Why do the " Bad Boys" get so many women?

Frankly, I can see why some would think I’m the sort to be abusive but the truth is, I don’t even have the physical strength to be like that.

I just want to know what it’s like to love and cherish a girl so small, naive and not so free-spirited. I want to know what it’s like to care and protect someone so vulnerable but also so unbelievably kind.
Look, its a nice fantasy.
Women come in all sizes. The petite ones can be very charming.
But don’t go into the illusion that a woman is an angel or some little innocent doll who relies on your protection and will not be a sometimes angry, sad, or otherwise passionate being.
Sure there are women who are very silent and never stand up to themselves. These have often been given the message at home that they were not worth listening to, and their issues will explode at some point.

Find yourself a best friend. Thats a better way.

Oh believe me, even those who just do it sometimes are still a rarity. As much I love the support my mother gives, I will always use her and her side of the family more as a measure of what I would NOT want in plentiful amounts.

But so far? Most women I’ve met deliberately live up to her archetype instead of going the other way. That’s what’s frustrating. There used to be a lot of girls back then who were the complete reverse (and I say this as someone known for laughing at the notion of people wanting to go back to older times). I’ve already lowered the bar to the level that you suggested a long time ago.

I’m still the one guy who’s never dated in his entire life. =.=

Lowered the bar? To what? Looking for one’s best friend? How can that be lowering the bar if you are looking for the companion for life.
Some people are looking for a fantasy image.
But look, everyone wants to be loved for whom they are.
Yes there was a time where a woman was supposed to be submitted, silent, never complain, never talk about her emotions or needs. She should look like a pretty decoration and be a good mother and wife. Thats the time where men would go of to other rooms to talk about politics, economics and things which have as much bearing on a woman’s life as on a mans.

If women have the chance to be free and equal with men they will bloom… some will turn into extremes and be sinful (same with men when given the freedom), but mostly they will just be alive, caring about exploring life and their own potential. They will speak just as much as men, have as many oppinion and as much passion.

I believe if we truly love people we dont want them to be our servants but our equal friends. We want them to be free, not timid.
I think you are immature. There is an imbaalance in your family… perhaps you mother is too dominant or power-sick. Beware lest you have inherited their trait already without realising it.

Personally, I would not want to date a woman who looks like a man nor acts like a man!

Look I’ve had good friends but recently I’ve been hanging around the less that savory ones and there are days when I grow tired of it.

Is it a crime if by ‘best friend’, I assumed it’s time I finally set out for that girl? 🤷 After all, good piece of courting/dating advice is to always start out as good friends.

The only problem is I barely have a single candidate.

Why assume that I find this problematic? You wanna be a woman like that? Go ahead. I don’t see why I’m a bastard though if I say I don’t fall in love with the louder and more independent types.

And what makes you think that the girl I’m looking for doesn’t care about exploring life or their own potential? What if their own potential lies in being good wives and mothers?

See, here’s the problem I’m starting to sense here with your perspective. I would go as far as to say that I’m the one here who is truly about diversity and freedom. Why? Because I believe that girl should be what she wants to be regardless of what either feminists or conservatives say. If they wanna be a senator. Good for them. If they wanna be a stay-at-home-mom. Good for them. It is their CHOICE.

The kind of girl I want is the type who would want to be my wife, the mother of my kids, and be the object of my devoted protection. I don’t want all the girls in the world to be like that. I just want to find a single one who would choose that path.

Look I have a sister who would HATE to be that girl but do I HATE my sister? Heck no. You can be like her.

You wanna be an Amelia Earhart? I’ll support you but I won’t fall in you love with you. They’re just not my type and never will be.

Okay that’s it. If somebody assumes me immature one more time, I’m calling lack of charity. You want immature? Try the brats my brother hangs with who think the only way to bring the best out of somebody they think that needs fixing is through trolling them till they lose it.

There is no imbalance. I just happen to be surrounded at times with a lot of people who have so much ego, even you would suffocate.

The difference between me and them though is that I don’t desire to be some evil overlord. I don’t boast. I’m just tired of being squashed and will stop when I got no more giant feet wanting to step on me. Therefore, I wouldn’t be quick to assume I’ve been ‘influenced’ by their type.

