During the 7th century, what civilization of note are we talking about existed in Europe that would have recorded the event in their books?
What? Serious?

Byzantium.

Or how about let’s go due north of Arabia and look at Persia, where Islam stole most of its astrological knowledge from.

Doesn’t that hadith teach intercession, which is similar to the Catholic/Orthodox belief regarding the Church Triumphant, aka the Saints? For it emphasizes the man turning to God through Mohammad and not directly to God, which seems to contradict much of the Islamic attitude towards saints and divine intercession.
It was his prayer to God that healed his blindness. I am not sure whether this would be the same prayer for a sighted person to heal him of a different illness.

This thread was too funny. Good job Hamba, for bringing joy to our hearts.

Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to go scratch Islam off the list of religions I’m thinking of converting to.

When I copied the 5 translations of the Koran, there was no Dr. Moshan ever mentioned as being one of the authorized translations. Is this the new koran they made up for infidels so we start thinking their ideology is different than what it really is?

So much time and money spent trying to convince us while the ones they say misunderstand Islam are just having their way with violence and deception.

I just read today the Saudis, the oil rich Saudis, are now giving the excuse that the Somalis are violent because of poverty. I wonder why they have been leaving Canada and the USA for Jihad if that were true, or where does the Saudi zakat go? (those who fight in the way of Jihad)
I’ve seen his name posted by our muslim members in the past & on other islamic forums on the net, but I’ve not seen or read his works.

I just goggled & also yahoo search his name and didn’t get any hit that scream out or identity the person who interpreted the koran.

Aren’t there some sects of Islam that believe in something very similar to intercession? (Shia, perhaps?) I’ve heard that around here before, but I can never tell if it’s true or if it’s just one sect bashing another.

From what I understand the Shia do that and not the Sunni muslims, and I don’t know about other muslim sects.

But since forum member Famdigy is the only Shia we have, perhaps he can clarify when he logs on.

Back to the moon…I think to use the moon as the great symbol of Islam…along with the killing swords…reflects faulty thinking as well…afterall, the light of the moon is a false light, it does not shine of its own.

St. Thomas Aquinas said human understanding of God can be compared to the eye of an own next to the sun. There are references in Christianity as the sun symbolizing Christ. And the eye of an owl is blinded by the day time sun.

I think it very sad that Muhammad’s followers would be so quick to believe anything with the prize of superiority and the placation of carnal desire.

So it is through a myth akin to the Arabian Nights that Islam staked the Holy Land, when Muhammed never wanted it.

The final solution for peace can only come to the Holy Land through God’s hands…and reckoning.

Jharek,

Thanks for the link to Irish culture…I was studying it for awhile about 13 years ago, and I could see my faith went back to St. Patrick…my great grandmother was born in Swansea, Wales, but her mother came from Ireland. My great grandfather was a Brady, County Cavan.

Yeah, and there was one muslim site that had a download but it wasn’t clear what I was downloading and they wanted my email address. yeah, like I am going to willingly give my email address to them.

It is suspect since he had one that showed us an obvious difference from the others.

So much for god’s infallible book. 🤷

Hamba2han,

You have not answered us why muhammad freaked out at the eclipse.

Afterall, if he could split the moon into halves. Why be afraid of the moon when it blocks the sun???

Hadith Bukhari vol. II, No. 167 The sun eclipsed and the Prophet jumped up, terrified that it might be his Hour [of Judgment].

Let us remember how muhammad scrambled for cover and trembled in his knees at the sign of the eclipse.

Now let us see what Jesus did…

Matthew 8:26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

We see Jesus (Isa) having great faith in His God. On the other hand, muhammad the ‘greatest’ prophet was so afraid that he scrambled for cover. NOW, SEEERiously, tell us who is really the greater prophet?

Of course Jesus is a great prophet. Muhammad took every one into prayers because many people were worshipping the Sun and they considered the eclipse of the sun as a bad Omen.

Muhammad told them that there was nothing bad in it. To avoid people looking at the Sun and damaging their eyesight, Muhammad took them into prayer and kept them busy in the prayers for some time. He was not afraid of the eclipse of the Sun.

Muhammad considered the eclipse as a sign of his truth. It was a sign prophecied by Jesus for the coming of the son of Man. Jesus had said that “Sun will not give its light.” Muhammad offered special prayers for that event of the eclipse of the Sun to mark the event and have it recorded that it occured during his ministry.

And your answer shows us how delusional and blinded you are by muhammad.

Its sad, I feel sad and sick in the stomach. Really, that a human could give an answer as outrageous as yours despite the factual records of muhammad’s failures in the hadiths that you claim to be following in your faith.

This is the reason why even though…
  • Muhammad factually had sex with a biologically underaged girl ayesha, he can be excused.
  • Muhammad lied to the quaryish tribesmen to save himself, he can be forgiven despite his claim to ‘prophethood’
  • Muhammad killed his enemies, took their wives and later poisoned to death and with all his sons dying in their infancies, he is still deemed by muslims as a ‘blessed’ good man.
Frankly, I know why the Bible said the Unclean Will Remain Unclean. Because if you ask me, I wouldn’t want someone who is unclean, blind, foolish and purposefully ignorant, wilful and stubborn to be cleansed only to enter my house to tarnish & destroy it. I would rather that person remain dumb, blind, ignorant and wait for eternal punishment.

  • If a man cannot know right from wrong, left from right, criminal from philanthropist then that man would do more harm than good when placed in a haven of goodness. It would have been better for that man to be left to his own devices than for his eyes to be opened and his heart closed, only to provide opportunities for his destructive character to exert themselves to their potential.
