Why can't the Jewish rebuild their temple?

Actually, I recently read a book that showed that the Temple can be built on the temple mount if they do not bulid the outer court. It can be down without destroying the Dome. It also quoted some Scripture that seemed to indicate the measurement but refered to “but leave out the outer court” (parapharse) and apology that i can’t remember the chapter and verse.

Not that the muslims would be happey about it. But that all has to do with the anti-chrsit who at first comes in peace and has a 7 year peace agreement with israel. Then he breaks it after 3 1/2 years.

The outer court of the temple was supposed for the Jews who “feel” that they have sins, and willing to seek forgiveness of God from there. During Jesus’ time, the outer court was filled by the money changers and sacrifice animal traders. That made Jesus upset, since practically those traders took the spaces intended for those who would like to repent their sins. How come a “third” temple can be built without the outer court?

Please read revelation 11:1-2. It speaks about rebuliding a temple without the court, saying it was for the gentiles (which is the muslims in this case) for a specific time period.

The 3 1/2 years is the mid-point of the tribulation. When anti-christ makes his appearence upon the world, it is as a man of peace. Some scholars believe that , because of the wars with Israel, which is shown to be a victor through their military power and with the help from God, a vialble peace paln is attained.

But in the custom of islam, it is quite acceptable to make false peace treaties with the infidel and jew. So that they can “re-group.” It is at this 3 1/2 year point that the treaty is broke. By now the temple is completed (whiich incidently jewish experts say will take 3 1/2 yrs) and anti-christ takes control of the temple and desecrates it by slaughtering a pig and claiming he is “god”. This is the 2nd half called the Great tribulation.

Is this all speculation or does the RCC teach this?

Gurney,

You have made my day and I think that you are really onto something. Thanks. Have a nice weekend.

Peace,
Graubo
You, too, Graubo. I’m glad you got a kick out of it. We just need to keep it light once in a while with a little Judeo-Christian humor! lol

The first temple was built by Salomon under the guidance of God. When the Jews turned away from God, the temple was destroyed during the Babylonian conqueror. The Jews went back to God, and the temple was rebuilt under Ezra and Nehemia. That temple was destroyed again in 70AD by the Roman. Even after 1939 years and the Jewish has become a nuclear weapon owner, they can’t rebuild their temple. Does it mean they have not turn back toward God?
There is no need for another temple since Christ’s death served as an everlasting sacrifice.

But, hypothetically speaking, if the Jews were to rebuild their temple, they would need to look for a sign from God, in the form of a spotless red heifer. (See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Heifer)

It is not what the Roman catholic church leans towards, as they are more of an amillinial church.

However, it is not dogma, so prophecy concerning the end times can be studied without breaking any church law.

Anything having to do with future events can only be a speculation, unless you yourself are a prophet. Which is unlikely. So i look to those who have put much time and study into the customs, language roots, and reading of other texts .

I love my church very much and have no intention of ever leaving it.

They can try to rebuild their temple, like they did after 70 AD (but a pillar of fire burned the site), but than there is the problem of the mosque.

Why do you think they failed, brother? Or perhaps, what was the true meaning of the pillar of fire burned the site?

Who knows. But we can ask God to show them the real Third Temple: Jesus Christ.

in the Quran,God mentioned the Temple (the mosque was not yet built)…so in my opinion, I don’t think there is anything wrong with letting the Jews rebuilding the temple on the site of the mosque…but I may be wrong…

Glory to ((Allah)) Who did take His servant for a Journey by night from the Sacred Mosque to the farthest Mosque, whose precincts We did bless,- in order that We might show him some of Our Signs: for He is the One Who heareth and seeth (all things).
*
we see in this ayah that the temple is blessed and one of Allah’s signs*

Personally you may allow them to rebuild their temple on the site of the Mosque. But, what about the Muslims authority there?

maybe this is a political issue more than religious…say the area became Jewish…then what would keep Muslims living in Jerusalem…they would be kicked out since they have nothing to claim…just my opinion

I meant for the Jewish, brother.
Even for the Jewish, there would be no need for sacrifices. Jesus died for their sins as well. They could sacrifice all the goats and lambs they want in the temple, it really wouldn’t do anything except kill lambs and goats and maybe make the Jews feel better about themselves. They would think that they are sacrificing their sins away, but in reality, that was done when Jesus was crucified.

It means that they are not vicious and brutal people and/or that they care about world opinion.

The problem is, they don’t believe that Jesus died for them too. They even protested the Pope because he was praying for them.

A temple is not just a glorified synagog. It does not resemble a Mormon temple, or a cathedral or a mosque. It is built to handle large numbers of small animals, the blood and the offal and the bones, the wood and the oil, the smoke and enormous quantities of washing water. Then there are the noises and the smells.

Not to mention the enormous vaults for donations in cash and kind, the accountants and the guards.

I wonder if the Jewish people in general look forward to making small animal sacrifices?

Is it still relevant to their faith?

Religious Reasons:
  1. Animal sacrifices are imperfect, so much that they are now an abomination. They are no longer desired, a greater, perfect sacrifice was needed.
“To what purpose do you offer me the multitude of your victims, saith the Lord? I am full, I desire not holocausts of rams, and fat of fatlings, and blood of calves, and lambs, and buck goats” - Isaias 1:11
  1. The Son is the perfect sacrifice to the Father, which complements the point made above. That is why we call Christ the Lamb of God. The perfect sacrifice to the Father.
“And beholding Jesus walking, he saith: Behold the Lamb of God.” - John 1:36
  1. The Temple is merely an earthly figure of this world. Christ came and told us that his kingdom was not of this world, but of the next. Building a Temple is not necessary for the Kingdom.
“Jesus answered: My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would certainly strive that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now my kingdom is not from hence.” - John 18:36
  1. The new “temple” is the members of the Body of Christ. The people of God are the Temple, not a building.
“Know you not, that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” - 1 Corinthians 3:16

Plus there’s also a really good practical reason. Two of the most important mosques stand on the Temple foundation. Knocking them down would probably cause World War III. However the Spiritual reasons should suffice.

Laus Deo