I have a question for you.
Is it proper of me to say that I will not be in a romantic relationship with a woman who looks like a man?
That’s a broad statement. You are free to choose your romantic partner on your own, you can and should take attraction into consideration, and attraction is a very individual matter. Just don’t use it as a platform to make statements you might later regret, e.g. offending someone who wasn’t born particularly beautiful (and never became so either).

I’m somewhat confused with what you said. Please elaborate. o:
For one thing, I do not want to date a woman who has a figure like Black Rock Shooter for two reasons.
  1. Some of the worst rejections that had befallen me were from women who have the figure of BRS.
  2. Dating a woman with a figure of BRS tends to reinforce my dislike towards dating transwomen.
    Here’s BRS:

Admittedly, I’m at least as confused as you are, right now. You obviously have some agenda on your mind that’s very important to you but I can’t understand it without your help.

Is it okay if I discuss the qualities I’m looking for in a wife? That is the agenda you are referring to. o:

I once got into a heated discussion with a man who insisted that ALL women like the bad boy type and I just didn’t know or understand that (and I, of course, am a woman). It was kind of comical. But he seriously though all women were attracted to one type of man, no exceptions.

But I’ve wondered this too. I was pretty much a “good girl” in high school and college and hung out with other “good girls.” We didn’t party, do drugs, we studied, didn’t dress immodestly (we weren’t wearing burlap sacks or anything, just normal clothes)… and we were routinely ignored by nice guys who had crushes on girls involved with “bad boys” (and usually those girls were party girls, very stylish, etc).

It’s like I said before, I have this pet theory that some men get wrapped up in wanting the girls already with “bad boys” that they don’t notice the available women near them.
No offense meant at all to the OP, but this rant right here has been one of my greatest pet peeves… especially in high school.

The truth of the matter is, for every girl who wants to date the good looking bad boy, there’s a boy who wants to date the good looking materialistic b_tchy girl.

It goes both ways gentleman, and yet you don’t see us “good girls” complaining about it nearly as much as the “good guys” complain about it. Man up!

The most hypocritical thing about all this is that all the “good guys” who came to me whining about this have had perfectly nice girls interested in them… they just didn’t happen to be pretty enough to be worth it I guess. Too chubby or too plain.

It goes both ways. Man up.
[SIGN]Wow!!![/SIGN] I really lack words to say regarding these posts. I feel like I am being addressed here and these posts are nothing other than the simple truth as far as I am concerned.

I have always known that “nice girls” prefer players and that we “nice guys” have little or no chance.

I have to reveal this:

About two weeks ago, I came across this catholic girl. I would say she was nice. When I went back home, one thing was outstanding: She had invited me twice to come visit their area (they have a catholic group…) because I was complaining that I rarely come across catholics my age…I mean, her words were more or less like “it would be nice if you came by”.
But…(LOL)

I had a debate between my catholic and secular selves:
The catholic me said that, wow!, look, you know very well how difficult it is to come across catholics today; moreover how difficult it is to engage in discussions with people you don’t know… This is an opportunity for you. She said something you would have probably been afraid to say. So what are you waiting for? What else do you want?

The secular me said that, lo, this is just not your type. Nothing about her captivated your eyes. She wasn’t dressing at all like the “nice girls”. If you happen to be walking around with her, you would probably just be looking at the “nice girls” and feeling uncomfortable being beside her. And it’s sunny. Man, just forget about her. You see “nice girls” every single day. You have been having it hard getting to them but just continue to be patient, you would be lucky one day.

So how did I decide? Well since this is still very recent, I haven’t made a final decision but I tend to go with the secular me because I honestly don’t find her attractive enough to even go visit their community. :o She seems to be the kind of girl that wouldn’t mind to initiate and I don’t like to hurt anybody cos I don’t also like getting hurt. She is not like the “standard nice girl” I see daily and like seeing. :o However, the catholic me still sees this like the Holy Grail…

I just want to honestly admit that maybe it’s just that some of us “nice guys” prefer “bad girls”. 🤷 As mellowcalico said, we desire the kind of girls with “bad guys”—modern, stylish, sexy,… I can only be honest here; yes, I kind of do. :o But I am hoping that I slowly readjust.

