Is it likely or possible that more woman will make it to heaven than men?

(I know that when we get to heaven, gender will be irrelevant; essentially there won’t be a thing such as gender, but you know what I’m asking.)

I raise this question because in my experience going to daily Mass, and even days of obligation, woman tend to outnumber men. As a general rule, they seem more devout, more pure, and more sincere. I think this reality is magnified in other cultures, though it seems to apply to most of the the North American Catholic Church. Even in Protestant circles woman generally outnumber men, and live more virtuous lives.

I tend to believe that God has graced females with a greater inclination towards holiness and love. I’m not sure how or if this factors into the question.

Or it could be that just more women go to the particular church you g to.

I’ve been in churches where the men outnumber the women ten to one.

I don’t think more women will make it to heaven. Not if the multitude of canonised male saints is any indication.

True, you may see more women at church. That could easily be simply because men are more likely to be working on Sundays or Holy Days. Women may talk more about their faith, or practice it more openly, but that may be because men are more reluctant to ‘let their light shine before men’ and keep quiet about it, not because they’re less likely to practice.

I would say that it is especially hard for women today to be saved, since many of them are fooled and are following the statutes of demons. None becomes Saved just because they go to Church, you be firstly and only Saved by how you live your life and what Faith you have.

Read chapter 27, book 7 - www.saintbirgitta.com

For them that are to lazy to read, God states, that painting your face for shallowness, and for making other lust at you and for making yourself more beautiful than you where created, will lead to Hell unless this statute of demons be changed.

Also he says, woman and men (this be especially true for woman) that dress in a way that you show of your body (by wearing tight clothes that show of butt or breast), for the reason to make other lust at you, will lead you to Hell unless you change your ways before death and understand your faults and repents.

Also, those that have sex out of lust (not for making children, but for fulfilling the desires of the flesh invented by the devil), this goes for both married and unmarried pople, will receive in eternal reward the poison they so dearly desired.

If you do not believe me, or call me (not my words but God’s) liar, reads his words for yourself and see who you call liar. These words are acknowledged as infallible truth by the Church already, she was canonized as Patron Saint of Europe by John Paul II, she was canonized by the church in the 1300 century also.

You can read about chastity and why it must be kept to enter Heaven here:

I don’t believe people get to heaven by likelihood, luck, or having good chances. If you are putting your hope in salvation on the odds of getting there, odds are, you won’t get there.

People are accountable for what is in their hearts, not how they appear to others.

True. Although on Sunday Masses I believe it is debatable as to which gender predominates in my area, weekday morning Masses are in general predominately female due to the fact most of the men are indeed at work supporting their families so there wives have the opportunity to go to Church. As for people under the age of say 30 of either gender, they are just not there.

I was of a different mind just recently till a fellow poster got me thinking about it more. I always maintained that women find superficial love easy and devotion comes easy so they will easily slide their way into heaven, whereas men have a much more difficult time, carrying much more difficulties with them in the areas of temptation, etc. And because of their heavier cross to bear, though fewer make it to heaven, their reward for remaining faithful in the face of heavier temptation and crosses, is that much greater.
However, now considering the lures of the world, the temptations to being vain, the temptations of the seductress, the millions of women who have their babies slaughtered in the womb, I no longer believe women have less in the way of temptation. The devil tries his all to capture each and every soul he can without discrimination.
I now believe more wholeheartely the truth in the words, “Strait and narrow is the way which leads unto life, and few there be that go thereby: but broad and spacious is the way that leads to destruction, and many there be which walk thereby”.

I was under the impression private revelation (even the private revelation of a saint) is *never *infallible. Do you have a source?

Not really, no.

The Tree of life didn’t have to be known and/or put there.

After all, why put it there if God didn’t want humans to eat of it? If he didn’t want humans to eat of it, it would be far more simpler to just not tell Adam and Eve and not even have it there in the first place.

That’s off-topic. I cannot answer that without having a new thread started. If you want an answer, you’re welcome to start a new thread.

In most Latin American cultures (which are predominately Catholic), I believe it’s common for woman to receive Communion regularly and men to just sit during time of reception. In addition to it being a cultural reality, I was told that the men acknowledge they are in mortal sin, therefore they will not receive. I’m not sure if it’s a pride or macho thing. Perhaps someone can add insight into this.

I don’t know what gave you the impression I believed otherwise. Perhaps you misinterpreted what I was asking.

Then are you suggesting that more men will make it to heaven?

Letting you light shine before men is putting it into practice, right? Those who deny Jesus will be denied by Jesus to His Father.

And many men work on Holy Days or Sundays, not out of obligation. But rather because they choose to serve mammon before God. Yes, there are plenty of exceptions, but I would say this is more likely the case than not, at least in the U.S.

What did Christ say when they asked for a sign? What did Christ say when they questioned his Authority, and when they questioned that he was the son of God?

I tell you as he told them, you will know his words to be true by what fruit it produces. If you do not read, do not question the authority.

Read atleast 5 chapters, the first five chapters from book 1, and you will know in your conscience them to be from God!

Then go on reading, and grow, and find your way towards Heaven.

Wasn’t it Eve who started this mess??
The Father’s put most of the blame on Adam.

Romans 5:12 Wherefore as by one man sin entered into this world, and by sin death; and so death passed upon all men, in whom all have sinned.

More dark skinned, jewish looking people too 🙂

The thing on makeup applies except in cultures where makeup is common, i.e. actors don’t sin, nor western women, and for the idea of clothes- in different cultures, different effects, for more see

Anyone know where it says that it is permitted fo compliance to normal appearance, wait

"But those women who have no husband nor wish to have one, or who are in a state of life inconsistent with marriage, cannot without sin desire to give lustful pleasure to those men who see them, because this is to incite them to sin. And if indeed they adorn themselves with this intention of provoking others to lust, they sin mortally; whereas if they do so from frivolity, or from vanity for the sake of ostentation, it is not always mortal, but sometimes venial. And the same applies to men in this respect. Hence Augustine says (Ep. ccxlv ad Possid.): “I do not wish you to be hasty in forbidding the wearing of gold or costly attire except in the case of those who being neither married nor wishful to marry, should think how they may please God: whereas the others think on the things of the world, either husbands how they may please their wives, or wives how they may please their husbands, except that it is unbecoming for women though married to uncover their hair, since the Apostle commands them to cover the head.” Yet in this case some might be excused from sin, when they do this not through vanity but on account of some contrary custom: although such a custom is not to be commended. It depends… 🙂
