No you haven’t as I have shown.I gave you enough context to demonstrate that that is not what it means.
No you haven’t as I have shown.I gave you enough context to demonstrate that that is not what it means.
actually, it is fact. You are entitled to your opinion, obviously; but I disagree.
You are mistaken. This site contains a harmony of the various accounts. It shows that there are omissions from the different accounts, but not contradictions.I have read them. There are major contradictions. Glad you can pick the one that best fits your belief.
Catholic alter their lives based on the Scriptures.
It appears Mormons alter their scriptures based on their lives
There is a reason, and it is not blind faith. The reason is the testimony of the Holy Ghost.Good. It is rare a Mormon will admit they have no reason, just blind faith. I am glad you are different and admit there is no reason behind your belief
Thank you. I am glad there is something we agree! That is somewhat of how Catholics view the Holy Spirit although we view the Trinity differently than Mormons.
Actually, the site you provided shows plenty of contradictions, but does not include all the versions. So, go to the thread and show us how there are no contradictionsYou are mistaken. This site contains a harmony of the various accounts. It shows that there are omissions from the different accounts, but not contradictions.
That is one possible meaning of “reason”. A more general meaning is simply justification for action or belief. Here are some definitions form the Free Dictionary:
*]The basis or motive for an action, decision, or conviction. See Usage Notes at because, why.
*]A declaration made to explain or justify action, decision, or conviction: inquired about her reason for leaving.
*]An underlying fact or cause that provides logical sense for a premise or occurrence: There is reason to believe that the accused did not commit this crime.
*]The capacity for logical, rational, and analytic thought; intelligence.
*]Good judgment; sound sense.
*]A normal mental state; sanity: He has lost his reason.
*]Logic A premise, usually the minor premise, of an argument.
See definition number 1. My justification for belief and action is the testimony of the Holy Ghost that it is true. That is my “reason”.
A traditional rule holds that the construction the reason is because is redundant, and should be avoided in favor of the reason is that. The usage is well established, however, and can be justified by analogy to constructions such as His purpose in calling her was so that she would be forewarned of the change in schedule…
I didn’t say that. I said the reason is the testimony of the Holy Ghost.Aaaaah…not exactly. Here is where many non-Catholics believe no “reason” is involved or ever needed.
I did not say “a reason”…I said “reason”There is a reason, and it is not blind faith. The reason is the testimony of the Holy Ghost.
Would you judge Catholicism by the testimony of Catholic apostates who have left the Catholic Church and now find fault with it from the sidelines?I beg to differ. Many ex-Mormons will tell you otherwise. From they tell me: ALL LIES!
Nope! Here are your own words verbatim:I didn’t say that. I said the reason is the testimony of the Holy Ghost.
Fine. My testimony of the Holy Ghost proves to me, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that the Mormon church is a cult. There is a reason, and it is not blind faith. The reason is the testimony of the Holy Ghost.
That is not proof that it is false. Can’t prove a negative. What we CAN show is that nothing in the Book of Mormon has ever been corroberated by non-lds scientists, geographers, archaeologists, or any other “ists”.,
Yes, it is…That is not proof that it is false.
The answer is still the same. There is no science that can prove the Book of Mormon false. You didn’t answer my question. Science has proven that the Book of Mormon is NOT what Joseph Smith said it was; therefore Joseph Smith lied.
By the testimony of the Holy Ghost. How is the Book of Mormon true for you?
Sure it does. Joe Smith said that very certain things happened at very certain times, and it’s been proved that they’ve not happened at all. That is not proof that it is false.
Yes, it is blind faith otherwise you could complete this sentence: I have a testimony for the truth of the Book of Mormon because _____________. And the blank would be filled with an objective fact. There is a reason, and it is not blind faith. The reason is the testimony of the Holy Ghost.
Joseph Smith was not a liar either. His vision is true. The differences do not amount to contradictions. They are simply different accounts given at different times (mostly orally) with different amounts of detail. Why does have it to be “serious” to be acknowledged as having contradictions? Major or minor…there exists contradictions.
BTW: Prophets do not have false visions by God. OT prophets were not liars!
Yes, DNA has proven Joseph Smith to have lied about what he said was true about the Book of Mormon. The answer is still the same. There is no science that can prove the Book of Mormon false.
That is not an answer.By the testimony of the Holy Ghost.