Now that’s confusing too. But to take you at the letter, why should it not be okay for you to discuss your preferences? As long as you’re doing it respectfully, there’s no problem with that. But there’s a reason why it’s all on your mind right now, so what is it?

Slooooow down there, sir. Don’t fall into the opposite extreme. The same thing that goes for men who would like to be more attractive regardless of not wanting to become what women find attractive, can also be true for women. You don’t need to convince and mostly force yourself to pursue women who cannot attract you. Expand your perspective, broaden your horizons, challenge any presumptions or conclusions you’ve made about what’s ‘your type’ and what’s not but don’t pretend attraction doesn’t matter unless it really does not. Or you’ll be hurting the woman and yourself. For now, I think you need to let the dust settle so you can digest the experience.

I am shy towards speaking on my preferences.
Also, I am very careful with this since I know that I could get attacked regarding my preferences. I’ve tried that before (not here in the CAF) and it did not end well.

Sticks and stones may break my bones… Words can hurt you but don’t let something someone says out there somewhere on an Internet message board get under your skin much. People will generally react violently (verbally mostly but anyway) if you suggest that something is wrong (or less than ideal) with their style, life-style, self-made image, choices etc. For example, a coach potato will criticise you for preferring people who stick with more active lifestyles (and have a slim appearance to reflect), just as a nerd will complain ‘materialistic women’ who like some muscle on a man, just as ‘hands-on’ person with an attitude could voice frustration about ‘snobs who only want people with degrees’.

As long as we all keep some distance and realise that a professional athlete’s silhouette, Ph.D. in rocket science, high-up military commission and a develop artistic taste rarely realise themselves in one and the same person, while each of us has a different order of priorities when it comes to the details, we can keep this civil.

For the record, I almost never mention my own preferences, either. If I did, I could probably too be called a dozen different things, half of them mutually exclusive with each other (I’ve actually been called a liberal once here). 😉

Just be polite and sparing. Unless you have a good reason to criticise some aspect of people, you can normally find milder wording. For example, if you run into a veritable gold digger, then it’s understandable if you talk about ‘materialistic women’. On the other hand, speaking about the more down-to-earth practical ones, you could just saying something diplomatic, like, ‘not particularly romantically minded.’ Refer the same to your, ‘women who look like men,’ (I don’t fully understand what you mean there).

You have raised a lot of good points. 🙂

Shall I begin with the preferences?

If you can tie that into the existing subject, I don’t see why not. On the other hand if you’d like to initiate a separate discussion, I’d suggest a new thread would be better.

I’ll go for appearances first (yes, thread-relevant).
I recall that some in this thread states that nice guys and nice girls should try looking more confident. I agree.
Hence, my standards for external appearances. Note that it’s not a major thing with me. Except for #1, of course.
  1. Must be a biological woman. I do not, cannot, and will not involve myself in a romantic relationship with a “transwoman” since it is against Catholic teaching on sexual morality!
  2. Must not be flat-chested. Why? I will give three reasons for this.
    a. Some of the worst rejection that I’ve had came from flat-chested women. I have no idea why this is the case. Coincidence? Maybe.
    b. I do not want to have rumors that I’m dating an underage woman. Why? Because rumors have the potential of becoming very large unless addressed at the most strategic time.
    c. I do not want to date someone who looks like a stereotypical “transwoman”.
  3. Must not look boyish. It is because my first ex-girlfriend looked boyish.

Frankly, I can see why some would think I’m the sort to be abusive but the truth is, I don’t even have the physical strength to be like that.
If you think physical strength is a prerequisite for abusiveness, you have a LOT to learn. Serious.

Who are you fooling? Everyone knows that physical abuse crosses the line. I didn’t say it was the only form out there but I’ve read enough statistics to say it’s an obvious indicator.

You tell me I have a lot to learn but I think you have a LOT of common sense to recover. Seriously.
