I only recently learned about Hugh Hewitt, because National Review rated his blog as one of the best. Then I found out that his show is on locally. I enjoy it.
THanks for the links to Dennis Prager, I will definitely try to track him down on the dial. Interesting about Larry Elder. I don’t listen regularly and the subject of abortion has just never been part of the discussion.

He was popular and KABC over time brought him to the prime spot opposite Rush. He moved to KRLA which is the old Catholic radio network that folded and is broadcasting out of there now nationwide, still opposite Rush. Medved follows him on that station here.
Wow, KRLA was Catholic? They were the big rock n roll station when I grew up there in the 60s. I would love to be able to hear Dennis Prager since I love his writing. I may try to stream him in from the station’s web site.

I’ve loved Rush since I first heard him back in 1991 on a road trip. Folks, he’s not entirely serious, he is high-camp, the pomposity is faked, and I tend think he really is the harmless fuzzy little fur-ball he claims to be, not some malignant Father Coughlin character. He’s telling us that with all the golf talk.

BUT that said, it does become hard to listen to him sometimes. I want to tell him to jack down, he just gets so carried away. So I switch to O’Reilly more often now because he acts halfway cool but I know he’s a bad Catholic!

I hear Savage once in a while and I really do like him–now THAT’s a bomb-thrower!

But my favorite is Laura Ingraham, who is SO funny, and really kept me laughing with her sound byte contest all during the election. She really did well by herself on all the talk show panels too. She is one smart lady. I’m listening to her right now. 👍

I generally don’t like syndicated radio, so I listen to relatively little of these hosts. But I am a radio geek, so I;ve checked most of them out.

Rush is a consumate radio entertainer. Can’t stand him, but he’s great at what he does.

Used to listen a bit to Hugh Hewitt until I found a good jazz show that’s on at the same time. Overall, I think he is probably one of the better conseravtive talkers.

The guy I really like is Bruce DuMont:

Locally, I listen to Tom Roeser’s “Political Shootout” and sometimes Deborah Rowe. Deborah’s a good radio person, inteligent, and articulate.

My favorite Radio-talk Show Host is Laura Ingraham. She’s very intelligent and very witty. I’m always laughing as well as being informed. She’s not afraid to talk about her Catholic faith either(she’s a convert like myself). If you’ve never listened to her please do (she’s on @ 9:00 a.m. in my area) and you’ll have a “Healthy Radio Addiction”, too!

I chose Rush, but I’m really surprised more don’t like Bill Bennet (my second favorite). I’d like to see a ranking…

They ALL give me a headache! They talk and their mission is to divide us. Tune out and tune in to EWTN…

Felix, it might be that some of these hosts are not available in many markets. Rush I think has more stations and so more exposure. I didn’t even know Bill Bennett had a radio program. How do I find it?

The only time I’ve heard Bill Bennet’s show on is at 5 a.m. when I’m driving to the gym. Out here, his show should be called “Barely Morning in America.”

Michael Savage. He doesn’t shine Bush’s shoes like Rush and Hannity. He’s the reason I’m not a liberal…

Personally, Michael Savage makes me laugh. Sometimes he rants about the dumbest things, but they usually lead to a point he’s trying to make. I’m glad my area has The Savage Nation on five nights a week, right after Hannity. I also like Hannity, but I like him better on TV. But then before him there’s O’Reilly (who I personally don’t care for), and Mike Gallagher (he’s a riot, too). I try to listen to Hannity, Gallagher, and Savage as much as possible, but it doesn’t always work.

Anyone but Rush Limbaugh. I only listened to him one time, a long time ago. He went on and on about how great the tobacco industry was, and how it was being victimized. He said that parents who let their children play soccer were worse people than tobacco. I declared that I would never listen again, and I haven’t.

Sorry smokers, but I’m not a fan of tobacco. It has killed to many friends and relatives, and caused too much pain. I also let my children play soccer, guess that makes me really terrible.
This is why you need to listen with a sense of humor. Rush isn’t really against soccer. It’s really just a funny spoof he does about the “dangers of soccer,” and has a fictional anti-soccer campaign called Keep Our Own Kids Safe. KOOKS. It’s all in jest. Sometimes we need to just have a laugh.

I’ve just begun listening to Laura Ingraham, because I didn’t know she existed! Her program is on during dinner time, when the radio is off. Now, I try to remember to tune in every now and again because I really, really like to listen to her.

I like Medved, too. Wish these folks were on while the kids were in school. Then I could pay better attention to the radio.

As it is, all I can pull in during the day is Glenn Beck and Limbaugh, but they’re entertaining. I don’t have the radio on every day, either…
