I don’t know of any “growing war” in the Republican party. I do know that there is a field of candidates all vying for the nomination. The only Republican who has spoken ill of another Republican is Newt Gingrich and he got pilloried for it.

Well, the campaign has only just started. We’ll see how things look next January. But given the split within the Republican Party, we could be in for a roller coaster of a ride.

There is not “war”. It is an in-family fight and when they are done beating eachother up, the rest will fall in line to support the winner. Its how the process works. Unlike the Democratic Party, where the media picks the winner and then crowns him/her with a halo, the GOP contender actually has to get bruised and dirty.

It’s not one sided there Scott. They all put party affiliations ahead of any issue.
YOu heard the clamouring that the Democratics did when Bush was off saving the world from itself. Now that their guy is in charge, what happened? The Wars against Anti-Americanism are now suddenly legitimate?

Have you missed the Republican clamoring over the action initiated in Libya? To take Saddam Hussein out was humanitarian…

It’s partisan politics, the same as no matter which party is the majority, ‘they blame the other side for blocking their good intentions’. and nothing gets done.

I can’t argue here. 👍

Point, the two party system sucks.

I suggest they put their own reelections ahead of anything else, the country be darned.
That’s a matter of opinion, Mary. Unless a politician is an out and out crook, he or she will tend to believe that what they are doing is right for their constituency and the country and so need to be re-elected over and over again.

The country be damned is how their opponents characterize their purposes.

I was trying to make the point that the economy was inherited and cannot be totally this administration’s fault. We were already spiraling before he went into office. Of course partisans will spin it to be the others fault even though they ALL are at fault.
Oh, so you did have a point and just didn’t say it. 🤷 Well yes the economy was sliding before Obama took office, but I don’t see how that makes it “partisan” to admit that he’s only done things to make it worse.

We have to look to timing to determine if they were partisan statements. As I remember, he was accused before he even took office.

Once again, I am not taking up for one party over another. I believe our problem is the two party system. It doesn’t matter who is majority, they will blame the minority for blocking them from accomplishing anything. Until we stop seeing ‘partisans’ and start seeing individuals, the problem will continue. I don’t care what your affiliation is, if elected get in there and work together. If they can’t do that, throw 'em out.

The mudslinging and blame game has crept over to the voters. How blind can we be to play the game that is keeping us from progression?

I think people just need to shut up with Republican or Democrat, there is very little difference nowadays and anyone should know that. It’s either BIG evil or slightly-less-big evil - our whole governmental system is corrupt right now and no political party is going to stop that. As a poster above me said, we need to start looking for individuals and we need to judge them according to their character. For instance, Mr. Weiner = pervert = lacking in self control = get the heck out of the office you don’t deserve = throw him out and get back to REAL news. Our moral decay is the highest priority at this time - if you lose morals you lose order, which is exactly what Obama and many other nut-jobs want. Money can be taken care of AFTER we stop Marxist propaganda in the classroom and secure our borders. BTW, I am only 15 and I can see this **** everywhere, where the hell are the adults??? Does no one have common sense anymore?

P.S. I don’t know why there is a word censored in there, as I did not say anything explicit

There’s a split within the Republican party? I see a group of candidates vying for the nomination. They have some stylistic differences, and some might stress one issue more than another, one might be more or less conservative then the other, but on the whole, I believe they agree on the basics. Perhaps some of the more obscure candidates have bigger differences but I think they’re pretty much inconsequential anyway.

Well I suppose you mean back to the Fifties without all the lynching and denial of civil rights for those of us blessed with a little extra melanin in our skin, right?
Why is it that some people see racism in everything.:banghead:

Obama and Clinton beat each other up pretty good.
