Know that he is fully indoctrinated in a very new, very shallow faith. This “faith” absolutely condemns the Catholic church out of blissful ignorance and the leading of the spirit of antichrist. I see each of the hackneyed and false accusations repeated here. It’s almost like programming! Only a revelation by the Holy Spirit can assist such lost believers.

But, they remain beloved souls, so we are called to lift them up in prayer.

It took me over 20 years to switch from Protestant to Catholic. I didn’t have enough faith. I had to read the Bible several times, many history books and several theology books before I got it. Don’t give up for some of us it takes a while.

At any rate, the topic is “Why the Bible is most assuredly not a Catholic book.” Nothing said so far supports that premise. Running around making all kinds of other objections to the Catholic faith does nothing to advance the argument.

Amen, Perry! I was here for 20 years before a sudden revelation erased my last objection to Catholic doctrine. Poof. Gone! Reminds me of the parable of the vineyard workers hired at 5:00 PM who were paid the full days wage.

No one has been able to dispute that the bible is a Jewish book.

1. The party asserting a proposition bears the burden of proof. You asserted the proposition. You bear the burden of proof.
2. How do you know who wrote certain of the Bible’s books? For instance, the Gospel of Mark never actually names its author: you rely on (gasp!) Catholic Tradition to identify Mark as the author. So if you reject Catholic Tradition, then how do you know who wrote the Gospel of Mark? And therefore, how do you know its author was Jewish? You can’t have it both ways.

By their very words they show that they do not know of the continual Real Presence of God that is available to them.

“Real presence” is a specific, historically-significant phrase, which perhaps you don’t realize. “Real presence” connotes bodily presence. Obviously we are always in Christ’s presence. You aren’t telling us anything new, you’re just misusing a phrase. Of course we are in Christ’s friendship all week long. That is not the same thing as receiving Him bodily in the Eucharist, which is an even deeper experience.

As I asked before, do you assume that your own relationship with Jesus is stronger than that of Catholics? Why? Because we are so overwhelmed with love for Jesus that we can’t stop talking about receiving Him in the Eucharist?

Amen! If he only knew! Yes, we are head-over-heels in love with Christ. Hisalone is (unknowingly) calling us to a lower level of love and devotion. May his spirit be illumined and may he see Christ before him, and desire to truly commune with Him. Amen! Alleluia!

If I remember correctly didn’t St. Ignatius from the first century discuss Peter being in Rome? Wasn’t he a student of St. John? I guess he could be mistaken; but, since he lived during the time of Peter’s crucifixion I wouldn’t think so!

Didn’t St. Irenaeus in the second century discuss Peter being in Rome? He was second generation after Peter. I am assuming you know where your grandfather lived? This wouldn’t be any different.

The testimony of St. Peter being at Rome is early, solid, Apostolic, unanimous, in other words irrefutable.

You believe that in the eucharist you recieve Christ.
I understand that you believe this I really do.
What I am saying to you is that you can recieve, walk in, walk with Christ at anytime. You can live in the continual presensece of God and have the continual presence of God abiding, residing within you continually. The real presence of God is this habitation.

you can worship God in nature, have church in the meadow, commune with the grass, worship a tree. OOOOps

The Bible is emphatic that no Temple can contain Him, in Whose Body the fullness of Godhead is.

Do you love Christ enough to follow where He leads even if it is outside the Catholic Church even if it means to turn away from the faith of all your family and your support group to follow Him. Do you have the courage to do that?

Don’t you see that the fruit is good for food, and a delight to the eyes…

Placing the Scriptures in a place of honor like that must be a recidivist tendency from my pre-Catholic past . . . . I mean, we’re not even allowed to READ a Bible, much less OWN and HONOR one. A certain older “Scholar” on these forums claimed, by his own authority, that the bones in Saint Peter’s tomb were animal. Such silliness would be amusing, if it wasn’t such tragic evidence of the spirit of antichrist at work.
