David, since you are an expert on Muslim as well church subjects, can you please tell me why the Muslims deny the crucifixion of Jesus?

The Muslims do not believe in the Crucifixion of Jesus. Please tell why they do not believe. IT IS BECAUSE THEY DO NOT TRUST THE GOSPEL!
And this makes Prophet Muhammad weep! The verses of the Gospel prove they are divine. Quranic verses about corruption refer to specific redactions or mis-interpretations, not to the whole Book itself! That is charging God with imposture: to give a Book and then take it back?

What is your answer? Which of the two would you suggest? Or you have some other answer? I don’t know what they all think. All I know is He was put on the cross and died there. There was no coming down. The earth shook. The curtain was ripped and so on.
The same thing happened to the Báb at high noon, 9 July, 1850. But He told the jailer He was not done with His Mission, when they came to get Him. After the regiments volleys and the smoke cleared, they found Him back in His cell. The jailer and commander quit their posts, and another regiment had to be brought in… Strange they wanted Jesus to come down off the cross if He was the Christ, and other heinous dishonorable things like “Who is it that’s hitting you!” His mercy is great to say “Forgive them…” exactly 490 years (70 X 7) after the decree to rebuild the Temple! That’s how HE forgave.
Now Islam does not deny the VIrgin Birth. WHY DENY THE CRUCIFIXION?

It is important to know from you because it is the topic and you have been passing remarks about the Islamic version. Also do not tell me that Jesus died in body but did not die in spirit. If Jesus died in body on the cross then you must believe in resurrection because Jesus was seen walking about after three days. It was Jesus himself with the same body. He met his friends and had some food from them. Welcome.
Why ask me this and say don’t give such and such an answer? What if I say:
The body died bro’. The pre-existent Spirit of God RUHULLAH returned to God. All souls go to God for judgment. The soul of the Messiah kept on going to a high station, from which to judge the souls of Jews who claimed to believe in Him. But the Divine Manifestation is more than the soul of Jesus, which was the lamp for that LIGHT!
Now Christians want the body of that Nazarene 2000 years ago to come back down out of the sky like Sky-Lab or something, and they will clean miss Him when He gets on the bus!
"Where the body is, there will the eagles be gathered."(Luke 17:37)
Where the body of Baha’u’llah is laid, there you will find the noble eagles and judges of mankind. Bless you planten, I like you.

It is fine alright! Glad you used a good four-letter word.

IF the Lord of Creation wants to unify all faiths, no one can stop it; and if He doesn’t want to, no one can do it. (This is a turn on Gamaliel’s phrasing)

DavidMark, again you have given a round about answer to my questions. In addition, you went on a lecturing spree which I had never approved. That is about Bab and Bahaullah. I never asked anything about Bab or Bahaullah.

You said:
IT IS BECAUSE THEY DO NOT TRUST THE GOSPEL!
And this makes Prophet Muhammad weep !
That was a bad reply. You have given a false answer, knowing well that Muslims believe in the gospel more than you. And you are saying as if Muhammad was believing in Crucifixion but Muslims are not believing it. What kind of a person are you?

Again your old story that the body of Jesus died but spirit did not die. It went up to heavens. Now can you tell me when did the spirit of Jesus go upto heavens?? After two days, or two weeks or two months? It went up once or twice?

I am sure that you are giving a wrong lecture here on many important points. I had honestly asked you about what you understood. But you have, like always, avoided the answer and proper approach.

Nevermind. You keep on lecturing and your preaching. I do not mind your lectures. Your friends, the Babis and Bayanis and Azalis have also come on the scene. May be we can learn something from them. Good-Bye.

I like that phrase, though - “lecturing spree”. It’s funny, especially coming from our resident serial lecturer. 🙂

What I am gathering from this discussion is that Muslims don’t believe in the Crucifixion, but believe in the Ascension - and Bahai believe in the Crucifixion, but don’t believe in the Ascension (both of which are recorded in the Gospels). 🤷

I like that phrase, though - “lecturing spree”. It’s funny, especially coming from our resident serial lecturer. 🙂
I believe he has given up on us naughty, naughty Christians and he’s after those naughty, naughty Ba’hai’s 😃

I’m sorry, did CAF pass a memo which I didn’t get which states that pre-posting posts required approval by you?
Should we inundate him with all of our posts by PM or email to make sure we get his approval first? 😃

DavidMark, again you have given a round about answer to my questions. In addition, you went on a lecturing spree which I had never approved. That is about Bab and Bahaullah. I never asked anything about Bab or Bahaullah.

