Why couldn't Mary Magdalene hold onto Jesus?

Scripture and doctrine has many paradoxes, but no contradictions. Christianity is about communion, and not union, exactly; the eastern esoteric philosophies (dharmic beliefs like Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism) are about a union with the ultimate reality (pantheistic or nihilistic) that effectively absorbs the self. Communion — communio (“perichoresis”) retains the fulfilled individual personal autonomy in a personal relationship. We are not to “hold onto” Christ but to join in the communion of saints that He made possible by completing the glorification of his humanity in the Ascension. Jesus told Mary Magdalene to go and share the gospel with the Apostles. It’s a striking and succinct scene that illustrates the mission of the church.

Why did his glorified body still have the marks from his crucifixion? May be a simple answer that he chose to keep them to show his passion or something. But you would think a glorified body wouldn’t have those marks.

Something else that confuses me about this verse is he commands Mary to go tell the disciples he is ascending to the Father.
Fine.
But then he makes appearances to the rest of them and then hangs out for 40 days before he does ascend. So why the rush for Mary to go announce he is going to ascend when that won’t happen for over six weeks? If it weren’t for Acts I’m not sure what we would think about the time Christ spent on earth afterwards. The Gospels almost make it out like Jesus may have hung around for a few days to a week and then ascended. Even the end of Luke sounds like that and then you find out more in the first chapter of Acts clarifying it. One of the greatest mysteries is what other things Christ did during those 40 days. We obviously know some but the gospels make it clear he did many other things that couldn’t even fit in all the books of the world.

She needed to let go of him here on earth so that she would be better able to “see” him after the ascension.

St Thomas Aquinas in his Summa Tehologiae wrote that the glorified soul would have complete dominion over the body and the body would have certain unique features, such as agility and subtlety.

Yes, and Jesus demonstrated these qualities with his glorified body in Scripture. For example, he would appear suddenly in the midst of his Apostles, or he would suddenly disappear like he did with the two disciples at Emmaus. The body is no longer bound by physical limitations when it comes to traveling, or passing through a locked door. In addition it is believed that Jesus looked more physically beautiful when he returned in his glorified body; Mary Magdalene and the Emmaus disciples did not recognize him when first seeing him. But the glorified body could still do human things such as eat food. Jesus makes a point of eating some fish in front of the Apostles to show that he was there in physical form and not just as a spirit.
