Why do some Catholics here believe Protestants are all Pro-abortion, Pro-this, Pro-that, Pro-sin?

Protestants are full blown heretics. There is no arguing about that.
Now someone correct me if I’m wrong, but in Catholic teaching one must have been Catholic and left the Church in order to be called a heretic. Therefore, while a Catholic may claim that my communion is heretical, I don’t believe you can describe me, a cradle Lutheran, as a heretic.
All I can do is pray for them.
Thank you, and I will pray for you.
I hope they realize the only true church and way of life is the Roman Catholic church.
I certainly recognise the Catholic Church as a significant, and perhaps even central, part of His Church.

Let’s be honest here. Compare Evangelicals who attend Church every Sunday, but not during the week with Catholics who attend mass every Sunday, but not during the week.

The majority of Evangelicals who attend church every Sunday do so because they want to.

Why do the majority of Catholics who attend mass every Sunday attend mass? Hmm.

Like I said, before I joined CAF, almost all the Catholics I knew were Cradle Catholics who either didn’t attend mass or attended almost superstitiously because of the obligation. Most Catholics I know do what they want.

The majority of Evangelicals are regularly exposed to fire and brimstone sermons where sins like fornication, abortion, partying and drinking (yes, considered sins by a lot), immodest dress, gossiping, etc, etc, are denounced every Sunday.

They’re not perfect, and they sin, but they know what is considered sin and what is not. Thos who are totally disregarding the teachings of their Church know that they are in a “backslidden” state.

I am so tired of hearing that protestants do what they want and believe they will go to heaven anyway. Those who do what they want are not practicing.

I cannot speak for other denominations like Lutherans, Methodists etc. I do believe they are more liberal, but I may be wrong.

Generally Evangelicals/fundamentalists, are not liberal.

Anybody who is not a Roman Catholic has fallen short of paradise and God’s grace.:signofcross: But that is just what i believe.

Protestants believe there will be no consequences from God from sin so some Catholics think they won’t take sin seriously enough.
That’s new to me.

I have many Protestant friends. They come in all denominations and all shapes and sizes. A lot of them are more Catholic than many Catholics. A lot of them aren’t.

And the OP has yet to back up his vague, general claims with links and specifics.

Does he really need to provide links? The threads are all over CAF.

Exactly. And not only that, but if I provide links, I’m merely “baiting” a user out into the open. I have a personal policy that I don’t reference users here specifically unless I’m either making a good remark about them or mentioning them in passing.

Oh I know the website. It’s a terrible site. It’s one of these ‘Catholics are not Christians’ and teaches complete lies about the Church. And it promotes ‘once saved always saved’ and ‘Mary was not ever-virgin’ and is pro-contraception. It is nothing like Catholic teaching.
Oh yes, they are quite anti-Catholic, but I do not recall them teaching “once saved, always saved”.

Ok, lets just get one thing straight, The Holy Catholic church is the only true church. It is the only one that leads to heaven. It was the church that was started by Christ all others broke away from the true church because they wanted thing there way not God’s way. If you disagree i don’t care. What I’m saying is true. So have a great day and God bless

You are sure testy, but I’ll pray for you that you will see the light and realize that we are all brothers in Christ.:):signofcross:

Excellent points, except the end being Lutheran LCMS most Lutherans I run into are actually quite conservative as are the teachings of our synod. They are really not that far off from those of the RCC.

Hate to break it to you but you have two major issues in your line of thinking. First if I’m not mistaken your own church says that protestants as individuals are not heretics, and I believe JPII said that a protestant can actually go to heaven. So you may believe we are all going to hell for heresy, but you are then a little out of sinc with your own church. Second, the whole calling people heretics and telling them they are hellbound isn’t the greatest way to win converts, it makes you sound like a stuck up jerk. I don’t know how many times myself and other protestants have said on this board, that one of the BIGGEST hurdles that we have with the Catholic Church isn’t theological its the umpleasant elitest attitude displayed by so many of it’s members. Just a thought:shrug:

Ok I may have been a little to straight forward there but most of what i said is very true, well at least to me, sorry if i offended anybody. Its all cool now:cool:

Thanks for the correction. 🙂

I want to add to that one of the reasons I became open to Catholicism is because I saw Catholics on this forum who had a deep love for God and aversion to sin, as well as a deep interest in theology.

This was something I had never seen before in real life and it made me curious.

That is correct. Anyone that says other wise is not fallowing the teaching of the Church.

You, and others on this thread, are confusing heresy with apostasy. Heresy is bringing false doctrine into the Church. Apostasy is leaving the Church.

Take it up with the Holy Father Pope Beneidict.
