Look at the other side. There are many people giving islam a good name as well. It’s just that the media seems to mainly put the bad then the good. Just like in every religion bobzills, people give it bad names and good names. However you should not ignore and hate a religion by its bad followers and you shouldn’t particularly want to convert to islam because of its good, kind and generous followers. You should look at the religion itself and that is what I did with an open-heart and alhamdullilah for the past 1 and a half year I have been trying to follow islam the best I can. I pray 5 times a day, fast, give money to the poor, read the Quran once in a while (usually twice or thrice a week) and inshallah I want to do hajj when I become older.
I have met good muslims and I have met bad ones. I have met good christians and I have met bad ones. I have met good budhists and I have met bad ones. Never judge a religion by its followers…or if you want to-judge it by its original followers. The piety of Muhammed (pbuh) and Jesus (pbuh).

This is an important point! If you look at the (non) piety of Muhammad and the piety of Jesus there is no comparison. Jesus preached peace and love. Muhammad preached war, divorce, polygamy, ordered the death of at least 2 people (the 100 year old man and the breast-feeding woman), along with some verses of peace. Muhammad molested (thighed) a six year old girl (his wife, Aiesha).
If you judge the religion by its original followers and Jesus and Muhammad who founded Christianity and Islam respectively, it is more than obvious which one is from God.

Why should Muslims go through the farce of marriage, if they are planning on a divorce at the outset?
A woman would rather be a prostitute rather than marry a Muslim; atleast they would get paid for their services.
Because of easy divorces, in most Islamic countries women practice prostitution under the cover of dark clothes and hijabs, and most of the children born there are bastards. You can’t blame the women, because as girls, they were never allowed to go to school, when they became women, they know now only how to produce babies.
But many Muslims consider being a bastard to be a holy and noble quality, because Ishmael was born to unwed parents, and he and his mother (Hagar) were left in the desert to fend for themselves.
Since the fathers have no time or money for their children (because they are busy chasing new girls to marry), children in Islamic countries rarely go to school. They instead attend Islamic terrorist training camps where they are taught to hate others, to read Arabic (which would prove to be of no earthly use to them especially because even in Arab countries, Engineering, Medicine, and other subjects are taught in English or French); to make and explode bombs, and how to commit suicide.
If the girls in Islamic countries end up becoming prostitutes, the boys end up becoming terrorists or suicide bombers, because they are not fit for any other decent profession, they instead end up joining terrorist gangs as suicide bombers.
Satan has successfully carried out his plans for destroying human beings and their social fabric in these Islamic countries, and are now breeding there terrorists and viruses for spreading the destruction to other healthy countries.
Satan also manages to make the people in these countries mutilate their own sacred bodies given to them in the name of circumcision or some other stupid rituals.
Most of the people, in addition to being poor and un-educated, also have lost their eyes or tongue or limb (chopped off by their mullahs ).
When children lie, they chop off their tongues.

If a child urinates in bed, they chop off their genitals.

In the case of Islam, Islam runs Islamic countries. That’s why they are called “Islamic” and why they have “Allah” on their flags.
Muslim clergy defines what Islam is.
Let’s see. Above you made a distinction between “countries” and “religions” as though Islam doesn’t run Islamic countries. Now you say Muslims have enacted “major faulty beliefs” into laws. You have just re-enforced my point that Islam runs Islamic countries, contrary to what you would like us to think.

To some extent I agree with you. However, I think you make some generel conclusions based on false premises.
You indicate you have lived in Muslim countries. So have I. Palestine. I find there that there is a very different culture than my own. Some problematic elements: the muslim-palestinian sense of honour, social pressure on women to act in certain ways, fighting and a great imbalance in what women and men were allowed to do. I had this close up since I dated an arab guy who was not afraid to also tell me about the hypocrisy and sicknesses of his culture. I found that this culture was more raw and uncompassionate than in any western culture I have ever visited. More than that I felt that rational debates were stifled and people were generelly very uneducated. I think that much of the ills in that society are edified through islam.
When we see the Middle East in generel we get equally concerned. In Iran we have a mullocracy where people have been held in religiously sanctioned chains for many years. Homosexuals are hung from street lamps. In Yemen tourinsts are blown up and Bin Ladens face is hanging on street corners as a hero. In Saudi Arabia they have public execution squares where they go after friday prayer. Women there are not allowed to exercise nor drive a car. In Pakistan, Somalia and the Philippines there has been years of war with islamist groups… In Syria little girls are married off to old men. In Pakistan women are burned to death by husbands who tired of them…
Then there is the average Iranian who dreams of a life in the West. The one who does not support the system. The happy egyptian who bargains camels with a western tourist while some coptic Christians are murdered in a town up north. The happy Saudi woman who looks down on western women. The women and men who are just worried about the daily bread and live their own little lives.
In the 20’s Hitler was in prison and wrote a lethal book. No one thought he would amount to much. If you went to Germany in the 30s the average german was a good woman or man who was just minding their own business. Later there was a movement, then a political ideology and then that ideology got into power and caused the death of millions.
Today we dont have a handful of people of a sick ideology, we have a world religion where the prophet tells his followers to follow his example.
When you are faced with the Taliban, do you think they will listen to your pleas for compassion in the name of the Geneva convention? Think again.

