Why doesn't God heal homosexuals?

I find a pizza attractive, I pass it by for a number of reasons.

The will commands (hopefully informed by criteria well placed in the conscience of the intellect) the body to move along to serve a higher good.

It’s like two half-generations of people have forgotten that we are human and have been given a (developable) will.

I think the secular psychologists have corrupted our understanding of what makes us humans.

Sorry a large number of studies have shown the number of partners an average homo has dwarfs the average hetero.

Ok… I think you are agreeing with me?

Not entirely. You remarked you’d never seen an argument why acting on SSA is unique. I tried to offer a distinguishing factor.
I said i’d never seen a good one and i still haven’t.

And the reason for that is,the church’s denial of homosexuality as a natural condition. By being so excluded, they’ve been left out in the cold and kept from the life giving nature of the church. Causing all sorts of things to go wrong.

That’s more a reflection of sexes than sexuality. Most straight men would love to have sex with women as often as homosexuals do. It’s the women that don’t!!!

That’s just the thing, it hasn’t always been.
Nonsense. I can’t comment on the history of behaviour of bishops, but it has no bearing on the teaching of the Church. The sins of clergy are not a statement that their act was in fact good.

Oh this mythos about pedophiles and homosexuality being “uncontrollable”. These things are not uncontrollable Or they wouldn’t be sin. According to your belief. Unless you’ve been lobotomized and can’t control your movements and you are shocked and touch someone. If you can’t control you are not responsible. Sin is “knowingly, willingly, and a conscious decision.” Life is about EXPERIENCE. All suffering is self induced. We do it to ourselves. To sum up people in one word, “confused” or better in two words “totally confused”. The hardest lessons last the longest. God will not do our work for us.

Science is not a method to study immaterial matters like desires, love, and the will.

Psychologists have some of the lowest GRE scores and make a mockery of real science with their over use of “surveys” “psych 101 students”, etc.

Skinner and his pals decided that there was no such thing as the will, the soul, and so forth…and just look what they’ve done the field.

Most PEER reviewed pscyh articles (reviewed and published) are irreproducible!

Ah…now you’re beginning to understand the role of complementarity!

That’s because you’re talking about having to somehow reproduce subject matter for a study to be replicated. If you’re studying people as individuals you’re never going to get a direct reproduction beyond an observation and the reason why Skinner observed that wasn’t that the soul didn’t exist. It’s that he couldn’t observe it.

It’s not a natural condition; quite the contrary.

More learning would be done on the subject of sexuality by throwing into the study mix other expressions of sexuality…fetishes, how fantasies develop, 3 somes, high risk sex (sex in public places), bestiality, and dirtier forms of sex that involve misuse of human waste, bisexuality, trans of all forms.

Homosexuality needs to be studied within this context.

But the “activist lobby” won’t have it.

Then by definition, it’s not science.

And there’s a mistake in thinking that science is the only way we learn about natural realities.

It’s really the error (and it is an error) of empiricism.

Rau, what else would the mistake be? Failing these persons?
Perhaps read the article you quoted? See if you find any suggestion the catechism is to be rewritten to eliminate the sinfulness of same sex sexual acts. The pope did reference the catechism, saying:
“We must accompany well – what the Catechism says. The Catechism is clear.”

You’ve just lost the argument by wandering over into the alt rightosphere. You don’t study sexuality by incorporating the industry around it. You observe it one case at a time. Please, do some more reading on the matter and don’t just parrot what some right wing kook has to say on it.

If you properly read the article you would note that it declared an obvious change in his thinking from when he said that about the catechism in 2013 to when he said gays are owed an apology last year. Also, I never said that it suggested anything of the sort. That was ME saying so. And it has been amended before and will be again. It’s not set in stone. It’s on paper.
