Why are you against equal marriage? I was asked this question and wanted to see what you guys would have answered.
Because God is.Why are you against equal marriage? I was asked this question and wanted to see what you guys would have answered.
I can’t marry my dog.
I can’t marry my brother.
I can’t marry Bob AND Ted.
I can’t marry Sue.
I can’t marry a 10 year old.
But, I love them.
Am I being discriminated against? No.
Only one group is trying to remake their disordered desires into something that is a “right”. Although, these other groups-- such as NAMBLA, those in favor of polygamy, and other disordered ideas of marriage and sexuality-- will plead their case if this particular disorder is successful.
Perfect answer.Marriage, as a civil institution, is given favored status under the law for the specific purpose of stabilizing society and raising children.
These disordered lifestyles do nothing to stabilize society or raise children up as future productive citizens. Therefore they should not be given preferential tax status, which is the primary advantage of “marriage”. Property rights, inheritance, etc, can be accomplished without “marriage”.
If society is going to confer a status on individuals that gives them a tax and other benefit advantage, society expects a return. This group gives no return. They do not need an incentive to procreate and they do not need tax preferred status to live in the same household.
Edited to add: “equal rights” is a complete red herring. Every adult in this country has the same legal right to marry. The government restricts who can validly join in a “marriage”. The government has that right. They can restrict Billl, Sue, and Ted from joining together in a “marriage” and the tax and other benefits these three receive as a result of attempting to claim that they are all three “married” to each other.
My Church which was founded by Jesus who was Truth incarnate. My Church says that so called gay “marriage” is disordered and will lead to much bigger problems within this already disordered secular society. I must remain obedient to my Church. Therefore I am against marriage “equality.”Why are you against equal marriage? I was asked this question and wanted to see what you guys would have answered.
Not weak logic at all. It is exactly this-- the lack of benefit and actual detriment to society-- that has homosexuals themselves in France protesting the idea of same sex marriage in that country.Weak logic but that’s all I have

A few years ago (2006?) I knew almost nothing about this topic. I happened to find some communities on Livejournal where most people were gays, lesbians and transgendered. Nothing secret or members-only. One thing was striking: the vast majority of their posts was about casual sex and sexual fantasies. Some posted “funny” porn - gay men having sex at various Gay Pride parades. Some told gay bar stories - how they got drunk, how they had sex at the toilet, how angry they were when various “f**ng breeders” dared to invade their space. There were serious talks about gay marriage, too, but I don’t remember reading anything about children and adoption. People were only trying to convince others that to be gay doesn’t equal sodomy and that gay marriage means that gay partners will enjoy the same rights granted to heterosexual couples (inheritance, insurance etc).Marriage, as a civil institution, is given favored status under the law for the specific purpose of stabilizing society and raising children.

“Because Holy Mother Church says so.” That’s what I say because to be honest people don’t want to listen and they just want to call me a bigot/homophobe. I just say I am following the Teaching of Christ’s Church. I don’t disagree with My Lord and SaviourWhy are you against equal marriage? You put your best face on when you are asking for something.A few years ago (2006?) I knew almost nothing about this topic. My question is: how come that all that universe suddenly disappeared? Instead of those people obsessed with casual sex, now we see only respectable, responsible, serious citizens talking about how much they love children and parenting. Gone are the kinky pics, the tantrums against “breeders”, the jokes about multiple partners and toilets. Now to be gay means Conjugal Fidelity & Best Parenting & Responsibility Towards Society. Can anyone explain me this change?
Posts like this amuse me hugely. To see a person take a premise which completely, self evidently false, and ask questions based on that premise, acting like an innocent answer-seeker, is actually rather hilarious.A few years ago (2006?) I think you misunderstood my post. Perhaps I should have specified that it was a rhetorical question and should have added aPosts like this amuse me hugely. First, what about freedom for the LGB people to marry? Second, Our republic is not based on the bible. The governmet didint have anything to do with marriage until someone wanted to keep blacks and whites from intermarrying, thus the first ever marriage liscense issued in 1870.Once gay marriage is the law, we will then be required to teach it, to support it, to allow those couples to adopt non-gay children. Such required acts go against our freedom to live according to our religious values. We will be required to act as if our Faith is no longer the most important part of our lives.
