Your whole Catholic or bust attitude is really starting to test my courtesy and patience toward you. You clearly know very little outside of your circle and it is also clear that you do not want to and I really don’t care, but I am really getting sick to death of being put into the same category as others who do not share hardly anything in common with me and I would wish that you could educate yourself at least to the point of seeing folks that are something other than RCC in a somewhat respectable way before you go off spewing your holier than thou attitude toward them.
Well, it is Catholic or bust. period.

Many of your very own church clergy would disagree with you, but you probably don’t care or would deny it.
Since you claim to know so much about the Catholic church, why don’t you name some clergy who would disagree with me?

I seriously doubt that, and I would refute that with you if you’d like. Problem is they know NOTHING about the Catholic faith, because if they truly knew anything about it, other than their versions of made up stories and their false beliefs, they would be Catholic.
I sort of have to admire this debating tactic: “unless you agree with and join me, you’re not qualified to disagree with me.” The arguments I could have won this way, if I’d only thought of it…

There is only one church, one bride, the Catholic church. Jesus founded his church, not a collection of differing churches with contradictory beliefs. So, unless you become one of Jesus’s followers, and belong to the church in which he started in the first place, then you can remain in the church you are in, rejecting his one true church. The Catholic church.

That’s a fine post, but I think you accidentally cut and pasted mine above it, rather than the post yours was written in response to.

I’m here to help.

Well, the Catholic Church is holier than thou. hehe

It’s time for all your watchdogs to jump in isn’t it? It’s too bad Catholics can’t debate one on one.
It’s too bad. Ex-Catholics leave the Church out of pride. They are like Satan who rebel against God out of pride.

I certainly don’t, and never claimed to. In fact, I came here to learn more about it. And what I have learned is that there are many things that form a groundwork for future unity. I, sadly, have also learned that there are some, both Catholic and non-catholic, that are more interested in increasing division.
It would be easy for me to back away from CAF, but I won’t. There is more that I want to know.

Jon
dont worry he wasnt talking about you. you came here to learn, not attack. you are welcome here.

I am tired of Protestants thinking they know everything there is to know about the Catholic faith. One claims he knows about the attendance at Catholic churches, another claims to know how the Catholics are dwindling (which is totally false, they are getting stronger), another claims they seem to know which way to heaven is correct their way, but not the Catholic way.
Why don’t you just worry about your own self interpretation about your own church and not worry so much about mine? If Jesus didn’t choose the Catholic faith, (as you claim), then what’s all the fuss?
There are a lot of Catholics, but only about 20% of them are practicing. There is a drop in attendance also.
Our diocese is scaling down to about half the churches & schools that were in the diocese mainly for lack of attendance, cant keep them open if no one supports them. I am catholic I attend church weekly Plus I get my Catholic Newspaper delivered to me weekly & I read it:)

True but the teachings of the Church are consistent. The difference I refer to Protestantism which differ is some Churches have infant baptism, while other Protestant Churches do not baptise infant. This is their own interpretation of the sacraments.

In every Catholic Church, the teachings on moral and faith remain the same. When I say Catholics, those who are in full communion with the Rome.

Some Protestant Churches believe in Rapture and some do not. Many cases, these beliefs are not as strictly enforced compared to Catholicism.

Any Catholic who openly disagree with all the Church teachings are condemned as heretics.
heres my best understanding: imagine a block of wood. just a fine block of wood. then a sickle, (luther) comes and hits it, splintering it into differnt pieces. but the catholic peice is more like a chunk.

The question lies with this. If the Catholicism is false and Protestantism is true. Then Jesus lied because it would mean the gates of hell did prevail against his Church. The problem with Protestantism is that they have contradictory beliefs. It’s like the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of contradiction.

Christianity then is a man-made religion and Jesus is not what he claims to be.

However, if the Catholic Church is true, then Jesus did keep is promised that the gates of hell shall not prevail against it and then Protestantism is false.
