Why did Mary specifically mention Russia in Fatima?

The spread of atheism is not only in Russia. Here, where I live, which is far far away from Russia, atheism is majority
 
I just wondered why Mary would mentioned Russia specifically, a big communist power, and not a different communist power like China?
Russia was the leader of the USSR, and the two political entities were used interchangeably in regular parlance. During the era of the USSR it was a bigger threat to the world than the PRC was, and was more expansionist as well.
 
This thread presupposes some acceptance of Catholicism. It presupposes acceptance or compatibility on some level of the private revelation related to Fatima.

The only posts should be, given those parameters, why is Mary reported as referring to Russia…as compared to not referring specifically to Russia.
