You don’t have to apologize. If you believe that your conversation with others is fruitful and bring peace to you and others, then go on with it.

The answer to the question is we don’t know. How can a perfect God love such vile creatures. It is a mystery that testifies to the magnificent glory of our awesome God.

“Why does God love?”

St. John tells us “God is love”.

Love proceeds from the Father and the Son, and is the resultant of their loving, and, so taken it is a proper name of the Holy Spirit. In this sense, the “Veni Creator Spiritus” speaks of ‘the loving fountain, fire and LOVE’.

It is a defined doctrine of the Faith that the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity “proceeds eternally from the Father and the Son…as from one principle…and by one spiration” (John xv 26)

The relationship is so strong between the Father and the Son, it is eternally a Person, Love.

These are the words of the Second Council of Lyons, the 14th General Council held in 1274. This dogma is denied as regards the Son, by the Orthodox Eastern Church, which claims that the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father only.

He cannot be contrary to His nature.
