Why would God care who we have sex with?

I suggest that there are believers who masturbate, engage in fellatio and have sexual relations with their spouse while using artificial birth control. We’ll never know about them, as they practice their sins in secret.

The difference between their sin and an open homosexual, is that their sin is secretly hidden behind closed doors.

Is a Christian who occasionally masturbates, are they suffering from a perversion as well? Does the Catholic laity start internet threads condemning their perverse actions?

The difference? Their sins are secret and behind closed doors.
Which sin bothers or disturbs you the most?

Which is the one you or anyone would use as an excuse to go on sinning?

How does your sin - public or private - affect my decision to sin?

Are we just looking left and right to justify our sin or by-pass the effect of sin or take the edge off of sin?

Or maybe we’re “just saying”.

*The fact of the matter is that **many *people don’t share your subjective religious views. Many Christians accept homosexual sex as being sinless and many homosexuals freely marry in Christian Church’s.

These **many(?) **“Christians” are cafeteria Christians. Saint Paul condemned them. Saint Paul also condemned homosexual sex. Satan is the father of lies, as Jesus himself put it, and most of all the father of the lies we tell ourselves … one of which is that Christianity supports homosexual sex…

Would you say there are also “Christians” who believe sado-masochistic sex is not sinful? There is no more approval for that in the NT than there is for homosexual sex.

In previous posts you have defended homosexual sex and sado-masochistic sex according to whether it exists between two consenting adult. Would you also defend sex between an adult son and his mother on the same grounds?

Some continue to believe in Jesus and some get married in protestant Churches.
Yes, isn’t it easier to convince yourself you have no bounds? That is exactly what I meant by, replying in a, “screw you” manner anyways. just because you act within in your opinion does not make anything good. that’s the point trying to be sent out here. even within biology, you do not and can not work outside your means. even in today’s world, scientists still have to work within the means and work through certain biological occurrences in order to clone or mutate chromosomes. They can’t just bend it here and flick it there, there are still basic elements that still need to occur or work with in order to get their desired outcome. They still are dealing within the means. however, what is done screws with the system in order. Same with sin, working with natural emotions but screwing it out of proportions. Therefore messing up the system in order being ourselves, those close to us, and our relationship with God.

you keep saying that your little system only pertains to sex. this is incredibly ignorant or arrogant to how everything we do is connected. it doesn’t matter if it is sex, a conversation, or walking down the street. your spirit creates the emotion, establishes the motion, and expresses what type of person you are. It is all relevant, it will all connect.

Now, how bout cheating? what if a woman decides to be in a relationship with another person, who eventually cheats on her? there are no present dangers, no laws (in some cases), and both agree to their terms. however, the outcome is still the woman regretting ever being with the guy and this one experience (with others if she has them) changes her outlook and dating habits. She has been harmed, obviously…however she did not know it was to occur. her partner didn’t know either, so how could this situation be safe?

Whether the sin is hidden or open to the public, it is still sin. The effects are still the same, which is numbness/indifference. Now, depending on the understanding of the person, yes sinners do suffer. it doesn’t matter what it is, there will be suffering. HOWEVER, please realize if a sin is continued you numb yourself (I’ve said this before). sin separates you from God and normal human reactions (good). these affects are obvious and do exist, a person’s denial to it is only their rejection of truth so they may continue doing what pleasures them instead of what allows them personal growth.

Your acting as if a person committing a sin and damning that sin is a hypocrite, however that does not create a hypocrite. hypocrites, see themselves as perfect people above others…even if a sinner damns the very thing he/she is doing, does not make them hypocrites, but suffering and that is their way to cry

These people have not rejected God, but embrace and worship him. Despite one segment of Christianity being certain that their sexual relations sinful, they’re certain that their actions aren’t sinful.
How can you truly embrace God if you pick and choose what to believe? that is not worship and not love. that is rejection…story of the rich man ring any bells? a rich man asked Jesus how could he go into heaven. Jesus replied, " give up your possessions and follow me". The rich man could not do as Jesus has asked and walked away. It is the same with everyone no matter the situation!!! It does not matter if your poor, rich, blind, homo or hetero…it does not matter. If indulge in one area of sin and reject the others, you are still doomed. that’s why there are the seven deadly sins…to allow us understanding of what not to do in order to raise to perfection.

I say;

An adult is free to choose a sexual partner, so long as both parties consent to the activity and no laws are broken.

A pretty good moral barometer if I do say so myself.
May I ask for a bit of clarification here?
I have a friend whose husband smacked her around regularly. The situation escalated, as she knew it would, to punching. From there, it escalated, as she knew it would, to her being thrown down a set of stairs. All of these events happened over a period of several years. She is still with him to this very day, I would imagine she is still being beaten regularly. Aside from the beatings, she is quick to point out, he’s a wonderful husband. She has no interest in leaving him.

1)Morals are not subjective (i.e. they are not a matter of personal opinion)… thus either homosexual acts are sinful… or they aren’t.
2) “Homosexual Marriage” doesn’t exist… marriage by definition is between a man & a woman

What you say is true, for the present day.

However, if you take every Christian in the past 2000 years, those that believe the one can worship God and engage in homosexual sex don’t even register.

These people have rejected the God of the ages for their own god that they have modified to fit their lifestyle.
Many Christians, within the last 2000 years also kept slaves. If I’m not mistaken, such practices are now frowned upon and are no longer practiced in the Western world.

Those Christians worshiped the one true God and still kept slaves.

Thankfully, societies and peoples social values evolve and in most cases, the religions follow along, albeit much more slowly.

Sure gay marriage exists.

There are lots of married homosexuals, some are even married in real Christian Church’s, by Christian ministers. Their marriages are often blessed in the name of God…

It’s true.

Did she consent to this activity? Absolutely. She says so herself. She saw this coming from miles away. At no point in any of the beatings did she say no. She simply assumed a defensive position, and took the abuse. And, most importantly, in their last altercation, she knew full well he was coming at her to throw her down the stairs. She made no attempt to exit the home, or get out of his way. She was standing by the back door, open, with twenty people barbequing in the backyard. There certainly was safety there, and she knew it. Still, she made no attempt to take herself out of harm’s way. She did not want to embarass her husband.

Were any laws broken?
Yes.

People cannot consent to bodily harm.

In the Province I live, the state doesn’t require a complaint to lay domestic assault charge.

Your also stretching it pretty thin and showing relative ignorance regarding the reality of domestic abuse, when your arguing that an abused woman can freely consent to be thrown down a set of stairs by her spouse. 🤷

Any other questions?

Are you saying that the Christians who kept slaves were wrong and going against Church teaching, just like the homosexuals who believe they can be married are going against Church teaching?

Just like square circles exist.

They are just pretending to be married. Hypocrites, in other words.

Are you talking about homosexuals of the same sex married to each other?

If so, what do you mean by “lots” of such marriages blessed in Christian churches? Do you have some statistics, or are you just guessing?

You can create any organization you want and call it what ever you want, but it won’t be Christian unless it follows certain precepts… That being said you are correct that some church’s that are currently acknowledged as Christian have veered so far from the path they originally started on that some would wonder if they would be defined as Christians if they started their Churches today… If Websters Dictionary suddenly was 30% Recipes would you call it a dictionary or a cooktionary …??? don’t know…

Why god would care who you had sex with is the same reason he cares when you kill someone… or commit suicide or abort, or lie… It is not what he intended, it is not in accordance with natural law… Ultimately it separates you from him.

Absolutely certain.

Nope, they’re married all right. Your denials don’t change the fact that their as married as married can be. 🤷 Seriously, you can deny it until you find a square circle, but it won’t affect their loving marriage.