I am all ears. Why don’t you tell us some stories here from Koran and hadith where Muhammad excelled in kindness, generosity and compassion. The latter being most important of course. When you read the NT you are constantly convicted by the goodness of Christ, You strike your chest even because He is so good. He acts, not in the ways that human justice demands. His teachings are the antithesis to retaliation. Indeed Jesus whole way of life and teaching in it self puts to shame anyone who wants to speak of retaliation and his own honour and his own justice. thats why the misdeeds of Muhammad cry loudly to heaven… Whenever did he see a non muslim and actually did something extraordinarily good for them? Wherever did he see a sinner and say: “I don’t judge you for I am but a man.” ?
I would like to know… where are the shelters, hospitals, homes for women that have been abused. Where are the practical aid for people who are not muslims? Where are these things based on Muhammads splendid example. We have many hospitals and schools called Sacret Heart. Heart, you see… the heart of Jesus. Where is the heart of Muhammad?
Whenever did Muhammad act with a compassion that takes your breath away? When the Jews came and begged him to spare their lives he declined and ordered a massacre.
According to hadith he tells people not to be moved by compassion when they stone adulterers and scourge those who comitted sexual sins. But as Wafa Sultan rightly says; “the man who has no compassion also has no spirituality”.
This is common sense.
Jesus was kind to those who mocked Him, He prayed for those who nailed Him to the cross. He spoke words of forgiveness in His toughest hour… when an adulteress was brought to Him He said: “Let the man who has no sin cast the first stone on her”. They all left. And He said. “Neither do I condemn you, go in peace and sin no more.”
It is written that He was often sad by the hardened hearts of men.
Then Muhammad came. He reinstalled tyranny and harshness. In all the Hadith I read I never was once surprised at his kindness. Not once, Zaki. Only apalled and repulsed and full of surprise that people could actually call him holy.

Nobody denies that there are good and bad people in the North, East, West, and South.
And most bad people were originally good, but became bad due to external influences not completely of their making, and it is possible as well as necessary to try to make them good and save them from their misery.
But some people (like the Germans under the Nazis, Russians and Chinese under the Communists, and Muslims in Islamic countries, ) are trapped (like Satan traps evil souls in Hell).
The governments or authorities in these cases will not allow truth, or light to enter into their traps, or allow the trapped people to leave their traps and get saved.
In all these cases, we can notice that Satan (unlike GOD who gives us freedom) always reduces the freedom of their subjects. They believe that their subjects have no brains and that they should blindly obey their captors. In all these cases, they use lies, coersion, and punishments to keep the people from knowing or even thinking about the outside world.
I would have agreed with what you said, if the Islamic countries (who are advanced tecnologically, have modern roads, and buildings, even having computers, TV, automobiles, etc. and having more money than they could spend, ) had freedom of press, could chose their religion, could build places of worship like church or synagogue. Instead, their e-mails are screened, internet sites are blocked, books and newspapers are censored, or not allowed to be imported, they are not allowed to wear clothes of their choice etc. etc. In short, they are trapped. They are slaves to some evil power who believes that their subjects are imbeciles and do not know to choose right from wrong.
Even when God has given Man the right to CHOOSE Right or Wrong, why is it that a bunch of perverted Mullas are allowed to dictate to the rest of the people what clothes to wear, or which God to pray to?
Will you be allowed to make a posting (like the one we are making here) in Saudi Arabia? To me, driving big cars or having an LCD TV or a computer is less important than having my freedom to choose My GOD, my newspaper, or books to read.
The day (be it because of Islamic terrorists, or Nazis or Communists) these freedoms are denied in America, Europe or other free places, we can say that the forces of Satan has prevailed against those of GOD on this earth.
But we should try to save the trapped people from Satan, not only for them, but also for ourselves. If you have a poor neighbor who is infected with Swine Flu, it will be in your interest to give him money, and get him treated, because if you don’t you will become the next victim.
Let us pray to GOD, (maker of Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Communists, Nazis etc) that good things like Life, Truth, Love, Forgiveness, etc, will overcome the Death, Destruction, Lies, Hatred, and Punishments that are being totted around in the world by some misguided people.

I am sorry your views are mis-representd. We Christians have had to put up with lots of discrimination and predudice. In fact it was not so long ago that it was alleged that a Catholic Priest was having illicit sex with women 30-miles apart. It was alleged the priest in question regularly visited some 35 such women. Given the travelling time, it followed that to make love to so many women in a single week [as was alleged] he had to be working from 04.00 until 0.20. That means he got only 2 hours sleep a day. Now that is impossible but it illustratrates how far some are prepared to go to give the Church of Christ a bad name.

Thomas Aquinas has never been believed to be sinless. If he wrote it was okay that heretics are killed and the clergy listened to this anti-christian teaching then thats their problem.
But its not a problem for Christianity per se, because Aquinas was clearly out of line with Christ if he said this.
In Islam Muhammad is believed to be sinless, unlike Aquinas. Therefore when Muhammad has sex with a 9 year old a Muslim will rather defend him and find excuses than admit that his act was foul. Just look at endless threads… even Muslims here start saying that Aisha was happy to be with the prophet and that she was already in puperty. This is sick.
Thats the problem with Islam.
You have people imitating Jesus and the world will be a better place. I for one think that a lot of good things in western societies have been possible through the Gospel in people’s hearts.
If you have people imitating Muhammad then you as an infidel will face some hardship.
