Will more woman make it to heaven than men?

God works in realities, not chance- for yers, Jewish people had better chance, and now, it seems women and darker skinned people, I say this as someone with a lighter skin, but still part french, part irish, etc, by hich I mean that some countries, bloodlines, others seem more common, but not having better or worse chance, chnce is a human thing, God is not fallible.

I think it’s interesting that some feel that women are somehow destined for heaven, above men. No one earns heaven, as we all know…Jesus died for everyone–and we are fallen. We are all weak sinners, in need of Jesus’ love, and grace. Equally interesting, is that there is this notion out there that women are somehow more pure, or have less trouble with sin. Women sin just as much as men–our sins may vary, but there are plenty of women who struggle with all types of sin–ranging from sexual in nature, to non sexual in nature. I’m confused why anyone would think women would have an ‘easier chance’ to ‘making’ it to heaven, than men?

The first part I am in total agreement with. I don’t believe woman are “destined” for heaven above men. And of course, no one earns heaven; it’s God’s grace and mercy. God wills all get to heaven.

However, in my experience, and perhaps I’m wrong, it seems that men struggle with sin (and more serious sin) than woman. In my understanding, men struggle with pride, adultery, murder, and other evils with greater intensity. I would suggest there is both qualitative and quantitative evidence for this.

Furthermore, as a general rule, it seems that more woman take the faith more seriously. This seems true in Latin American cultures. I can see this at the Confession line at Catholic Church’s in my area. (I believe it’s men’s pride and sloth that discourages them from going, not because they don’t need it.) It’s also often reflected in numbers at Mass and many church events.

Woman indeed have their struggles, many of which are difficult for men to understand. Again, I believe a case can be made that woman tend to deal with their problems better. Men are more likely to act out violently, become abusive, and even self-destructive. If I’m not mistaken, men are much more likely to be successful in committing suicide.

Even if these statements are factual, that doesn’t necessarily mean that more woman will make it to heaven than men, though I do believe it’s possible. But I do believe it reveals some significant differences in our makeup, whether it be nature, nurture, spiritual, or all of these things.

The canonisation of a saint (which is infallible) does not mean all her writings are infallible. Also any messages etc are PRIVATE revelations and not part of the Deposit of Faith meaning they are NOT equal to Holy Scripture and do not have to be believed. You are Dutch Reformed Church so what would you know about infallibilty?

I find it incredibly funny that a Dutch Reformed church member would be so obsessed with the writings of a Catholic saint anyway - if you really believe what she says to be infallible then how about you become Catholic as she was, eh mate?

Not even the writings of Doctors of the Church are considered infallible, not even all the writings of a pope, saint or not, at least not by default.

And those that are infallible, are so because they bring no new teaching, just affirms or confirms what the Church has always taught: the Faith of the Apostles.

If that were true (which I have my doubts), and there are more females on this planet, logically, more females would die in God’s friendship. This would be philisophically incorrect though, because people don’t wind up in heaven based on percentages. This leaves out free will. Free will requires a direction of the will to choose to love God and follow His teachings. The only way the argument can be progressed about which gender dominates in heaven, would be to assume that a particular gender is burdened with less crosses to bear. This would equate to less reward also for bearing less of a burden. Quite possibly also, those burdened more, receive greater graces to bear their crosses if they so choose to bear them faithfully and ask for those graces. This quite possibly could mean those with the heavier burden are more likely be found in favor with God and receive His eternal reward. If one is not being burdened, one may be getting their earthly reward.

Is it likely or possible that more woman will make it to heaven than men?

(I know that when we get to heaven, gender will be irrelevant; essentially there won’t be a thing such as gender, but you know what I’m asking.)

I raise this question because in my experience going to daily Mass, and even days of obligation, woman tend to outnumber men. As a general rule, they seem more devout, more pure, and more sincere. I think this reality is magnified in other cultures, though it seems to apply to most of the the North American Catholic Church. Even in Protestant circles woman generally outnumber men, and live more virtuous lives.

I tend to believe that God has graced females with a greater inclination towards holiness and love. I’m not sure how or if this factors into the question.

I don’t disagree with you. I essentially agree. Other posts of mine directly and indirectly affirm some of these points.

I never said or alluded that we end up in heaven based on percentages. Indeed, we have free will. Perhaps you simply misread.

If a man is commiting adultery, unless he is gay–he is sinning with? A woman. Both are commiting adultery, so if most men say commit adultery with women, then women are equally caught in that type of sexual sin, as well. Suicide, etc…I mean, we don’t know is every sin a person commits, is mortal–only God knows. So…I hesitate to even speculate. I think if I begin speculating on who might end up in heaven, it might cause me to become self righteous. None of us know–the way it should be!

The reason is simple.

Men an women are different emotionally, spirtually, physically, and mentally. God will judge accordingly.

God will say, “I gave you these gifts as a man/woman? what did you do with them?”

A woman can’t be guilty for example of failing to provide for her family, but a man can. He is the provider and protector in Gods eyes. Those are his roles as per Gods plan. On the other hand, a man can’t be guilty for drinking while he is pregnant because he can’t be pregnant. Only a woman can be guilty of such a crime.

Lastly don’t ever think that in heaven there won’t be a gender. In heavem you will still be a woman because you have the soul of a woman. Gender is not limited to our physical body. It is a fundamental aspect of us. Don’t forget, we call Mary the mother of God and we call Jesus the Son of God.

I’ve been in churches where the men outnumber the women ten to one.

Were they Catholic churches? Monasteries? Seminaries?

If they were Catholic parish churches, what is the age range of the men?
Are they mostly single?

Most of them are probably all old people though. There we go, more old people go to heaven than young people.

Excuscing the words of God as private because you do not want to follow it is really ridiculous, you and others do this because it speaks against what you do wrong and because it condemns people who do these wrongs to Hell.

They are not private, because Christ said they would be spread all over the world for people to be Saved, escpecially in the end of days, accepted by some, rejected by others. This was put forward to the Pope, by signs and prophecies, which is why this lead to her being cannonized and the monastery order dictated by by Christ to the honor of Mary was put forth first in Sweden, Rome and then all over the world.

If you just read, which you refuse, you will learn from just the first chapter, that Jesus speaks to all, as in the New Testament, and the book of Revelations.

If you want to deny Christ, then do so, it will be on your head. People who know the Spirit of God, can and will testify for you his words being true.
