My name is “Quincy” and I devised the list name to flush out bigots for a study on how women are perceived and treated in the Catholic Church and on various forums. The work will be made available to Catholic bishops, and various people will be quoted as to how they treat those they think are female as well as how a person who asks questions outside the box are perceived. You’d be amazed at the collection I have over just a few months.

Your little group has really hit the jackpot for non-Christian behavior.

(As an aside, I just can’t understand why some people think women must be just like men and do every thing a man can do in order to be worth anything. That sounds like sexism to me. Or maybe just self-loathing? That’s not very heathly… :nope

At any rate, as to saying the Devil may be a literary device, that would explain why God can’t destroy him (as it would destroy free-will, presuming he is just a bad aspect of human nature.) But I don’t think any Biblical evidence points to him just being a literary device.

Don’t worry. The bishops who’ve seen the preliminaries are used to seeing the real world and how our fellow/sister Roman Catholics act in real-life situations. They aren’t from Mars or Venus either.

There was no baiting involved. I simply used sample responses from another forum as well as my own to respond to certain cues that came from this set of posts.

And by the way, the majority of bishops know that there is no conceivable reason to not ordain women except because Rome says, “Because I said so”. These are bright men who have studied. First of all, your mother and sister came out of the same batch of conditioning and your girlfriends are likely similarly conditioned… that’s why they’re your pals. There’s such a thing as the Stockholm Syndrome. Look it up. It means indentifying with one’s oppressor. You’ve never known anything else, so it all looks normal.

What are the reasons? Because Jesus chose men in an era when only men had credibility in his culture?
Because a priest has to image Christ? Then, if we are made in God’s image, woman and men both image Christ unless the Trinitarian doctrine is a false doctrine. You simply can’t have it both ways.
Because women have babies? So do men become parents.
What else?

Consider where evil exists. Is it mainly outside of humanity, or are we generating the majority of it ourselves? This forum has another thread talking nonsense about Islam… believing in another God. How ridiculous! Our God is called “Allah” in another language and even our liturgy uses “Allah” in The Lord’s Prayer in the Middle East. We need someone to hate in order to get an adrenaline rush every day because we are petty, narrow, and spiritually just about dead. Where is Christ’s Love among us? We’re too caught up in what we’re supposed to think rather than thinking about and with God to bring forth the Kingdom.

What an odd perception! Women are not trying to be “just like men”; they’re being called by the Holy Spirit. Imagine thinking it’s something perverse! … and you’re still wondering where evil exists?

Right. But this “Satan” also inhabits humans, often with their permission through willfulness and murderous thoughts. Consider where the venom is generated. It is not inadvertently coming in, but invited in by those who are not thinking as Christ thinks.