That was a bad reply. You have given a false answer, knowing well that Muslims believe in the gospel more than you.** !?! **And you are saying as if Muhammad was believing in Crucifixion but Muslims are not believing it. **Don’t give up on me now! This is exacatly what I am saying. This verse of the Quran is mis-interpretated by the Islamic “street”. If you say Christians have overlooked this or that, the same applies to Muslims. You are supposed to be ummatan wastan, an impartial or mediating community; although I believe it means “an intermediate community” after Christian and before Babí-Bahá’í. I’ve been telling you for months that Muslim prophecies are fulfilled and you are like the Jews, Christians and don’t want to hear it. Why do you think Jews overlooked Jesus? Why did’nt Christians accept the prophecies about the Paraclete? Because they MIS-interpreted their own Scriptures. Do you think Muslims are immune from that malady? Praise God for Interpretation from God! **
Again your old story that the body of Jesus died but spirit did not die. It went up to heavens. Now can you tell me when did the spirit of Jesus go up to heavens?? After two days, or two weeks or two months? It went up once or twice? OMG No wonder Islam made no progress in the West!

Ecclesiastes12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. Or do you mistrust Old Testament too?

Is Jesus different from other men? No, He and Muhammad were servants whose bodies returned to dust, and whose mighty Spirits returned to God. What is it you want?

As long as you make sure that your PM’s / emails are NOT too lengthy…😃
:rotfl:

Do we have to have pictures of our Thanksgiving dinners approved too, before we send them to hamba? - we know how much he loves our dinners. 😃

That doesn’t answer my question at all. Christ saved us through His death and Resurrection. I’m just asking you to explain that quote.
Happy Thanksgiving to you too! 🙂
Just how does the Resurrection work if you didn’t see it?
Just swallow it, like the six-day creation of planet earth etc?
When I said the body does not save, I meant “the flesh profiteth nothing”.
I wasn’t there, never saw Him before or after the crucifixion,
but I’ve always believed in Jesus and loved Him. I want to hold onto His hem!
Don’t you Planten: You love Jesus, don’t you? What do Muslims love?:o

What if Mary Magdalene had not run and told Peter with excitement?
It would have been lost in history except the spirit went into the Body of the church;
and what has come across the centuries to me are His teachings, which have spirit and power and life. Few people would deny that, but few people take hold of them firmly.
This is how the Resurrection works. His loved ones still welcome him into their homes and hearts and hold tightly to Him.
In trying to explain my faith, i don’t say that denials of it only makes it stronger for me!
And on it goes…my sons two sons will teach their grandson who will teach…

Why ask me this and say don’t give such and such an answer? What if I say:

Then where is Jesus’ Body. Jews desperately wanted it to disprove disciples. Romans needed it to guard their honour.

Disciples would have been in serious error and blasphemy while witnessing and talking against God for saying Jesus was risen without it ever happening. But all of them died for Resurrected Christ isn’t it (for the Truth).

**May be Bagha’u’llah have an answer about the body of Christ? with evidence…? I wonder…? **

May be you don’t even know Jesus Christ has appeared not only to the early disciples but to many through all these milleneums in person and confirming the Gospel the Bible speaks is correct.

So he is a real experience to us Christians not a myth.

** Okay DavidMark, then you please interpret it for us correctly**.
If you say Christians have overlooked this or that, the same applies to Muslims
.

I do not say christians have overlooked something. They have their meaning and they believe it according to that. You cannot malign Muslims in that way even though it is true..
You are supposed to be ummatan wastan, an impartial or mediating community; although I believe it means “an intermediate community” after Christian and before Babí-Bahá’í.
** No, David I do not agree with your meaning of Ummat e Wusta. I have already explained the meaning of that verse in another thread. Ummat Wusta is not an intermediate nation in time. It is an even based middle way nation in the matters of beliefs. It is not inclined to one side, to one extreme.
There is no need to wedge us (Muslims) in between the christians and your Bahai’s…**
**I’ve been telling you for months that Muslim prophecies are fulfilled and you are like the Jews, Christians and you don’t want to hear it **
** Yes, David, I know all the prophesies of the bibleOT and BibleNT and Quran and Hadith have been fulfilled. I also know that the Muslims are now much degraded to the (bottom) level of the old time Jews and christians. That was also according to the prophecy of the prophet Muhammad. I do not want a lecture on that because I already know about it.
You are trying to avoid the real subject and you are wandering in un-necessary fields. Crucifixion is being discussed here. And you are bringing in Bab and Bahaullah who do not belong in this topic.

