i am distracted… just a common, garden-variety… fanatic about the Catholic church- because i know what it saved me from and what it COULD have saved me from…

No other church (so called) ever could do the same for me (been in a lot of them…)… Those others do not have the rosary (which brought me back to Christ in a BIG way)… or the Mass or confession or the Real Presence…

There’s nothing like an original… 😃
Oh I see I have read some of your posts. I must say wow you sure have a big chip on your shoulder. Nobody is as smart as Distracted.

Maybe it’s the wine…?

don’t you mean Precious Blood??
They always told me it is wine !!
That’s what we have learned at school !!

big deal. The women who have broken world records for longevity were likely Catholic. One i know was Catholic and the other went to some Church called St. Something or other] so i am sure she was Catholic… the article about her spoke of first Cornfirmation & that kind of thing… And besides, the studies i read (statistics, i should say) only said that generally speaking, Catholics tend to live longer… It didn’t mean to say that every single Catholic lives longer than every single Protestant…

Why do i even need to say this kind of thing??

i think people who say others are non-Christian just because they say something they don’t like are un-Christian…
OH CALM DOWN!!! :

Umm no. That is not “all one has to do”. You obviously do not know statistics, design of experiments, and basic scientific methodology.

That is ok. But you have now been corrected.

I will not debate this. But if you continue to assert this as fact, you will just be showing your ignorance.
To question distracted is not a wise move.

OH CALM DOWN!!! :
what makes you think i am not calm??

You protestants don’t get me riled up… don’t flatter yourself…

I’m “calm” virtually all the time… I have Jesus… and HIS CHURCH:)

It’s a given that statically exercise improves longevity. If you are not a Catholic just go to Mass on any Sunday. Get there about 15 minutes early and just observe the whole thing. Typically it goes like this for an average Catholic man with a wife and 2.3 Children:

Walk in briskly because the 2 year old is running and you have to grab her arm so she doesn’t fly way ahead of the rest of the family. Drag her back to the entrance so you can bless yourself and her with holy water. Walk to your pew, genuflect before entering. Genuflect again as you try to teach the 2 year old how to do it. And again … oh for get it just get in the pew already. Wrestle with baby bag. Kneel. Attempt to get the 2 year old to kneel to pray. Sit back. Stand as Mass starts. Sit after the Gloria. Immediately stand because the 2 year old has decided that right now just as the congregation is quieting down is the perfect time to scream for absolutely no reason whatsoever and not even the threat of death will make her stop. Pick up 2 year old and exit pew. Genuflect with the extra weight of a 2 year old. Walk briskly to the back of the church while attempting to keep your hand over the screaming child’s mouth. Return several minutes later after child is calm. Genuflect again as you re-enter the pew and sit down. Immediately stand because it’s time to sing Alleluia and hear the Gospel. Sit, kneel, stand, kneel, sit for the rest of Mass. Get up and walk to receive Holy Communion. Walk briskly to catch the 2 year old that you stupidly put down so she could be allowed to walk on her own. Pick up 2 year old. Return to seat. Kneel. Sit. Stand. Mass is over (Is it any wonder we say, “Thanks be to God!” ?).

Shoot by the time we get home from Mass the typical guy is worn out and most likely has a bead of sweat on his brow.

With all the exercise we get going to Mass every week there should be no wonder why we live longer.

:rotfl: Love it. So true.

But that is what they have ignore lists for.

Name 2.
boo hoo… couldn’t care less…

i speak waht i feel the Lord wants me to speak… (most of the time)… If people don’t like it… Well, they didn’t seem to like what Jesus said much either… (He called them hypocrites and vipers, etc…)… and forewarned us that we would be “hated by all” because of Him…

i guess if people had mroe than 2.3 children… they would live even longer…
My DW’s Granny was the mom of 8 and she was a devout Catholic that took all the wee ones to Mass every week. She lived to be 92. Coincidence? Maybe. We all loved Granny.

and on:

If I may and for what’s it’s worth:

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer every one. - Col. 4:6

Let all men know your forbearance. The Lord is at hand. - Phil 4:5

Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for any honest work, to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all men. Titus 3:1-2

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such there is no law. Gal. 5:22-23

It is possible that what you feel you should say is what He wants you to say. But the delivery? Is that the way He wants you to say it?

May Christ’s peace rest upon you.

well, again, you could be saying the same thing to Jesus (when he called people hypocrites, e tc…)… and you know, you ARE saying whatever you say to me (or just about anyone??) to Jesus, as per St. Matthew 25:31-46 where Jesus says that whatever you do the least of his brethren, you do to Him…

Yes, i have said things imperfectly here @ CAF… and i apologize here and now for some of the things i have said and if i have offended anyone. But the weird thing is, usually people “pounce” on things i say that I am not thinking i need to apologize for…

Go figure…

Anyway… if someone is rude with me or out of line… i do not have much patience with that… It is un-Christian and… well, i probably just should not respond at all… and a lot of times i have ignored rude posters… Maybe i need to do that more often…

Anyway… have a good one… 🙂

Yes you do and so do I

Yes you do and so do I
far be it for me to disagree with Martin Luther…

but good works DO make a man good…

There is a saying: “Happiness comes from doing the right thing”

It is so true… When i do good things, i feel the grace of God coming to me… and when i neglect to do good things… well, i feel kinda lousy… and not so close to God… 😦
