Why do people on CAF seem to think liberals are evil?

Oh, I don’t support that.

I’ve said it here and say it again, the American political system is completely broken.

Hey, I didnt want Trump. Most Republicans I know didnt want Trump.
I was Kasich and then Cruz in the primaries.

There is no Liberal party in the US, although other countries have it.

The two main US political parties are Democrat and Republican.

Very true. Then I start wondering well what if I’m the one who is wrong? I mean people’s opinions seem to suggest if you aren’t conservative, you aren’t a true Christian/believer.

I’ve never liked when religion and politics mix honestly.

Yeah, I know. I legit feel sorry for the Republicans in the US right now. Trump makes the party look bad.

You’re telling me…

We had a governor of a state that ran a 50 million budget surplus, and successfully reformed our Medicare program.

Instead, we elected Annoying Orange as the leader of the free world.

If people are telling me I could be condemned for the way I vote, I think it’s natural that I question perhaps why. Wouldn’t you? Or describing a political party I align with as evil and Satanic.

Nemmind trying to explain.
The only reason that anybody voted for Trump is because racism/sexism/homophobia/ hate the poor/ hate little children/hate muffins and sunshine

And not because we felt backed into a corner or anything

I am not a Democrat or Republican. I vote for the person who best represents my Catholic foundational beliefs. Some elections are exceptionally difficult, as was the last one. No way could I vote for either Trump or Clinton. Both parties are devolving and changing rapidly. What they become is anyone’s guess.
But please don’t be a handwringer about people’s choices in politics. It will drive you insane.

Just ignore them. Be sincere in your beliefs before God and get on with it. You seem too influenced by others. Remember this is an open forum. It attracts all kinds of loonies 🙂

Yikes, I tried to keep up with the election but I didn’t know about that surplus. They do sound like they’d have been a far better choice.

Our right wing party over here just seems to vacillate between embarrassing jokes like Abbott and our current guy that doesn’t seem to have an opinion to call his own. Though that being said Aus is definitely the free world, and we’re not led by the US; I’ve never quite gotten that phrase.

I don’t know if this is unChristian. I’d rather not vote at all. It makes me uncomfortable when religion and politics mix. Idk how to feel about a lot of core Christian issues people think I should vote on solely like abortion, euthanasia, etc. I am not in support, I do not feel as strongly about it.

Both parties are simply wretched. One thing is certain though, I will never EVER vote for any candidate that supports murder of a fetus. That is evil, no two ways about it.

I think you should expect that faithful people are generally going to be more critical of a party that is openly hostile to them than one that at least tolerates them.

Why do you feel the democratic party is hostile towards Christians?

I completely agree with the abortion thing. Is there a supposed Catholic way to feel about gun control, climate change, etc?
