Interesting view.
One I do not think in fact can be supported through scripture.
If we look at scripture, Jesus told the apostles to “do what they tell you to do” referring to the pharisees. Why? Because they “sit in the seat of Moses”.
In other words, the apostles were to obey the pharisees (until the New covenant was in place) because they had been put in lawful authority over them, even though they themselves were now not worthy of the post due to their hypocrisy.

2"The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat;
3 so practice and observe whatever they tell you, but not what they do; for they preach, but do not practice.

I guess thier CONDONING and TEACHING that practising homosexuality is acceptable to God, female clergy, as well as a religion based on Henry VIII’s failure to secure an annulment appeals to you.
Do your soul a favor and come back to the true church.

I must disagree with you. Not all Episcopalians condone homosexuality and in fact the greater worldwide Anglican communion I do not believe condones same sex relationships at all. Second of all, the decision of pope Clement to deny Henry the annulment was entirely based upon the pressure politics that was being put on him at the time. Heck, a great deal of the Spanish army surrounded the Vatican at this time! I personally know a man who was married for 29 years and had 11 children with his wife. He left his wife for another woman and because his brother was also his priest who was in fondness of the bishop, got him the annulment. So you mean to tell me that this marriage of 29 years with 11 children never existed?? Please… To respond to female clergy; where is it forbidden in scripture? For that matter, where is it forbidden except in the eyes of the RC?

Yes I know. The Anglican church is splitting. Those liberal anglicans have destroyed the morality of the church. At least the perception. Of course the only thing you have against the cc is the sex scandal is all. Which has never been condoned in the catechism.
Nope. Henry wanted to marry another woman out of pure lust. The pope made the correct decision.

What happens BEFORE the marriage constitutes if a proper marriage took place not after.

The Lord never picked women as apostles.
Remember the church is the bride of Christ.
The priests act in “persona Christi” and is supposed to be married to his church.
How can a woman be married to a bride? The church forbids this.

Ah, I like your answers but don’t agree with them. Catholics also claim that Mary is the mother of the church, but how can THAT be? If she was the mother of the church, then she would be Jesus’ mother-in-law which she is not, so your theory of why no female clergy doesn’t really cut it. Also, Henry’s marriage should have never took place anyway because the church forbade a man from marrying his dead brother’s wife.

Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition has never allowed female priests. The pope has stated the case is closed in reguards to this for the reasons I already stated. You are not required to agree with them. Doesn’t make the theology less correct.
How does the mother of the church equate to mother in law?
Henry shouldn’t have so many wives to begin with. This and his anti catholicism probably didn’t do him much good before the Almighty I’m guessing.

So the Lord liked how Henry cut the throats or beheading of almost all catholic priests in england and ireland who did not submit to him? All the desacrations to churches, abbeys, basilicas, and cathedrals? The destruction of holy relics and other objects…I don’t think so. Study up on the deformation in england. Brush up.

Well I never actually joined the RCC, I stopped attending RCIA classes and became Orthodox because:
1.Lack of any basis for the universial jurisdiction of the Bishop of Rome.
2.The practice of marrying Christians to non-Christians is something that has been condemned since the earliest days of the Church.
3.Don’t agree with the RCC’s position on artifical birth control and find no support for it in the ECF’s or other sources.
Quite a few others, but those were the major reasons.

Thank you to the OP for starting this thread & for all those who posted. I am a Catholic convert of 4 years & have been struggling with my faith for awhile now. In fact, I joined this forum today in hopes of helping me regain some of the faith I lost. It is 2 am right now & I was searching this forum for a glimse of hope that I could hold on to & I have found it! After reading this thread I feel as if I have a new begining, a journey of healing. It may be a long journey, but I will not depart from it. At some point I let Satan get his foot in the doorway of my soul & he decided to stay & try to rot out every bit of goodness & faithfulness in me & now it is time for me to take a stronger hold of my faith & rid myself of him, for my soul’s sake & for the love of Christ & the Catholic Church. The Eucharist is what brought me into the Church & it is what will keep me there! Thank you to all of you! God bless you all!

ronnok… I am very inclined to agree with this
statement and here is why…
In the 2nd and 3rd chapters of Revelation we find
the Seven Churches in Asia being addressed by
the Spirit of Christ… 2 of these churches receive
mainly supportive, encouraging words while 5 of
them receive some encouragement and varying
degrees of correction/warnings.
The language of those letters is somewhat
metaphorical and requires careful/prayerful
reading. Every letter ends with the same powerful
words… “Let him (the individual reader/hearer)
who has ears to hear, hear what the Spirit is saying
to the churches.”
These letters are for the church body as a whole
and also to individual believers in those church
bodies. Some of the churches have strayed very
far from the original mission/purpose of God and
are in dangerous waters.
I like to call the letters to the Seven Churches…
“The Church Diagnostic Exam!”
May the Spirit of God teach us through our
reading and lead us…

Be aware, that if you faith is shaky, (although renewed somewhat now, Praise God!), this forum may not be the best place for you to be. It depends on why you faith was shaken in the first place.
I know that as a technical revert, but more of a convert, I personally find these forums very helpful. But that is because I tend to focus on threads in which we can show how no doctrine in the Catholic Church contradicts scripture.
I was moved to tears when I read about the typology of Mary and the Ark. Absolutely beautiful.
On the other hand, I know other reverts sometimes find their faith is shaken because sometimes there is still a “language barrier” and it can be hard to overcome at times.
But either way, welcome to the forums and I pray that God will continue to renew your spirit through these forums.
