I don’t think the Holy Bible can be considered to be a “tool”. Why are you so defensive about statues? If you like them, fine.
Isn’t the Bible a distraction from Jesus by those standards then?Protestants think Catholic statues are a distraction from Jesus. When we are in the sanctuary we focus entirely on Jesus and His sacrifice for us, and His promise of the resurrection.
It’s just a book? Right? What makes it more special than God talking to our hearts directly?
And…how is it “not” a tool used in worship?
Why am I defensive about sacramentals (statues, holy water, annointing oil, paintings, churches, incense, etc…)?
Because God used them too.
That’s why.
So, if their good enough for God, their good enough for me!
I’m not debating with you directly as you don’t seem to have a problem with our practice, but just verbalizing it for anybody watching who does have an issue with what Christians have been doing for the past 2,000 years.
