This is a joke, or a serious theory?
dzheremi, many wish it is just a joke. BUT IT ISN’T.

I believe the meaning of 666 has really been finally interpreted. Since over 10 years ago, I knew (thanks to God’s grace), that islam was the anti-christ and I have been telling many people, but I could never decipher the meaning of ‘666’ until I heard Walid Shoebat quite recently too.

But you know what? Now that we know who is the real anti-christ, the next big hurdle ‘suddenly’ appears. How do we as christians now prepare for His coming ???!

Follow what Jesus said to do. And I have not read anywhere - nowhere - that it is sinful to stand up and say Islam is wrong. But I think we need to make sure that we are able to back ourselves up. It is hard because we get bashed, and we get joked at, and stuff like that but to think that it is ok to pass off Islam as some sort of ok thing, is just wrong and dangerous to people who might not know and to our own children.

I hate to be a wet blanket, but I think you guys are being taken in by an interpretation you agree with, rather than one that makes the slightest bit of sense. I can read Arabic and Greek, and I am not seeing this. For example, in his explanation of the “bism” in “Bismillah”, you can only get that reading from looking at the Greek sigma if you are including the period that is found in the snapshots posted by qwerk. The period, of course, is NOT part of the letter as written, but of punctuation after the word. The Arabic letter he is referring to is ba (ب), which is not correct if it is missing the dot below, because there are other letters that share this same base form, differing only by placement of the dot, so if you have no dot/s at all it is ambiguous. The Greek letter sigma looks like this in final position: ς . If you honestly think this looks like meem + siin (سم) as in “bism” (بسم), then I don’t know what to say. Again, I’m not seeing it, but maybe it’s just me.

Xi (ξ) absolutely DOES NOT work for “Allah”. It would be missing initial alif (“Allah” is الله, not لله), it would look very strange, etc. It is not really recognizable as anything if read the direction you actually read Arabic, as alif never connects from that side. (alif + any other letter following will never connect; it only connects at the end of the word, as in words like ليبيا “Libya”. So to see an Arab say that this is “Allah” when the Greek letter is clearly one stroke seems really dishonest or silly.

The stuff about the crossed swords is silly, too. Here is coat of arms of Saudi Arabia for you to judge for yourself. Russian also has this letter (Х, “kha”, pronounced like “ch” in “Bach” or Scottish “loch”), and if anyone tried to say that this were an Islamic symbol to a Russian (whose Cyrillic alphabet is derived from Greek), it would no doubt provoke much laughter. Ditto probably also from Copts (more Christians using a variant of Greek alphabet), This appears to be an instance of projection of one person’s bias onto his reading of the scriptures.

dzheremi,

The texts contained here is limited. You need to see the video. Your arguments are based on the little explanation that we are limited to here. I’m sure you can put up a sound challenge to Walid Shoebat over there with your opinions. 🙂

General note: Just realized a typo from reading over the post as quoted by Mosacked.

“The Greek letter sigma looks like this in final position: ς . If you honestly think this looks like meem + siin (سم) as in “bism” (بسم), then I don’t know what to say”

Bolded portion should read “siin + meem”, not the other way around…too much processing in both directions!

Anyway…to Mosacked:

I don’t know what you mean when you say I need to watch the video. I watched the “Mark of the Beast” video posted by Qwerk yesterday. Offering a challenge to Mr. Shoebat is not so much an issue, as the point is that his analysis is fanciful and not to be taken seriously merely based on his assumed pedigree as an ex-Muslim or a native Arabic speaker, much less because his analysis seems to reveal “truths” to you that are in fact anything but. It is snake oil, really.

Maybe you should take it up with Walid. You can probably contact him on his website: www.shoebat.com He has a ‘contact us’ form for you to submit your counter to what he says. The one thing that I do know is that he knows Arabic.

As for snake oil, the whole 666 thing to me is sometimes snake oil. The only time it has made sense is when Walid offered his explanation.

Something tells me that he has had people like you take this up with him and he probably can answer you better than I can.

like if he was the only one knows arabic 😃

I never said he was the only one that knows Arabic - I said if Walid is wrong then it is best to take it up with him. And show him why he is wrong. Question him. That is a foreign concept in Islam, I know.

I have admitted I have only watched it, and ONCE AGAIN since people can’t go back and read my posts - I am a skeptic to the whole thing. Although the bismallah is more rational than the 666 number standing on its own. The whole 666 thing has never made sense to me until I saw the video by Walid.

If it is wrong, then Walid would probably publish a video refuting what he originally put out. If he is correct, then so be it.

One incident does not make a man a crook. But multiples of it certainly does.**

As Christians we take God at His word.

1 – Does the Bible’s description of the Anti-Christ befit islam?
1 – Yes!. 1 John 2:22 tells us that the Anti-Christ denies the deity of Jesus and the Sonship of God. (* this is a core foundational belief of islam - the denial of the deity of christ)

2 – Does the Bible contain other references to the name of the Devil?
2 – Yes! In Isaiah 14, the original name of the devil was Heylel Ben Shachar. The root word of Heylel is HALAL. (* the commercial trademark used by islam is Halal)

3 – Does the Bible say how the followers of the devil will behave?
3 – Yes! In the book of Revelations, the anti-christ and followers will behead people. Something that islami fundamentalists are ALREADY doing. (* just look around you at what the islamic militants are doing)

There are MANY other examples given in the Bible that reveals to us how the Anti-Christ’s followers are like. Use them ALL to form a picture and you will see. ISLAM.

The bismillah’s similarity to the greek numeral of 666 is but one of many possibilities that point to islam being the religion of the devil. But like I said, if you’re not convinced by one, you can perhaps be convinced by many. But if you’re not convinced by many, then you cannot be convinced (the same symptomatic problem with some people still refusing to acknowledge that islam is not a peaceful religion). And effectively that really makes you a spiritually blind person. Something that none of us here can help you with regardless of whether you’re the wife, the daughter or the great grandmother.
  • Now, you know why God said that even if He sends a man, returned from the dead to warn men, these men would not believe?
