What is IDvolution?
IDvolution - God “breathed” the super language of DNA into the “kinds” in the creative act.

This accounts for the diversity of life we see. The core makeup shared by all living things have the necessary complex information built in that facilitates rapid and responsive adaptation of features and variation while being able to preserve the “kind” that they began as. Life has been created with the creativity built in ready to respond to triggering events.
Since it has been demonstrated that all living organisms on Earth have the same core, it is virtually certain that living organisms have been thought of AT ONCE by the One and the same Creator endowed with the super language we know as DNA that switched on the formation of the various kinds, the cattle, the swimming creatures, the flying creatures, etc… in a pristine harmonious state and superb adaptability and responsiveness to their environment for the purpose of populating the earth that became subject to the ravages of corruption by the sin of one man (deleterious mutations).
IDvolution considers the latest science and is consistent with the continuous teaching of the Church.

“The process is astonishingly simple. In the embryo’s first moments, the Hox genes are dormant, packaged like a spool of wound yarn on the DNA. When the time is right, the strand begins to unwind. When the embryo begins to form the upper levels, the genes encoding the formation of cervical vertebrae come off the spool and become activated. Then it is the thoracic vertebrae’s turn, and so on down to the tailbone. The DNA strand acts a bit like an old-fashioned computer punchcard, delivering specific instructions as it progressively goes through the machine.”
“A new gene comes out of the spool every ninety minutes, which corresponds to the time needed for a new layer of the embryo to be built,” explains Duboule. “It takes two days for the strand to completely unwind; this is the same time that’s needed for all the layers of the embryo to be completed.” This system is the first “mechanical” clock ever discovered in genetics. And it explains why the system is so remarkably precise." Source

“The universe begins to look more like a great thought than a great machine.” Astrophysicist Sir James Jeans

“This now tells how precise the Creator’s aim must have been, namely to an accuracy of one part in 10 to the 10123rd power. This is an extraordinary figure. One could not possibly even write the number down in full in the ordinary denary notation: it would be 1 followed by 10123 successive 0’s.” Even if we were to write a 0 on each separate proton and on each separate neutron in the entire universe- and we could throw in all the other particles for good measure- we would fall far short of writing down the figure needed.1

If the fall did not happen that might be true
Whats the fall got to do with it?

All you have to do is show that there was always platypuses, giraffes, hippos, lions etc, and that would disprove the natural evolution of species. But the evidence does not favor that view, so why should people not favor the theory of evolution?

Corruption began.
So i guess all animals were vegetarians before the fall?
And, let’s not forget that our 100% vegetarian animals and bugs only ate berries and fruits. No killing plants by eating them, please!!!

If God created species, then apart from animals that have gone extinct, all the animals that exist today should be no different from when they were first created; there should be no new species.
We speculate but cannot be certain that God created species. The categorization of animals is merely man’s intellection.

Curiously, if categorizing animals down to species is specious then the science of the evolution of animals is quite compatible with creationism.

Remembering, of course, that since the science of evolution makes no claims on how life evolved from non-life or rational life from non-rational, the science of evolution and creationism are not in opposition. Creationism accepts all that the science of evolution properly interpolates from within its data. And the science of evolution disregards creationism’s claims in the absence of data – which, as a science, it should.

Then why bring it up here? Some version of this topic gets a new thread here on a regular basis and that’s been going on for years. Evolution is not important. But the constant selling of the idea here seems to be… for reasons unknown.

Why? Because this is the Philosophy forum. Good science never needs selling; just proving. If one is disinterested in any topic then one simply restrains using their mouse clicker (79 posts, so far?).

It’s a useful storytelling device. And it’s useful for spreading atheism.

It’s brought up all the time now to make the Church “approachable” to a generation that has been fed the story that naturalistic science has the only sure answers in life. And many in the Church support evolution to a degree not at all compatible with Church teaching, as if jumping around saying “see, see, we don’t hate science!”

Why do i get the feeling that If the Church left it in your hands every catholic would be a young earth creationist and those who dissent would be called heretics? I could be wrong, but i have a vivid image in my mind of you holding up a placard saying “Evilution”. lol.

The church is wise in promoting the natural evolution of species as a valid theory. Now young Catholic’s don’t have to have a crisis of faith every-time they are questioned by Atheists.

Science can be highly specialized and not involve living things at all. The “Hate Science” lie is just that, a lie. The new rule is the same as the old one: “It’s our way or the highway.” I don’t need to believe the new nonsense. The Church has the whole, complete answer, science does not.

That’s an old one. No, I would be offering them a way to learn what the Church has actually said and taught. They won’t be getting much of that here.

This is just a commonsense argument.

If God created species, then apart from animals that have gone extinct, all the animals that exist today should be no different from when they were first created; there should be no new species. So it should be true that the Platypus has always existed for as long as there have been animals. From the moment animals existed they ought to be identical to the animals that live today. The evidence does not bare out that claim.

So while one might not want to take evolution as fact, i think one can think that it is the most likely origin of species when compared to the biblical 7 day creation explanation…

There is no fossil evidence for the whale evolution - it is an atheistic fantasy

See… It makes… no sense whatsoever. But if you’re writing comic book stories, sure.
