From a Lutheran, if that is where the Holy Spirit is leading you, by all means follow. May His blessings meet you at the door, and the altar.

Jon
It wouldn’t be a door cluttered with postings, I hope.

Bring the beer, bring the brats, leave the Thesis and we will all be happy 😛

Do Lutherans treat the Theses the same way most Anglicans treat the Articles? As a kind of historical curiosity without much real world impact or veneration.

No, NO, NO!

😦 It’s Friday. WHY DO THE LUTHERANS WANT TO COOK SUCCULENTLY ON FRIDAY?!!! 😦 TriuneUnity had BBQ or something a few months ago. 😦 😦

6 hours 34 minutes.
This reminds me of one of my favorite jokes. A Protestant moves into an entirely Catholic neighborhood, and on the first Friday of Lent he decides to use his grill for the first time. So he buys a stack of steaks and throws them on his hot grill, and the smell of searing beef drives the Catholics crazy. After three weeks of this, they send the local priest and deacon to the man’s door and ask if he would like to convert to Catholicism. To their surprise, he accepts and is baptized, with the deacon praying over him and the priest saying, “You were born Baptist, you were raised Baptist, and now you are Catholic.”

The next Friday, the smell of searing beef fills the neighborhood again, and the priest and deacon go around back of the man’s house. There they see him standing over the grill, throwing water on the beef and saying, “You were born a cow, you were raised a cow, and now you are a fish.”😉

The 95 Theses are not part of the Lutheran Confessions. They were written as an invitation to debate, not as a system of belief. Most Lutherans have probably never read the 95 Theses and, if they do, they will probably end up scratching their heads over most of them.

I am here because I have a wonderful boyfriend who is Catholic. My parents are Atheists so I have been raised in a non-religious household so I have been researching the Catholic faith in order to better understand my boyfriend 🙂

Ralph, I can’t believe you would question my motives and sincerity in this way. Now my feelings are hurt. 😦 😃

Deal.

I mean, apart from for the great coffee and cookies, the wit, the repartie, - why else are non catholics here?
We feel bad for you Catholics having to go through Purgatory, and we’re trying to give you a head start (by annoying you here on earth as much as possible), so you can hurry up and join us in heaven:p

To learn more about the RCC and to have a chance to speak with the famed ag_not, of course.

That’s very considerate of you. :thankyou:

Of course, since Protestants will almost certainly spend more time, on average, in Purgatory than Catholics will, I’m sure you won’t mind if we Catholic posters are even more annoying than the Protestant posters. 👍 🙂

According to my mother I’m here cause I like to argue with Catholics. 😛

I first came here to look up something and found some preposterous things being said about us Protestants. I HAD to register to explain that those things were in fact preposterous.

After that I got addicted to CAF. I have tried to deCAF but it appears impossible.

Perhaps my mother is correct after all…

A question about what Catholics would call a mixed marriage brought me. I’ve had experiences with fundamental Evangelics and Muslims before this is the first time I’ve run into the Catholic variety

I am here because catholics have been extremely helpful in defending the life in the womb. Consistantly, and forever will be.🙂
At least we won’t have to argue, because I am not a catholic yet.
