Their souls are in danger if they are in mortal sin, just as a heterosexual would be.What about themselves.
Do you think that they are at risk of harming their eternal souls?
I have yet to find any passage in the bible which states that homosexual behavior is ok or that fornication is ok, in fact I find quite the opposite,
I find the bible stating that fornicators will not enter heaven.
Maybe you disagree with what the bible teaches quite clearly, but what if you are wrong, isn’t that putting them in harms way?
We have to go to the Church’s teaching on what constitutes mortal sin, i.e. it must be grave and must be committed with full knowledge and consent. Do homosexuals have full knowledge, when what they are told goes against what they see themselves as being? I can’t answer that, because I really don’t know.
The problem with looking solely to Scripture for the answer is that Scripture also says that homosexuals and adulterers, should be taken out of the city and stoned to death. We don’t want to go there do we?
In all, I just try to do my best, but as a sinner myself, who’s pretty good at failing against my own temptations, I’m in no place to judge anyone else.
In all, we must trust in the mercy of Jesus Christ. In fact, in St. Faustina’s diary she wrote that the Lord told her, the one thing that offends Him the most, is people do not trust in His mercy.
If you accept and trust in the mercy of Jesus Christ, you will show mercy to others. Not showing mercy and compassion for others, is greater than any sins against the flesh, in my opinion.
God Bless
