I would say, yes. For one thing, there is never a guarantee that both spouses will always be able to work, so even if both spouses do work in the beginning, it is a good idea to not depend too much on both of those salaries. If an illness or disability comes a long and one salary is suddenly gone, there would be financial problems.
It doesn’t always work out but you would want a husband who is willing to take care of both you and your children. One, you never know what health problems can occur during a pregnancy or childbirth, leaving the wife needing to stay home or sometimes it is health problems children have that bring the mom home.
Also, many women who have worked hard for their career, after having a baby, realize they are not ready to go back to work but rather find they have a strong desire to stay home with their family.
