I guess the final outcome will be choosing the lesser of two evils.
Pretty much…only don’t get caught up in the word “evil.” As discussed on this or another thread (I can’t remember), it is just a saying. Neither candidate is “evil.” It would be better described as voting for the better of two flawed (aka fallen human) candidates. 🙂

No. The 14th Amendment declares states do not have the power to deprive people of their right to life without due process.

Okay, let’s parse what the Ammendment says:
  1. All persons – this is the major category.
  2. citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside – this is the sub-category.
  3. born or naturalized in the United States – this is the discriminator, how you tell persons who are citizens from persons who are not.
Now let’s go on:

.

This section addresses both citizens and persons. Clearly, it is citizens, a subcategory (defined earlier as “All persons born or naturalized in the United States”) whose priviliges and immunities may not be abridged.

But it is persons – the larger category – who cannot be deprived of “life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.”
Gee… they are not persons… a fetus is not a person. This has been extensively covered by Peter Singer in Practical Ethics.

Your hero, Peter Singer, may not be a person, but the unborn child is a living human being and as much of a person as you or I.

I disagree. I believe that in November we will have a good choice among the candidates.

I’m not sure how you think we disagree then. I agree we will have a good choice. Is Jesus one of the candidates on the ballot, because otherwise I think that “flawed (aka fallen human)” is an apt description of any candidate.

If you really think that the Republican Party has a chance of winning this November, you had better read this.

Boring. There are plenty of opinions out there, and, at least for the presidency, the Republican Party does have a good chance of winning…according to the current polls.

Considering what a lousy job the Democrats are doing running Congress, it is hard to tell what will happen there.

Not to mention that if neither Obama or Hillary get’s enough delegates and neither drops out they have to wait till the Democratic National Convention to deliberate it.

And this year is the year they’re holding it August 25-28 (roughly two months before the General Election) which is they ever held it. They figured that holding it in July or early August as they usually do would be bad because people might be distracted by the Bejing Olympics. Which is the least of their concerns now.
So now during the summer while Obama and Hilalry will be trying to swoon over Puerto Rico in a last ditch effort to get enough delegates, John McCain will be campaigning nearly unopposed in the swing states.

Frankly I don’t like any of them. California will go to the Democrat anyway so I’m just going to write in “Ron Paul” like some other people are doing. Pro-life in the full sense of the word (anti-abortion, anti-war, anti-death penalty)… if only his base wasn’t made up of conspiracy nuts and fanatics…

From what I am reading, it may take a Great Chastisement by God before people will respect life. I can understand God’s anger and wrath, we are degrading to a point in which even Roman Catholics are placing personal worldly interests over the massacre of innocent lives. That is why: “the good will perish along with the evil, Priests and the sinners alike.” Our lack of concern for the unborn warrants it. If the Great Chastisement is worse than the Great Flood, as we learned from Sister Agnes, you could probably count the survivors on one hand. Chances are that none will be an abortion doctor.

LOL…it is called change, my friend. I was pro-choice at the time. Are you against pro-choicers who become pro-life?
Just because Ross Perot couldn’t win as a third party candidate does not mean that no-one can win, especially when the Republican Party has abandoned conservative values. If the third party candidate represents the views of most of the people than he stands a good chance of winning.

Okay…if you say so. Check back with me in mid-November, and we’ll see how it goes. I’m predicting much less than 5% will go to any third party candidate or even the sum of all “third party” candidates.

If he were, would you vote for him?
