Is JESUS CHRIST the son of God is He not the firstborn of every creature?
Now, read your statement again and tell me what’s wrong with it.
Did God not creat the angels? = by my understanding that makes them His offspring. Will not some of us become angels?
Yes, God created the angels; and NO, none of us will become angels. Neither Christians nor Mormons teach that people become angels.
Are we not children of God? = that then by my understanding makes us siblings with the angles. Sorry pal but satan is your brother weather you like it or not get used to it
Yes, we are all children of God; and no, angels are not our brothers in the same context that all mankind can be viewed as being brothers. Angels are a different species of creation and serve an entirely different function in God’s plan.

I’m a bit ashamed of some of my fellow Catholics, here. I asked Ronald several questions, and he gave pretty straight answers. To two of them he actually said “Yes.” I don’t recall any of our other Mormon friends giving a straight yes or no answer to similar questions, anywhere on these forums.

Refuting his answers is fine; belittling him personally, and Mormons in general, is not. It is contrary to charity, which I believe is one of the cardinal virtues…:tsktsk:.

There. I’m through being a “charity cop.” Play nice, y’all. 🤷

But your portrayal of how Mormons think is not consistent with the scripture I quoted, so either Mormons aren’t reading their scriptures (which is certainly a possibility) or you are misrepresenting how Mormons think.
we do understand that because of their following false text they have false thinking on these issues.

Yes, God created the angels; and NO, none of us will become angels. Neither Christians nor Mormons teach that people become angels.
Actually, Mormonism does teach that some people become angels.

*"Therefore, when they are out of the world they neither marry nor are given in marriage; but are appointed angels in heaven, which angels are ministering servants, to minister for those who are worthy of a far more, and an exceeding, and an eternal weight of glory.

For these angels did not abide my law; therefore, they cannot be enlarged, but remain separately and singly, without exaltation, in their saved condition, to all eternity; and from henceforth are not gods, but are angels of God forever and ever."*

- D&C 132:16-17
Thanks.

So do Mormon’s hold that angels are celestial virgins with bodies and all that? What law of God did they not obey? Why would they be rewarded for not obeying?

I fully agree. Not to mention that the posts have denigrated to a new low for the forums in general.

Anything on this subject would be speculation.

Marriage.

They wouldn’t be.
So not marrying is a sin. What if you cannot find anyone willing to put up with you? What if you smell bad and are a jerk?

I take it this is based on the Mormon Scriptures.
Yes. Remember that the angel Moroni was formerly the prophet Moroni (one of the prophets in the Book of Mormon).

Also, here is a passage from the D&C:
15 Therefore, if a man marry him a wife in the world, and he marry her not by me nor by my word, and he covenant with her so long as he is in the world and she with him, their covenant and marriage are not of force when they are dead, and when they are out of the world; therefore, they are not bound by any law when they are out of the world.
16 Therefore, when they are out of the world they neither marry nor are given in marriage; but are appointed angels in heaven, which angels are ministering servants, to minister for those who are worthy of a far more, and an exceeding, and an eternal weight of glory.
17 For these angels did not abide my law; therefore, they cannot be enlarged, but remain separately and singly, without exaltation, in their saved condition, to all eternity; and from henceforth are not gods, but are angels of God forever and ever.

You may have heard about baptism for the dead. Well, Mormons can do all of the other ordinances that way too.

Yes, you too can get to the highest level of Mormon heaven without even trying.
You are right, I knew about the baptism for dead. But, not marriage. Can they even preform repentance for the dead?

There’s no way of knowing how repentant a person on the other would be (just as there is no way of knowing if a person accepts of rejects any proxy ordinance), but yes, excommunicated people can be posthumously reinstated.
So, there is no moral dilemma for the ones who preform these rites, not even knowing in most if not all cases the state of mind of the individual?

Do they disagree with free will? (sorry to ask what most may know already)

Given enough time before the final judgment, I figure any excommunicated soul who wants to be reinstated will have the chance. Especially if, during the millennium, you could just materialize in front of the prophet and pester him until he caves in.
quite the imagination

The lds church has a powerful message
It is in fact so powerful that all you really have to do is hear about it and you realize that it must be stopped for the good of all mankind.
and a powerful beginning.
Involving a con artist, murder, a fake “prophetic” book, and racism.
Those who received a witness of the book of mormon and turn away seem not to be able to leave the lds church alone.
For very good reason, the book of mormon is a huge lie trust onto the world. It is the enemy of AllMighty God.
The church that they once loved seems to turn to hate. Sad and not very christian.
Lord Jesus calls us to be Holy, to be Perfect in fact. Our love for God causes us to hate sin and want the sinner to mend their ways. Preacing lies is a sin and I wish the lds would stop doing that. Calling your lies what they are is not unchristian, it is in fact very Christian. If I know that you are sinning but say nothing to you and just let you go to hell, I am a very evil person. However, I love God and therefore I do as God commands which is to love my neighbor. That includes loving lds members, some of whom are my family members. It is because I love you that I MUST tell you that you are wrong and that you do not know the one true Lord Jesus Christ. I must show to you the authentic real Jesus who is a real person, a real living breathing person. I must show to you the true commands of God and I must tell you to live your life in accordence with those commands.

On a side note, telling me lies is Sad and not very Christian. I tend to not like people who lie to me. (Like and love are two completely different actions in case you are mounting a liars counter attack.)

All Mighty God is not a created being, He is GOD. He does not live on the planet Kolob. Satan and Lord Jesus are not brothers. Lord Jesus is not a created being. The Holy Spirit is not a created being. Satan is a created being, and was defeated by Michael. Lord Jesus didn’t even have to lift a finger.

Lds morality is not Christian morality that has been taught consistently by the Catholic Church for 2000 years. Divorce is Wrong. Racism is Wrong. Palygamy is Wrong. Selfishness is Wrong.

And here is the really big one from where I stand. Native Americans are not Jews. We did not have horses before whites came here and we did not ride on elephants. We did have false gods but they were not the same false gods of the Cannanites in the old testament. We did not immolate our children. And last but not least, NONE OF US WERE WHITE. We were not white then, we are not white now and we do not want to be white.

And really, let us thank God that the Catholic Church, and only the Catholic Church by the way, was finally able to come and preach the Gospel of Lord Jesus to us so that we could end out ways and come to believe, something that the lds still needs to do. I thank God everyday that members of my race are able to participate in the covanant that God extends to us by the blood of His son through the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. He is now our God and we are His people and we will be faithful.

I am glad to hear that if the intent of the person (would I be wrong to say soul here?) is not agreeable to the rite preformed by proxy, then the rite is useless, and has no effect.
Then why, do people get so upest with these rites?
If mormons claimed the rites had effect on those who did not wish for them to be taken on their behalf, then I could see the objection.
But, if as you say they do not make this claim, what in fact is the objection really?

Maybe its as simple as bigotry? Or lack of information?

It could be both I guess.
