In a post explaining something of mine that she had misinterpreted, I was teasing that I had not misinterpreted JSYK to mean that she was admonishing myself and/or others that “Jesus Saves You Knuckleheads.” I was interpreting it correctly at “Just So You Know.”
yeah SS 😃 I must have overlooked where you interpreted it as Just so you know. NIGI! (Now I Get It)!

“Just so you know”… but, I had said I didn’t misinterpret her statement such that it would mean she was claiming that “Jesus Saves You Knuckleheads.”
Isn’t this a kind of either-or situation? One or the other applies in any case. 👍

Yes, that was part of the fun with it. Although, since she had been a little sensitive about what she thought was a “stinging” statement by me, I just wanted to let her know that I hadn’t chosen an interpretation (which could be very valid in proper context) that she had intended some kind of swipe at me with the word knucklehead… Compared to Christ, the second one can easily explain how we relatively fit in, although not really nice. However, when we have Him living in us, it becomes less appropriate to speak of it as such, as He is part of us. Without Him creating us, we are nothing; and without Him in our lives, we are not much at all. Thank God, that He is always making something out of nothing!

All throughout scripture, the Apostles appeared to be nothing more than knuckleheads. How many times did our Lord have to rebuke them and chastise them for their lack of faith? And they walked with, and were touched by Christ Himself! They watched innumerable miracles occur. Since we are less than the Aposltes, what does that make us? Renewed cause for humility.

Christ’s peace.

And Peter, the first Pope, was the biggest one!

Yes, they were before Pentecost, without having the Holy Spirit of God live in them. There is a clear depiction of what they understood and could accomplish without Christ’s help in this way, although they saw these things as observers. Many touched Christ, and nothing happened, due to not having sufficient faith. After Christ gave them the Holy Spirit, they were no longer this way. They could no longer be considered knuckleheads, but not of their own merit, except to say “yes” to God.

Why consider this a renewed cause for humility?

I think that everything should lead me to increased humility. If Christ’s chosen, faithless as they were at times, were superior to me, I must place myself as the lowest of Christians. I just need to be humble. That has not (ahem!) always been the case. It’s in accord with being a servant, I would guess.

Yes, it’s yet another reason to be reminded of the need for humility. A main reason I think of in the need to be humble is that God comes to those who are humble. It seems that His Kingdom remains hidden in plain “sight” from those who are arrogant.

Very good cept you forgot to end the thesis with…:Religion is the opiate of the people…signed Karl Marx!!! Karl came from a family that had to be of the bravest…his dad was a Rabbi in Germany…but he made the mistake of sending lazy Karl to college where in he fell in with a bunch of loafers who had joined this communist movement…backed by wealthy industrialists and corporations. The RCC grow out of ,not of a corupte Jewish church but from God for He had sent his Son to teach Mankind how to live…the clergy of Israel were PC and afraid of losing their jobs so they did Jesus in…a man who promised all equality before Gods judgement just HAD to go! We see more and morfe the result of the secularist egalitarian utopina model societies…one with barn yard immorality, anything goes except complaining about it…a once degenerate life style ,of the outdated Bohemian yellow house of Van Gogh and hollyweird is now just down the block…sure get rid of 'organized’religion and all will be free…not;many of the woodstock free love,do your own thing crowd made it to 50…just pawns in the movement that hates Goodness and Truth or as Karl Marx used to smirk "I just luv the masses (drop the M)…they can be so conditioned to react like Pavlovs mutts…on cue…