I tell you, you are practicing “I’iraadh” i.e in Arabic (I’iraadh) means avoiding the real issue. = Not coming to the point.
.**
**Why do you think Jews overlooked Jesus? Why did’nt Christians accept the prophecies about the Paraclete? Because they MIS-interpreted their own Scriptures. Do you think Muslims are immune from that malady? Praise God for Interpretation from God! **
Yes, I understand. I knew that interpretation even though I am not a baha’i. But that is not the subject in hand. You are slipping away from the topic

**Here I repeat my simple question again. See below:
Again your old story that the body of Jesus died but spirit did not die. It went up to heavens. Now can you tell me when did the spirit of Jesus go up to heavens?? After two days, or two weeks or two months? It went up once or twice? **
OMG No wonder Islam made no progress in the West!
** Nevermind progress. Instead of replying, you say OMG… What is that? Why is that?
I ask you again, if according to you, the body of Jesus died on the cross and the spirit or soul returned to God Almighty then how was Jesus seen walking about after three days? Did the soul come back in the same body after three days? Explain what you know.**
**Ecclesiastes12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. Or do you mistrust Old Testament too?
Is Jesus different from other men? No, He and Muhammad were servants whose bodies returned to dust, and whose mighty Spirits returned to God. What is it you want?**
** I do not mistrust BibleOT one bit. I love it and understand the bibleOT.

Very good. You say, He and Muhammad were servants whose bodies returned to dust,You may believe that. You are coming around to the topic in hand slowly, reluctantly. So tell when the spirit of Jesus returned to God, exactly, in time?? Welcome, DavidMark. **.

A believer in Islam and a believer in an Islamic heresy battle it out.

Eagle Watch asked: Then where is Jesus’ Body?
Maybe buried in Jerusalem somewhere. Why do you think the Jewish archeologists are tearing up the Old City? If it was so important Bahá ‘u’ lláh would have said where it was, but, “the flesh profiteth nothing.” “Blessed are those who believe and have not seen.”

Eagle Watch asked: May be you don’t even know Jesus Christ has appeared not only to the early disciples but to many through all these milleneums in person and confirming the Gospel the Bible speaks is correct. So he is a real experience to us Christians not a myth.
**Of course, He is a real experience and a living Presence. I have dreamed of Him myself, thank God, and hope to be with Him forever, and my father was so moved by a dream of Him, after visiting the Holy Land, it changed his life. **

Friend Planten said: Ummat Wusta is not an intermediate nation in time. It is an even based middle way nation in the matters of beliefs. It is not inclined to one side, to one extreme.

Your interpretation of that verse in Qur’an 2:143 is typical of the Arab Muslim “street,” which is not firmly grounded in divine interpretation. There are extremists such as the world has never seen!
You should remember another verse. “None knoweth the interpretation thereof except God and they that are firmly grounded in knowledge.” [3:7]
Who is better grounded in knowledge than the Ruler of the Day of Reckoning?
I believe that is Baha’u’llah, and He says it is a community “intermediate” between two others. The way He says it is wonderful to me:

If Prophethood has been sealed with Him, how is the Prophet’s nation said to be intermediate amongst the nations? In this wise ascertain the limit of their cognizance…” ~Bahá’u’lláh, (Surih of Patience, provisional translation)

i personally have thought the soul of Jesus immediately returned to God at death, like everyone else. But the Spirit of His Faith is still working in the world. This began three days after the crucifixion, when the Christians became excited and woke up. The Body of the Church began teaching boldly… i hope this answers your question: 🙂
'Abdu’l-Baha said: **Observe that it is said, “The Son of man is in heaven,” (John 3:13) while at that time Christ was on earth. Notice also that it is said that Christ came from heaven, though He came from the womb of Mary, and His body was born of Mary. It is clear, then, that when it is said that the Son of man is come from heaven, this has not an outward but an inward signification; it is a spiritual, not a material, fact. The meaning is that though, apparently, Christ was born from the womb of Mary, in reality He came from heaven, from the center of the Sun of Reality, from the Divine World, and the Spiritual Kingdom.
And as it has become evident that Christ came from the spiritual heaven of the Divine Kingdom, therefore, His disappearance under the earth for three days has an inner signification and is not an outward fact.
In the same way, His resurrection from the interior of the earth is also symbolical;
it is a spiritual and divine fact, and not material; and likewise His ascension to heaven is a spiritual and not material ascension. **( Some Answered Questions, p. 103)

Therefore this Baha’is understanding is that early subjective spiritual visions of His presence were recorded, because their impact on the hearts was no less real, or even more real than the world of mammon. Even if His body was seen and physically felt, it doesn’t help my spirit. His love and teachings do. If this is a bad lecture, sue me!🙂

I don’t understand why some people continually think the topic of this thread is “What do the Bahai say about the Crucifixion of Christ”
