Why cant Protestant ministers consecrate the bread to

You assume way too much. Isn’t this the same exact thing you accuse Protestants of when it comes to Catholic teaching? You are wrong about no Protestants being within Apostolic Succession as well. I don’t know, maybe you don’t consider Anglicans Protestant.
In the Catholic world, Anglican Orders were declared *“absolutely null and utterly void” *in 1896 by virtue of defect of form and intent,

That said, some Anglicans have “beefed up” their apostolic lines by going through the back door and having bishops consecrated by bishops with valid, though illicit Orders, such as the PNCC and Utrecht lines.

It gives some Anglicans valid orders but does not make Anglican Orders valid, if you get the difference.

you should just take a moment to listen to yourself.

I can tell you that Anglicans really don’t care whether you call their ordinations valid or invalid. They know that they are in Apostollic Succession.
That is an absolutely delirious statement.

I assure you, many Anglicans (such as those in the TAC) VERY much care about the validity of their Orders – validity as Understood by Rome.

Trust me. I have LIVED this.

I have been an Anglican for several years now and trust me, they don’t care what Rome thinks or does.

Your little circle may not care about Rome’s position. But listen to This June 16 interview with Dr. William Oddie, and you will see a different point of view.

You may have been an Anglican for “several years” but I assure you, you have been sheltered from the wider view.

Trust me. I have lived this.

And that’s why you’re spending so much time on this thread arguing with us about what we think, hmmm? Seems to me that you care a great deal - about getting us to agree with you if nothing else - you just don’t want to admit it.

The same old sales pitch isn’t going to work for obvious reasons.
Its the only “sales pitch” I know. Try and read C.S. Lewis’ “The worlds greatest salesman”.

I was born and raised a catholic. Had my ups and downs. Experienced the departure of my parents, sister and brother from catholicism. Dad died 10 years ago and my brother died a year after him…I know that now they know.

It made me a stronger, more determined and smarter catholic.

Pray the Rosary, daily.
Go to Confession, weekly
Recieve the Eucharist, weekly
Love and serve the Lord and be a witness onto others.

Catholic to my grave.

Pax Domini sit semper vobiscum.

C.S. Lewis was Anglican. Like I said earlier, it is only a sales pitch. I heard it for decades.

So then, this is just the typical ganging up on the Protestant that always seems to happen when we wish to present and defend our arguments. How about viable answers instead of just merely " jumping in"

Little circle? So then listening to sermons and talks with Bishop Venables from the Southern Cone Diocese of the Anglican Church and Archbishop Orombi of the Anglican Church of Uganda and Nicki Gumble from England is just merely a little circle?? None of these folks are talking about Rome or anything remotely attributable to Anglicans wishing to join with Rome on any level. I don’t think you know as much as you lead on.

Then hopefully you’ll be home (catholic church) before the Warning and the Miracle comes.

I pray that its way before the Chastisement.

I’ll keep dinner warm for ya’.

Regina coeli, ora pro nobis.

did you not understand that part?? C.S. Lewis was Anglican, not RCC.

C.S. Lewis upheld a largely orthodox Anglican theology, though in his apologetic writings, he made an effort to avoid espousing any one denomination. In his later writings, some believe he proposed ideas such as purification of venial sins after death in purgatory (The Great Divorce) and mortal sin (The Screwtape Letters), which are generally considered to be Catholic teachings.

Venial sin; mortal sin. I don’t think he was that committed to anglicanism.

Whatever your point…you seem to miss all the messges given to you on these threads.

Come home to a warm meal.

Pax.

When Lewis returned to the Church, he was a middle of the road
Anglican. His first major book, PILGRIM"S REGRESS, was brought out by a RC publishing house. That, together with some of the doctrine in the book, made some reviewers think he was an RC himself. Which irritated him at the time.

In his life, Lewis moved from a central position, steadily toward a more Anglo-Catholic postion (which is one form of Anglicanism), espousing the concept of purgation, as in LETTERS TO MALCOM (though the voice in LETTERS is not Lewis’ own, it is a logical conclusion that he believed in purgation), auricular confession, the Real Presence, and other points. For all that, he remained an Anglican. Like me.

I believe that is the reason he has such an appeal with catholics. Maybe all he needed was a couple more years of life to come full circle. Maybe in his soul…he died a catholic…for sure he knows now.

I think you are coming around also. Anglicanus Catholicus.

God bless you.

I am certain that in his soul he was a Catholic. Just not in communion with Rome.

Thank you for the blessing.

I recently heard an Evangelical.proclaim that had Lewis lived a little longer, he surely would have embraced full-blown Evangelical Christianity.

Of course, as a Catholic or as a High Church Anglican even, we KNOW that Lewis was a full-blown Evangelical just as we are.

Fair enough.

But Lewis himself was not a particularly High Anglican, making the distinction between ritual/churchmanship as “High” or “Low”, and doctrine, as Anglo-Catholic or reformed. In ritual, he remained pretty much middle of the road, never reaching the smells, bells and yells stage. But in doctrine he moved toward the Anglo-Catholic position on many points.

the body of Jesus and the wine to the blood of Jesus?
I see nowhere in the rules that it cant be done
I haven’t read all the responses, but in a nutshell the reason is that, for the most part, protestant church communities do not have validly ordained apostolic priests. Lack of apostolic succession means that the holy orders received by a protestant minister is insufficient to confer the power to confect the Eucharist.

If a Catholic priest otherwise validly ordained defects from the authority of the Catholic Church (as some have done), that priest can still confect the eucharist, even though the sacrament would be illicit.

Peace,
-Robert

Sales Pitch? Obvious reasons? Is that all you can say

Sia, get thee behind us Satan evil is the cup thy offer drink thine own poison.

Obviously you are not here to learn although Jesus is doing his best to bring you back home (Catholic Church) then again we all have our own free will.

Jesus Christ spoke well of YOU when he said “The gates of hell will not prevail against it.”.

Sia, try all you can with your “Sales Piches” against it, The Catholic Church, it will get you no where.
