

Ginsberg & Breyer are the only SCOTUS judges in their 80s. Thomas is 3rd oldest at 71.
I thought that Clarence Thomas was planning to retire? I seem to remember a series of stories that one of the networks did about his life and his plans to retire from the Supreme Court soon.

Am I imagining things? It’s possible–lots of family issues the last six months involving elderly parents-in-law who keep having medical issues and getting hospitalized and requiring lots of home care (from me and my husband). So I’m a little loopy/exhausted lately. 🙃

I hadn’t heard that. Justice Kennedy was the last to retire, and was replaced with Kavenaugh.
Yes, you’re right. I just googled it and found two fairly-recent articles in which Justice Thomas scoffs at the “rumors” of his pending retirement. Good for him!

I probably heard those rumors on ABC–the most liberal network in the non-cable world!

No, the point is that with the tax cut the person is more likely to perform individual charity (compared to no tax cut)
With people who have very large amounts of income and wealth after taxes, I see no reason for having a few extra % making a major difference in their charitable giving.

That has to do with individual responsibility to poor , sick, in jail , etc, not government responsibility
Okay, but when are people going to exercise their individual responsibility to help those in need with their astronomically high medical bills? Or provide an income that a single mother with multiple children can live on?

Some people are fortunate they have friends or family that can help them if they get sick or injured, but many who lack insurance or lose their job do not.
