Catholics have rejected Gods times and Gods season therfore have thrown away the compass and clock God uses.
Dude, you are way out of line. We could level the same charge at you, for you have rejected God’s One True Church
This is what I have been trrying to educate you on. …
It is you who desperately needs the education

I am so very thankful that the Church turned a pagan holiday into a celebration of my Savior !!! I wonder how many pagans became Christians because of it? And here we are, years & years later and nobody even thinks about some false Sun-god… they think of Christ… even if they don’t want to… His story is everywhere. On TV, in nativity scenes, on the radio, in cards we send to loved ones… Hisalone, if we had it YOUR way and his birth wasn’t celebrated all of that would go away. Satan would be so very pleased to see that happen, wouldn’t he? Ever think of that Hisalone?

Here’s the song I heard on the SECULAR radio station yesterday… what an awesome message for all to hear!!!

What Child is this who, laid to rest
On Mary’s lap is sleeping?
Whom Angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?

[CHORUS]
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and Angels sing;
Haste, haste, to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

Why lies He in such mean estate,
Where ox and *** are feeding?
Good Christians, fear, for sinners here
The silent Word is pleading.

[CHORUS]

Nails, spear shall pierce Him through,
The cross be borne for me, for you.
Hail, hail the Word made flesh,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

[CHORUS]

So bring Him incense, gold and myrrh,
Come peasant, king to own Him;
The King of kings salvation brings,
Let loving hearts enthrone Him.

[CHORUS]

Raise, raise a song on high,
The virgin sings her lullaby.
Joy, joy for Christ is born,
The Babe, the Son of Mary

Scot Hahn has many times referenced the importance of how the Old Testament prefigures the New. And the posting about the physical location of the sheep, is perhaps more important than the actual date, because it would prefigure Christ being born “The Lamb of God” in the same area as the pastures from which the Temple Lambs were likewise born. Thank you T.E. for that posting, I will track down that book for a good read.
Even a blind squirrel stumbles on a nut once in awhile so Scott Hahn has stumbled unto this truth.

Dude, you have apparently abandoned any attempt to reason intelligently, and have now descended to merely offering insults in every post. This is proof that you have been proven wrong. If you are really a Christian as you claim to be, you will not continue to spew insults at other Christian brethren.

Pride is what caused Lucifer to fall. Humility is what Christ calls for. Try a little less of the former and a little more of the latter

Irish_Catholic;5989938:
The Magi didnt get there at the time of Christ birth but probably soe time later.
LOL. They brought gifts to an empty Manger? Who did they give the gifts to?

I assume you have a scripture to back that up that assertion? Or are you just making stuff up out off thin air in order to support your erroneous POV.

Scripture please: Chapter and verse

:christmastree1:Celebrate Christ the one true Light and get rid of false pagan worship of the sun god. Thats it!!! Catholics are not interested in this sun god except those so called christians who keep bringing it up. It seems they want to help somebody who can disguise himself as the angel of light. Just be honest with yourself please and read the true history, avoid prejudice. :amen::blessyou:

I have broken no rules but have only spoken the truth.
Lev 23 God gives Moses His appointed times and feasts.
Do you celebrate these? NO
So you have rejected them.
These feasts and times were given by God as a sign and as a type or foreshadowing of all he is doing is about to do.
Your mind set prevents you from understanding the ways of God.

I should have put a little smiley to soften my words.

The GOD we worship is Omnipotent. He made the times. He does not need clock and compass. Maybe yours do???:confused:

The magi saw the star and traveled from Babylon to Bethlehem how long did that take?

This is what scriptures says:Matt 2:11After coming into the house they saw the Child with (I)Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and (J)worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Note nothing about a manger.

And nothing about him not being a new-born baby. You are merely making an assumption

At any rate, I shouldn’t have gone off on this line of reasoning, because it is totally irellevant. We celebrate the birth of Christ liturgically. They day on which we do it is neither here nor there. No one knows the exact date anyway, so does that mean we shouldn’t celebrate his birth at all, just because we don’t know the exact date? Poppycock!

And besides all that, here is the most fundamental point: The Catholic Church has the Christ-given authority to “bind and loose”. Therefore, when She proclaims a Holy Day, the faithful are bound. It is not the place of any individual to reject that which has been bound by the Apostles’ successors.

The Jewish authorities before Christ had the authority to bind and loose. When Jesus came He held them accountable for what they allowed and what they forbade.
We as Christs’ Church have that authority and also are held accountable as to how we use it.

Very interesting… …if you are Jewish. I am not

And when the time comes that Jesus returns and holds the Church accountable for any sins She has commited, then I will listen. But that day has not come, and you are not Jesus.

You do not judge: You obey

He gave them to His people not for Him but for His people.
:DWe are his people that’s why we have a litturgical calendar and a civil calendar. Aren’t you using the same calendar, the one the Catholics use???:confused::extrahappy:
