Why do you think God allowed Protestantism?

This post is just scary. :bigyikes:

Just out of curiosity you don’t hang out with Richard Wagner do you?
🙂 Just where do you think that the missing tribes of Israel are? Is it not written, that ALL ISRAEL SHALL BE SAVED? Where are these missing tribes? E. Raymond Capt (Australian Archeologist) has re-interpreted the Assyrian tablets, and supports the thread that I wrote. Who am I to argue his findings? 🙂

What that really does, is give the weaker in faith and knowledge
and incentive to strive to do good in fear.

When in reality, the motive should rather be, out of the will to want to do good, out of love rather than fear.

Assurance of ones salvation will free us up to engage in the fight to become victorious over the elements of this world.

I don’t fear purgatory since I’m in the very presence of God. Catholics that fear purgatory, from my point of view, are not as knowledgable about it or the character of God.

Good understanding and one which is in line with my views.

At a given point, all Jews will become Christians, for they will see who Christ really was and is.

🙂 Thank you for your response. I also believe, that any corrections to the Word of God, will come by way of the Israelite prophets/saints, as they have in the past per the Bible (prophets, Jesus Christ, apostles, disciples, etc., etc.). Why would God choose a prophet other than an Israelite to teach His anointed, chosen people? 🙂

A person of reason. I would hope you are a person of reason. The “lost tribes of Isreal” have been mixed in with other populations. But a little study of Judean history will show you that all the tribes eventually were represented in Judah because many left the northern tribes and moved to the more stable and faithful southern tribal areas. So a statement about “true Jews” wiping out “false Jews or Israelis” is just scary. Which is why I brought up Wagner. I did it to be kind. However, in this age of information and access to all sorts of history I find it strange that people hold to these beliefs.

I am so… gee, nice to meet someone who knows all about me - and everything else…
I feel the same way.

If one person hallucinates, are we all still in the same reality? It’s hard to talk about objectivity when communication is inherintly subjective.

Name one or two reasons you think God allowed Protestantism.

I think one reason might be that Catholicism is so… difficult, that maybe God wanted there to be an “easier, softer” way that would lead people to Christ (and He knew that many would then be led to the RC Church)?? Just a thought.

Also, i think that Protestants generally focus on different things than Catholics do, different “aspects” of God, things that are nonetheless very important… like, well… i just think that sometimes they are more… friendly… & i feel they may trust in God’s mercy more than a lot of Catholics…
It’s not that God “allows” Protestantism. Man is imbued with free will. Protestants are those who protested the Church, and formed their own worship systems after falling into heresy. Each of the various schools has a founder who was a man. A human being. That man was in possession of free will, and chose to use that free will to leave the Church. I’m not sure the Church is difficult. I guess you’d need to explain that a little bit. The Church is founded by Jesus Christ, who we believe to be God incarnate among men. He had a system and a way to achieve eternal life, and though it may seem to be complicated, it is really startlingly simple in instruction. So long as you accept the teaching, the authority and the justification of the Church, you can decide how complicated your own journey is. One of the most beautiful aspects of the Church is that once the fundamentals are understood at the level of the heart, and we are living those principles, the complexity is up to us. Personally, I love the richness and fullness of Church history, the intricate philosophical mosaic presented by the Doctors of the Church, and many other aspects that I choose to delve into with my own incurable thirst for knowledge of my Lord in every manner. But I know people in our Church, who will be at the side of our Father long before I’m finished cleansing my soul, who are quite happy without all the study, and writing etc. They simply live the gospels, and that’s fine too. In fact, they have my deepest admiration. God laid out this Kingdom for us all, and told us how to get here. He provided a familial network with his Church, and left us the Holy Spirit as an advocate and guide. Beyond that, however, God wants man to CHOOSE Him. To choose His path, and that includes His Church. Our journeys in getting there are entirely our own. He neither allows, nor forbids our journeys. He just loves us, and calls us to come home

Peace to you,

Steven.

i sometimes think this question is along the same lines of this one:

Why does God allow pornography?

He only allows free will…

“We” allow such things…

Even so, good things have come from it…

Right???

Name one or two reasons you think God allowed Protestantism.
I only have 1 reason - God allowed Protestantism just like He allowed Adam & Eve to sin…He gave us free will and we human beings are free to use it for the Glory of God or for the glory of ourselves. We are free. Protestantism is not the Will of God, but He allows it because humans are free to accept or reject His Church.

It’s logical to me that since God Himself took on our humanity and was born into the human race to die to create His Church for our sanctification through worshipping Him the way He wants to be worshipped, if we truly want to Glorify God rather than glorify ourselves, we would either remain in His Church or we would immediately upon discovering it join His Church so we can truly worship God the way He wants to be worshipped. It is historically proven that the only Church in existence that can be traced back to Jesus and His Apostles is the Catholic Church.

🙂 It is written, that the Israelites will come from all corners of the earth in order to return to their homeland. It is also written, that on that day, all Israel will rejoice and it will be even greater than the day when they were led out of Egypt (the annual passover celebration). Think also of the converse of the statement, “There are those that say they are Jews, but are not.” (ie. There are those that think they are gentiles, but are in fact descendants of the lost tribes of Israel.). The historical battles, slavery, etc. since the 1600’s tend to point in the direction of my original thread response. 🙂

BTW Look3467 and Thornwald you don’t really believe those statements do you. You’re just having a joke right? Sometimes I miss the banter and take people seriously. We’re you trying to joke?

Speculation and Fantasy. Where is it writen? Not authoritative I can assure you.

The culmination of the redeeming of the human soul was at the cross.
Prior to the cross everything was in a state of death but after the cross life was restored.
Therefore, any messages coming forth after the cross are revelations of what is all ready written by the Holy Spirit in us or as you say presence.

Revelations in my understanding is the opening of the spiritual eye to see the spiritual message already existing in the word which is hidden from the world.

Jesus was the last prophet, priest and king, and besides Him there are no other.

There will be expositors of the word which will lead some into new light or into darkness and reverenced as prophets.

They would be building a foundation other than what was already laid down by Christ.

When it comes to the things of God, I am dead serious!

God is a wonderful Father and there is no reason to search Him out in every way, to the depths you are willing to go.

Pro 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

It is my honor to search Him out and my enlightenment.

i agree except that i have a problem with that statement that God “wants us to worship Him”… Yes, He does. . but i think it would be better to say that He wants us to be WITH Him in Heaven for eternity and of course, we must love/worship Him to do that… A lot of non-believers think that if God is all powerful, and all that… why would he require us to worship Him? That’s why i am making this point… and i never understood that word myself, or that idea: why we should worship Him… worship per se… I guess i get this picture in my mind of pagan worship (?)… I don’t know… i guess what i am saying is that some people have a problem with that word…

I think he wants us to love him… which is about the same thing, i guess… Again, i am just thinking about what some non-believers may think about this word Worship. I am a believer and i am not particularly fond of it… not sure why… I just prefer to say God wants us to be with Him and love Him…

Is this making any sense?? 🤷

You’ve actually said nothing nor is it a real reply. The only thing said is you take the things of God seriously but this fantasy that the Vikings and the Germanic tribes are true Jews while the Jews tortured by them are not is troubling. Are you in favor of separating the races into their ethnicity and letting them fight it out? Just curious.

What is important is what you believe, never mind what others believe.
I am troubled by your words “I am a believer and i am not particularly fond of it”.

To say you believe, present tense, is not the same as to say you are a believer, past tense.

To believe is conditional on what may lead you to become a believer.

Now here is truth: “Christ came to save that which was lost”.
Mat 18:11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.

To believe that you are the one He came to save, and believe it with all your heart, mind and soul, you are saved as a believer!

Joh 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

When you open your heart to Christ, He comes in and abides in you, and begins to clean house.

The house cleaning is the working out of your salvation.

The bible does speak of the return to Israel.
Zec 10:6 And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them again to place them; for I have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am the LORD their God, and will hear them.

Were they scattered?

And I don’t joke unless you think it.

🙂 The Assyrian tablets apparently ‘track’ the movements of the Israelites (all the way into mainland Europe, British Isles, etc. My referral to the holocaust, is stated as a potential, only. It would however, make perfect sense, if the Germanic tribes are in fact Israelites. 🙂

What kind of whimsical theory is this? What are these “Assyrian Tablets”? Can you give a link to a well-recognized scientific site?

Since the era of modern genetics, wouldn’t this be widespread news if it were true?

It sounds dubious.

That makes no sense whatsoever - they are not even remotely Semitic.
