Also, as with rape accusations, I suspect that statistically the false claims are minuscule compared to the actual incidents. False reports never help, because they cast doubt on all the sincere reports, but it is measurably wrong to use the existence of some false reports to suggest that any given report is likely to be false.

Anti-discrimination law forbids discrimination on the basis of race, period. It is just as illegal to deny a white person a job for being white as it is to deny a black person a job for being black.
No it doesn’t. Affirmative action is about denying a person a job based on his race.

Yes. On there other hand, there are true victims who never speak up, so I don’t think false claims should be used to minimize the racism Black Americans still face.
I think false claims do real harm to rooting out the real racism that does exist. Similarly, I think false claims of sexual assault cause a similar harm. The two claims are quite similar. With a false claim you easily get your target denounced and come out the winner. But there are many very real and painful cases that are not reported, where the victim does not want to become the center of a controversy.

That accomplishes that how?
By increasing the access of minorities to jobs and educational opportunities that have historically been denied to them. As bad as the gap between whites and black is, it would be worse without affirmative action.

“This is where we got lynched. This is where we got lynched, even in today’s day.”

In the video, Hilton-Williams said she feared for her life.

Others would say she continued to operate her vehicle haphazardly while filming her sensationalized perspective of the encounter. Just because she didn’t appreciate receiving a traffic citation, or understand the legal requirement to sign the ticket or appear immediately before a judge, does not make this a racist incident. It’s an exaggerated mischaracterization of events. Moreover, it’s inflammatory and damages race relations when publicized in this manner.
An example of why I don’t want the memorial to exclusively make the practice about blacks,
and she knew to say ‘she feared for her life’.

learned behavior
maybe you should just google it?

In this particular case, I would compare it to a child who falls down but doesn’t start crying until the parent comes into the room. People learn how to act to get the outcome they want.

What specifically do you believe is a learned behavior regarding racism?

By increasing the access of minorities to jobs and educational opportunities that have historically been denied to them. As bad as the gap between whites and black is, it would be worse without affirmative action.
By denying White people jobs, college admission, etc. because they are White. The solution to racist policies can’t be racism.

Do you have explicit proof white people have been denied jobs based on race?

Anyone who doubts the reality and virulence of white privilege and white supremacy and the extent of white fragility need only read this thread and others like in on CAF.
