Is there something I do not understand? I understand the argument about abortion, etc. People on here seem to act like the conservative party is in perfect observance of Catholic issues or social teachings. Apparently, CNN is biased but FoxNews is not? Since when did issues like gun control, climate change, immigration become religious issues?

I don’t understand the deifying of Donald Trump here. Apparently, he can do no wrong to some people or to other people is a horrendous person.

Apparently, if a Catholic doesn’t vote Republican, align with the conservative party or is not a huge supporter of Donald Trump, I voted contrary to church teaching.

wow.

This thread won’t be filled with partisan bickering at all.

Maybe I should not have started this topic. A million people and their mothers will respond.

That’s not what I see on CF. You are overgeneralizing. There are people of all kinds on this forum. I for one can’t imagine a universe when I’d vote for Trump. But I also cannot accept important Democrat platforms. Don’t engage in labeling. Liberal and conservative labels mean little and don’t help balanced conversation.

Because liberals have such a strong tendency to argue - and disagree -
and complain - and blame - and pretend ignorance and innocence !
Then they try to lump - those who aren’t liberals - into one group.

A lot of it is a perceived overreach.

For example, if I don’t want to drink soda, I don’t drink soda. I don’t go banning sweetened drinks over 13 oz from being sold in my town, and prevent everyone else from drinking soda.

If I don’t like guns, then I don’t have a gun in my house. But I don’t go trying to keep other people from having guns.

If I don’t like the prayer that’s being prayed in school/at a graduation ceremony, I sit quietly. If I believe in God, I replace it with a prayer I like better; if I don’t believe in God, I might work on my grocery list. But I don’t try to keep other people from praying in public.

When you start an accusatory thread you are bound to get answers from those who take exception to your tone. If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Do you have any other topic in your playbook? You’ve been posting the same stuff non-stop since you joined.

Part of me genuinely wants to understand why some posters describe the liberal party as evil. I don’t understand.

And those wonderful, holy conservatives NEVER do any of that!

I still don’t understand the hype behind Donald Trump. I’m beginning to feel like I was the coo coo. Is there something I’m missing? I don’t get it. After reading posts on here, strongly endorsing Donald Trump and I keep wondering why I don’t seem to feel/see him in the same positive like that others. Are we watching the same news sources? Am I a bad Catholic if I don’t feel that way towards him?

Well, supporting marriage as God made it and not endorsing the killing of the preborn is a definite plus…

As is flipflopping constantly on those very points?

He just looks like a creepy demagogue.

But describing a political party as evil? It doesn’t make sense. If I feel like people use the bible to manipulate votes. I don’t think any political party honestly aligns with Christ.

Why not just accept the fact that others don’t think the way you do? There’s a point where agonizing over what you think is wrong with other people is just hurting yourself.

In my opinion, they are too aggressive with pushing homosexuality. Liberals practically worship homosexuality.
