It’s just more condescending rhetoric that means nothing in the realm of a real growing relationship with Christ.

Besides the debate on whether or not tweet is representing the church as she should, have the others gotten a better grasp of what Catholics do believe in terms of Mary?
Nice one. I like it.

Im sorry. I think I am failing to make my points clear. Im not trying to slamm the Rcc, I am trying to make the point that Christ is perfect but we humans are not and His church is made up of imperfect humans therefor there will be errors, Errors in the RCC and yes errors in the protestant churches. Yes I do believe that all 7 churches were apart of the same church but they were all in various conditions and in various errors yet that doesn’t mean that the gates of hell prevailed against them it meant that they had to be reformed. So we throw the baby out with the bathwater? Jesus chose Judas, do we abandon Him now? He had disciples leave Him and walk with Him no more in John 6, do we abandon Christ for having bad disciples? NO!
How many times do we have to say, THERE WERE SINFUL MEN IN THE CHURCH’S HISTORY! Are you inferring there are NO sinful Protestants?
You are stuck on the 7 Churches, even though we have repeatedly told you, THERE WERE 7 CHURCHES IN 7 LOCATIONS, BUT THEY WERE ALL OF THE SAME FAITH! How many Churches did Paul write letters too? Did he instruct them differently or was his instructions the same for all of them?
Did the Apostles not point out errors to the different Churches? Again, Christ had disciples leave Him and He chose Judas, do we abandon Him now?
You are something else, you know that? What do you hope to achieve on a Catholic forum, seriously?
Do you believe Judas had free will?Im sorry. I think I am failing to make my points clear. He chose Judas because He needed a judus.
I came to this forum to ask a question and got hooked on this thread. sorry if I am disturbing you.
I like this to some extent, I must admit, for it adheres to what I believe. We are all sinners, and while our church is imperfect due to men, it did need reformation. Is just a shame that it split the church. St. Francis of Assisi wanted reformation as well, and luckily it happened, just happened without splitting the church. Luther did not want a broken split church, just turned out that people had enough at the time, and once the ball was rolling, it was not stopped.Im sorry. Good question…not even sure there is an answer that would satisfy both sides on that question. I would say of course he had free will. That being said it brings forth the thought of predestination, does it not? How much does God allow for us to do before he stops it? Or…does he stop it at all?Do you believe Judas had free will?
Thank you, I know what kind of person I am.How very kind and mysterious of you.I knew the moment you replied to my posts, what kind of person I was dealing with. So glad you chose these forums! May our Lord better help you understand the Truth He has revealed in His Church.
As a matter of fact I would pat him on the back for having a mind of his own. Then I would find another church. What happens if your baptist minister starts teaching Mormon doctrine, or Seventh Day Adventism mixed in with baptist teaching…are you gonna call him out on it, or are you going to pat him on the back for “having a mind of his own?”
The issue here is integrity. And leading others astray.
Thank youYes! Exactly! :extrahappy::dancing:
If it were exactly the same manner, would it then be acceptable to you? That is, if we asked Mary of Nazareth to pray for us* in the same way *we were asking, say, Mary Martinez from Grace Church, to pray for us, would it then be acceptable to you?
I suppose the same question could be asked of this scenario:
I need never talk to my mother to be part of the family. But I do! Every day! I just don’t *have *to.
Thank you I saw it.btw Rev. Kevin, I tried to answer your four questions a few pages back. Did my best.
I have a grasp on it. I just disagree with it.Besides the debate on whether or not tweet is representing the church as she should, have the others gotten a better grasp of what Catholics do believe in terms of Mary?
Everyone’s entitled of course. Is what makes us all unique and more Christ like. Variety…for Christ was not just a man, he was all of us embodied in himself.I have a grasp on it. I just disagree with it.
You are in opposition to your own church’s teaching regarding the Real Presence. Catholics believe that the Eastern Orthodox churches posses it as well. Why do you defy church teaching on this matter?Yes, us Catholics cannot have a real, up-close-and-personal relationship with Christ. Catholics only consume the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ at every Holy Communion (John 6:56). And, like the Blessed Virgin Mary, we are only living tabernacles of Christ immediately after receiving Holy Communion. But that’s nothing.
as do I, a former cradle Catholic of nearly 35 years.I have a grasp on it. I just disagree with it.

My understanding is that the word “believes” is a weak translation, that it is more like a belief that causes one to take action. Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness, but he didn’t just believe and sit on his butt.I’m not necessarily disagreeing with you, MRL, but…just for the sake of argument:
What’s the verse that lots of Protestants love to quote regarding “all you need to do is Believe?” John 3:16.
It seems that he is saying believe “IN” God, not “believe God”, as you’re saying, right?
So, even the demons believe “IN” God, as James says, but, clearly, that is not enough.
