What should be their stance in your view? When the subject of the Catholic Church comes up in conversation with my fellow parishioners, it’s always negative. They are very critical of western theology and seem to have no interest in pursuing dialogue toward the goal of reunion. Catholics are heretics, and should return to Orthodoxy, period. I find this attitude very disheartening, but it’s been my personal experience.![]()

Valid point.SSTeacher;6931598:
Love. What concerns me isn’t that they believe their faith is correct, that is appropriate for people in any church, but their triumphalistic attitude toward others. We are all Christians, and should have a genuine desire for the unity that Christ prayed we would have. Love has no room for pride, hatefulness, and condescenion, but rather humility, which is the foundation of all spiritual virtues. I was guilty of that attitude once as a Lutheran, and I pray that I never am again. What should be their stance in your view?
